So right now, I feel that sony is in the process of releasing their new generation of earbuds that all feature relatively smaller cases from their predecessors and updated connectivity instead of using a hero and side kick set up like their past earbuds. Now first Sony released their WF-1000XM4’s which have amazing ANC… even though I am not a fan of their foam ear tips… and most recently they released their link buds… which are very peculiar. But today we are going to checkout Sony’s new super entry level and budget friendly earbuds… the WF-C500’s.

I had the WF-1000XM4 and they had an extremely weak bass even when EQed to the max. I had to return them and I'm way happier with the C500. They have a much stronger bass and they can be EQed to sound really well.
I loved the MDRXB55 extra bass but the stopped making them.
So I’ll ask, do you think these compare?
Appreciate the upload man. I currently own both WF-C500 and WF-XB700. The XB700 made me want to upgrade to the C500. And now I'm currently waiting for the 1000XM4 to come in today. You review over them helped me with my decision, thank you
If you're used to the XB700, I'm afraid the XM4 could sound very weak to you, especially in the bass department.
I had the XM4 and couldn't stand how weak the bass is even after boosting it to maximum either with its app or the Samsung EQ.
The C500 actually has a stronger bass with EQ! The rest of the sound is not as great as XM4, but it's still very good and not fatiguing as the XB700 can be.
I would recommend to try the C500 if the bass isn't enough for you on the XM4. You can find them refurbished from a reputable website Secondipity. You can find them on eBay and they have a website too, I paid $30 for them and they were really like new.
Dude, wich one you consider better and why, form both xb700 and c500. I have the xb700 and getting interested in the c500. My main concern is volume and bass, compared between those 2.
@@ivanazo666 the main upgrades from the XB700 to the C500 is no more hero and sidekick setup, app support, and battery life. Honestly, I don't think that the XB700 is worth $120 or more. But the C500 at $100 is a pretty good deal, and it is currently on sale on Amazon and maybe for sites for $68. So if you're looking for those specific upgrades, then yes, I'd jump on it. I'm a basshead myself, if you like bass, then the C500 can deliver with a few EQ tweaks.
@@ivanazo666 If you listen to the XB700 at full volume, the C500 will not be enough for you. They have lower volume for sure. I'd say with XB700 I was listening at 80% volume with almost no EQ to increase the bass. With C500 I listen at 100% volume with the Clear Bass increased to max (10) to get the same kind of bass.
The C500 has an overall smoother and better sound, I personally prefer them to the XB700. But again, if you like to max out the volume, these are about 20% less loud than the XB700.
Other than volume, everything else is better on the C500. Like DaBoss mentioned, there's app support, they're smaller and lighter...
Also, you can get them refurbished from Secondipity on eBay or their own website for $30. It's a good source of "like new" refurbished products, I got the C500 and XM4 from them, they were perfect, like new.
@@lukastemberger @daboss1210YT thanks men. Yeah im gonna try them, i like the xb700 but they are to big and if the sound is better and that volume you mention is more than ok. Plus all the other extras
Very accurate evaluation! C500s seems good enough, No sense in wasting money! They are small too, don't jut out like poles!
is there a way to lock the buttons? I press them accidentally every time I try to adjust them into my ear. Thank you!
how is having it pause the music when you take them out a major inconvenience when you can just press the button as you take them out
Would you be able to compare these to the Samsung Galaxy Buds+? They can be found at similar prices now
Some people have noticed that there is a hiss noise when the earbuds are not playing any music. Have you noticed something like that?
Its true noise floor is noticeable
I have Sony WF-C500 and the case doesn’t show up inte app! How do I make that it shows up in the app?
I’m currently deciding between buying this WF-C500, Soundcore Life P3, or Sennheiser CX. What would be your best choice? Thanks! (My priority is only sound quality but ANC or transparency mode would be nice)

@@shuvosaha9634 I just got Edifier W240TN, after another reviewer suggested it over the Life P3 (my top choice). The vocals sound a bit muffled and aren't as punchy as my wired earpods. The EQ helps a bit tho. Please share your thoughts if you've bought your choice!

I've heard people complain that these have a constant hiss sound, did you have it, and if yes, was it too distracting or one would get used it it just fine?
I can say, you can sometimes hear a tiny bit of interference noise. To me personally, it's not distracting or loud enough to even notice, especially when listening to music.
Most manufacturers these days cancel out that interference noise artificially when music is not playing as it's very hard to avoid radio interference in such a small radio device. This one is not 100% cut off, but it's very small and doesn't affect the sound.

Everyone knows Sony is the worst with naming products but hearing you say the entire name over and over is distracting and gets annoying. I think we can all follow along just fine with XM4 or CF500 instead of Sony WF-XM400. Then again I'm just a nobody commenting on your video that u took time and effort to make for us and here I am complaining. Didn't realize how stupid I sounded until after I finished the comment.
