You should really make a review on the sequels! I want to know your opinions on them because as disappointing as they were, they were still enjoyable (to me at least).
I don't know why but every time I see The Nostalgia Critic reviews his attempts of being funny always pisses me off, but this for some reason is fucking hilarious. Keep up doing what you're doing, it's working! :D
Truth be told I don't much like the matrix and I agree with most of the things that the NC said about it. Still I much prefer this review mainly because I'm getting tired of the NC now.
Funinightmare I mostly get tired of NC's constant skits (sections that are more Demo Reel than Nostalgia Critic). At this point I just skip them to get to the review itself. For some reason it just feels much more intrusive than the usual jokes. --- I also like this review more. ;P
"this is the world as it is today." "its friday! friday! gotta get down on friday!" "i didnt say it yould be easy, i just said it would be the truth" "no! no! get me out! get me out of here!" LMAO!
well, the second one had an awesome ambush scene as well as a sex scene and each of the protaginists fighting the agents. keanu reeves even uses weapons!
This was the review I did after Half-Blood Prince (my first non Harry Potter review) and it wasn't on UA-cam for a while for copyright reasons. Problems sorted now :)
Okay this is how my day went: First watched the NC Matrix Trilogy Review, feel abandoned, alone, scared, lonely. And watch US review right after to feel alive again.
Good review man. I like The Matrix as well. I listened to the ending song numerous times however my memory became hazy. I laughed every time I heard the Goofy yell but it was close to feeling stale.
"i told you i can only show you the door. Only you can walk through it" sounds like the thing yoda tells luke before he goes into the treecave(yeah i'm calling it a tree cave.)
BTW: The Ghost in the Shell (the movie) is the *main* inspiration of this movie. Its been said that the Brothers said that they originally pitched the Matrix with the following quote: :Shows GITS movie to WB: We wanna make a live action version of this! No. Joke.
Fun Facts: The movie was released in the same year as "Fight Club" and had the same budget ($63 million) Will Smith almost got the role of Neo, but turned it down for "Wild Wild West" In case my thumbnail didn't make it obvious, this is my favorite movie. Good job on the review (though you forgot to mention the lobby shootout and the bullet-dodging scene).
hey suspect.first I want to say you are a great reviewer and yea it sucks that we have to wait a while for a review.but imo so far its always been worth the wait.now I know your a busy guy but I have a suggestion for a review some time down the road.it doesn't have to be your next review or anything but how about a review of the karate kid remake.if I'm not mistaken you havnt done any reviews of remakes and I would like to see you review the movie.please reply to me and let me know what you think.
cage as neo could actually work "so your telling me that the blue one will tell the truth, and the red one means i will forget all of this. how do i know i wont become ADDICTED TO THE DRUGS YOU'RE TRYING TO SELL ME"
LOL, I don't hate him! To be fair I should have mentioned that I do like him in this; this was an early review from me, I explain things better in my more recent reviews :)
I'm sure you've already been told this a bajillion times, but the line isn't "The oracle told me that I would fall in love with a dead man" . It's "The oracle told me that I would fall in love and that that man... That man would be the one." BTW - love your videos - all hilarious so far!
+The Golden Arrow Yeah, I made this review years ago when I was basically an idiot; and you're right. I'm way to harsh on Keanu here. He has given bad performances but now I feel he's really underrated. He's freakin' amazing in John Wick.
Guys the ending of the third is completely logical because the matrix reloads as Agent Smith takes over him thus making Agent Smith pluged into the source and because he is the one and the matrix reloads.
+Shadi Barham I think the problem with that was... not many actually understood what the hell just happened. The Matrix is known for a lot of things, CGI that still holds up rather strongly today (more or less) action, leather, bullet time and 'whoa." Oh and also long winded, overly-dramatic and pointlessly stretched out pretentious philosophical conversations that could've easily been explained in 100 words or less. Don't get me wrong, I like movies that makes you to think; and the Wachowski Sisters certainly made a trilogy that got people thinking when the movies came out back in the early 2000's, but the stupidly long pretentious conversations that these people have are painfully dull to listen to at times. It was after the second movie people saw how the Sisters wrote. I'm not saying they are terrible writers and I still like the Matrix trilogy even today, but watching them can be dull when you're listening to some of these people talk... these supposedly well functioning humans? Honestly, I can understand the machines talking in cryptic manners since they are machines. They might appear human, but it's only an illusion cast on by the machine itself. In the end they are all bound by their programming... until *Mr. Anderson* came along. I can also get past the long scene with God AKA the Architect because he was trying to trick Neo into making the 'choice' to go into the door on the right and restart the Matrix's for the 8th or so time and inadvertently allow Zion and the rest of humanity to fall to the machines again. This would allow the machine to try and fix the 'anomaly' that Neo is and completely finish the Matrix. But that still doesn't help the movie from being too overly complicated with not enough clearly defined. Alot of it was just left up in the air with a long drawn out talk. I don't mind media leaving it to the viewers imagination, that's why the ending to Metal Gear Solid 2 works so well for itself, but I wouldn't be surprise if most people who was watching the Matrix was left completely confused by the ending due to the lack of context (and possibly from being too worn on the conversations at that point and that whole 'meeting with God' bit.) My apologies, friend. I did not mean to go into my response like this. Kinda shows how despite the Matrix faults... I still love the films. The ending was a bit anti climatic when I first saw it because all I saw was a shameless DBZ fight with Neo and Smith and then, bright light and rainbows! Granted this was when I was only a kid, watching them as an adult I can appreciate what the Sisters were trying to tell. Could they have done it better? Sure but they weren't even allowed to use their arguably better idea and was stuck with the idea that the human body is a battery when it's pretty well known that this wouldn't be the case in a real-life scenario.
I was thinking about the third one and I thought trinities death was so sad "trinity...you can't die".when I first saw it I got chocked up.I think when trinity said shes going with him he should have said "no"."If something happened to you I couldn't live with myself"."I almost lost you once"."this time I won't be able to save you"."I can't live without you"."your not going".it was so sad imo.
That dramatic music playing when Cage's head was on Reeves's body on the copy was priceless, but why the hate? Or was it that if he did get the role, you'd be forced to not say his name in fear of the CAAAGE!! Guy appearing everytime? XD
Hey, Suspect. I understand that you're probably busy reviewing the Star Wars prequels or Hobbit films, but is there any chance that later down the road, you'd be reviewing Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions? Not any reason, but I just like watching you review movies and making them hilarious. ;D
Hey, Suspect, here's a crazy idea: get together with a bunch of friends and play the Matrix drinking game. The rules are simple: take a shot every time Agent Smith says "Mr. Anderson." But only play it with the first movie; if you try to play it for the whole trilogy you'll die.
Great content! And now that I have watched this again, I've realized that Saints Row 4 is an exact copy of this in more ways then I can count, and not just because I can't count very high.
Nic cage gets the part. Matrix revelotions he gets his eyes burnt out on the ship..Nic cage "my eyes their burned, HOWD THEY GET BURNED HOWD THEY GET BURNED HOWD THEY GET BURNED" Yeah we live in the reality where this did not happen, at least not in this film. Keanu the man!!!!
Ok so i rented this movie at my local library because i was curious about what it was about and here are my opinions on this film. Now honestly and to be %100 honest with you guys and I'm not trying to hurt anybody's feeling here i didn't quite understand what was going on and it was really hard to fallow. I mean i am not saying that it was a poorly made movie or it sucked. it was just really hard for me to fallow along with the plot and what was going on in the movie and the scenes. And also it would have been a little bit better if tommy lee jones who played agent Kay in men in black made a cameo or a appearance. So for my rating I'm only going to give the matrix a 3/5 stars only because i didn't quite understand what was going on. So i don't have a problem with anyone else giving a opinion alright? What i just said was just a opinion.
Is anyone else at a suspect binge? He's literally one of my favorite ytbers
Yup
Your right about that man
I like how Hedwig, is perched up behind you. Chilling and all.
You should really make a review on the sequels! I want to know your opinions on them because as disappointing as they were, they were still enjoyable (to me at least).
yep, my thoughts exactly. for me they where extremely hard to follow and i did not get what was going on in them all
I don't know why but every time I see The Nostalgia Critic reviews his attempts of being funny always pisses me off, but this for some reason is fucking hilarious. Keep up doing what you're doing, it's working! :D
well, I love Nostalgia Critic, hes freaking hillarious. But this guy is his successor
watcheem difference between this guy and Doug is that he tries to be very very thorough with his reviews.
I don't understand why he doesn't like The Matrix.
Agent Schmuck is right, this film is a masterpiece by any definition of the word.
Nostalgia Critic is a f***ing dumbass; and The Unusual Suspect is leaps and bounds ahead of Doug
8:25 holy shit that's funny hahah
"No...no!"
"I didn't say it would be easy Neo"
Nathan Enriquez
🎵It's Friday! Friday! Gotta get down on Friday!🎵
"Stop! Let me out!"
Me: Welcome to hell! MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His jabs at Keanu haven’t exactly aged well, have they?
Because of Keanu Reeves’ ‘career resurrection’ with the John Wick franchise?
I mean he's still an average actor at best.
Nostalgia Critic reviewed this too, but is MUCH more harsh (and quite frankly I think your review is much better)
---
I also like this review more. ;P
Yeah, we're all getting tired of NC
***** I disagree...the Matrix is pretty outdated (but I still enjoy it).
***** really? wearing these clothes in the middle of the street? yeah, blends well with the crowd.
Maybe eventually, its just that not many people have been requesting them. I'll ask you guys in the near future if you wanna see a Reloaded review :)
Yes!
Not just Nicholas Cage (CAGE!). Johnny Depp was also supposed to be Neo. So was Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Ewan McGregor.
Alucard, More Awesome Than Chuck Norris Will Smith, too.
O my god, can you imagine Ewan McGregor in the "Matrix"? 😮
@@mateuszmarciniak2828 Hello there

Now: Keanu Reeves........YOURE BREATH TAKING
I am still calling them Brothers.
Based and redpilled.
This movie should get an award for MOST FRICKEN GREEN EVER USED IN A MOVIE
One of my all time favorites since i was 7-8 years old. Stellar fucking movie, i wish the sequels had the same creativity though.
well, the second one had an awesome ambush scene as well as a sex scene and each of the protaginists fighting the agents. keanu reeves even uses weapons!
george harris Are you ironic or not? because a sex scene, ambush, and protagonist/antagonist fighting does not make a good movie great...
Ancronis i know. the sex scene made no sense, but the other fight scenes were kinda cool.
and yes, i'm a bit ironic.
george harris Yeah but 8 year old me did apprciate a sex scene much more then 21 year old me does
at 8:25 i started laughing so hard i had to walk away for a good five minutes before finishing
i thought will smith nearly starred in the matrix
He did. Nicholas was a contender for the role as well
fletch40 Look at his new video ;)
I laughed WAY too hard at this. How do you not have more subscribers??
Damn, Keanu Reeves really improved as an actor since The Matrix
review the rest of the trilogy
I think so, yeah. Wanna do a few others before though :)
Definitely do reloaded and revolutions next!
Ah, this never gets old.
This was the review I did after Half-Blood Prince (my first non Harry Potter review) and it wasn't on UA-cam for a while for copyright reasons. Problems sorted now :)
Okay this is how my day went:
First watched the NC Matrix Trilogy Review, feel abandoned, alone, scared, lonely. And watch US review right after to feel alive again.
22:26 while the vfx were revolutionary, not everything has aged that well
Good review man. I like The Matrix as well. I listened to the ending song numerous times however my memory became hazy. I laughed every time I heard the Goofy yell but it was close to feeling stale.
You're actually pretty funny. You deserve more views than you get.
One of the Wachowskis dated a dominatrix? A LOT of stuff in these movies makes so much more sense now.
What's even weirder is that she was married to someone else while they dated.
hey suspect, great review have u ever played
enter the matrix (ps2)
"i told you i can only show you the door. Only you can walk through it" sounds like the thing yoda tells luke before he goes into the treecave(yeah i'm calling it a tree cave.)
I just call it "the cave on dagobah with darkside force" lol
OMG... ASDF reference almost killed me!
I wonder what it would’ve been like if Sean Connery played Morpheus instead of dude in a teddy bear suit in the terrible avengers (1998) movie
Are you gonna review Reloaded and Revolutions?? Would love to know what you think...
BTW: The Ghost in the Shell (the movie) is the *main* inspiration of this movie.
Its been said that the Brothers said that they originally pitched the Matrix with the following quote:

That was definitely more recap than review but entertaining all the same
SEQUELS, Suspect, god damnit, we need them! Luv ya :*
I SOOO enjoy your reviews, I'm just very suprised you don't have that many subscribers and views :/ Don't worry, I'll continue watching you! ;)
Thanks for this, helped me understand the plot better and have a laugh whilst doing it.
2:18 I will forever associate that song with that PS1 snowmobile racing game

Good lord this was 5 years ago. Hello from 2018!
The reason the don't use better weapons is most likely it's one of the rules you can bend not break.
are you gonna review the other movies
Crazy I found this nearly 8 years after you made it. @ 9:00 I LOL'd so hard...thanks for that.

i can understand why no one gets this film. i can sum it up in 4 simple words people doing crazy stuff.
I don't really have a problem with a naked guy appearing in a movie. So many movies have nude females.
"The Oracle said that I'd fall in love and that that man would be the one" not dead man, that man
Guys the ending of the third is completely logical because the matrix reloads as Agent Smith takes over him thus making Agent Smith pluged into the source and because he is the one and the matrix reloads.

Nick Cage as Neo woulda killed the film, Nick Cage as Agent Smith......mighta worked.
From what I remember hearing it was will smith who was suppose to get the part but turned it down for wild Wild West.

I thought Assassins Creed was already inspired by The Matrix
I didn't know about Nick Cage being offered the role, but I'd always heard it was supposed to be Will Smith.
Hey, Suspect, here's a crazy idea: get together with a bunch of friends and play the Matrix drinking game. The rules are simple: take a shot every time Agent Smith says "Mr. Anderson." But only play it with the first movie; if you try to play it for the whole trilogy you'll die.
You should review the new Star Trek movies next!
*Dead* LOL I DIED OF LAUGHING!!!
I love when he put the mcdonalds sign
Actually Will Smith was also almost cast to be Neo.
Also suspect u gotta bring back the owl in your newer reviews
Great content! And now that I have watched this again, I've realized that Saints Row 4 is an exact copy of this in more ways then I can count, and not just because I can't count very high.
Is it just me or does the matrix have a green tinge to it the whole time!
