Ok, im actually pretty surprise to see this camera has a decent lens stabilization vlog looks crispy and steady!!! That`s a huge point in the entry level vlog/camera to start to. Great video, nicely done.
Okay, that is one of the best looking outside vlog tests you've done. Especially so because of how well it's handling the bright sunlight and the shadows. Also - it's MUCH sharper than any apsc Canon vlogging I've seen. Kuddos to Nikon!
Was totally waiting on this one lol just got my z50 yesterday i love it so much i sold my a7rii today
Wow nice! I’m really impressed so far and I hope you enjoy your new camera! 😁👍
Nikon auto iso is one of nicest implementations. You can very easily turn camera into auto mode while still getting critical settings like 'ss at twice frame rate' etc locked down.
Many people complain about the flip screen and nobody mentions that "You Dont Need to Use it." You can use your Phone as a Viewfinder while having in theory FULL Control. Thats not only a solution, thats one hell of a ergonomic to consider doing a full video on to help determine how good the option actually is.
Thank you for shooting this in 4k and with shallow depth of field. Doing it right.
Have had my Z50 since Thanksgiving and been really enjoying it. Just a fun camera to take everywhere and shoot with.
The kit lens looks sharp!
Hi dad, I know you have a niche and you love it, but your audio is so good. I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a start-to-finish audio tutorial (with an emphasis on post processing). Just a thought! Thanks for all your hard work!!
I recommend a shotgun mic. I got the Sennheiser mke for $150 (in Facebook market), it changed it all... I don't even need to equalize it.
I use the strap that came with my GH5. One time I was on a train, I got up at my stop and walked off the train. I looked down and noticed my strap had totally snapped. Thankfully I had a messenger bag on and the strap of that bag held the broken strap to me which stopped my GH5 having a hefty drop to the concrete. I fixed the strap and still use it to this day... which doesn’t seem smart now I write it! This Nikon looks good so far, look forward to the upcoming videos about it.
I just can't go back to a camera without IBIS after I got my G85! The VR definitely helps with the shakies, but it definitely needs either IBIS or that really good electronic stabilization I've been seeing lately!
@@TheEverydayDad
Wouldnt a gimbal sort that problem...
Whats ur opinion of using gimbals vs. iBIs
@@kdcruz75 gimbals are kind of impractical for photos, for videos its ok but it adds cost and weight and complexity to the system
I think the 2 KIT lenses have close to 5 stops image stabilization. I would think that would be enough. The drawback would be using non stabilized lenses.
Awesome overview and unboxing Sir. As for the camera strap, since my second stroke I thought I would give the strap a try, to see if it would help me a bit. But after a couple days with it in my new 90D I had to remove it. If the strap was longer, maybe I could have used it. But as it is, it just kept getting in the way of everything I did. So I am now back to strapless once again.
I will check into after market straps and see if they change my mind, but for now it's " No" for the camera strap.
Man, i like the Z50 image better than the image from the camera you're filming with. Now i am second guessing my 90D purchase.
Nikon is basically a Sony! Left over Sony sensors sold to Nikon LOL
Been waiting for this one!
I never use the straps and always remove the attachments from my camera's as I mainly use them for Video and the attachments can make a tapping sound ;)
post new review video waiting and i plan to switch 80d to a6400 z50 which one is better
Great image quality!
Finally !!!!! Thanks bro
I've heard good things about the Z50. So far so good here too. Although the name reminds me of a little Honda from waaaay back when.😂
... well, I like watching all your videos because you like every camera you talking about ... 😄😄😄 ...
I got the same box also with these two lenses and I love it, allthough the Nikkor DX 50-250 mm lens feels a bit heavy compared to the Tamron 50-200 mm lens I had on my Canon EOS 500 D.
I think it is a bit early to talk about an "ecosystem" on the Z range. I have the Z6 with the 24-70mm and I really love it. It replaces my X-T2.
Can you please tell me where the settings are to make the external mic my primary mic? I plug it in but I get no sound. The noise level meters do not change. Trying to love the Z50 but it’s still new to me.
Never usedd a strap for long. When i put it on the camera it always bothers me and does not help with the shoot. Especially on tripods and in more creatove top/bottom shots
Could you test the lens vr with the digital stabilization outside? The vr in the telesphoto lens is supposed to be really good too. Colors look amazing on it. Im debating on the g95, a6400 and this camera.
I’m really impressed with the colors so far, it looks almost exactly like the z6 😳
The Nikon is the best of the three, best ergonomics and image quality.
Nice job on the video, it looks like you figured things out with video AF. I do think the video straight out of the Z50 looks nice (at least compared to what else I've used). I like the camera, but think there are some missed opportunities that would have benefited users even if the price or size was bumped up a bit. Having a flip down screen meant for selfies and vlogging, yet not having sensor based shake reduction is an odd combination (also an odd combination for the other native Z lenses). Not going with the EN-EL15 is another odd choice. I'm sure quite a few Z6 and Z7 users would like a second body, but now they have to deal with different batteries if they do pick up a Z50.
I figured it out in that it doesn’t work, I don’t know why but the face tracking autofocus doesn’t work when the screen is flipped down unfortunately 🤷♂️
I'm curious now and don't have access to the camera anymore, so I sent a message to Nikon support, here us the response I got back: "Thank you for contacting Nikon. In regards to this matter, you would want to have the camera set to AF-A, and also make sure that the a2: Auto Area AF Face/Eye Detection set to Face Detection On to have the face be tracked."
Would like to see the quality of the jpegs on this camera
The video looks sharp.
Hoping to see you do review of the insta360 oneR
Peak Design strap is the only way to go! At least if you need to attach and detach the strap often
The Everyday Dad Its really nice how it takes just seconds and they have the hand wrist cuff too so thats cool. I just finished the video, great job! 👍 It looks like Sony is getting real heat from Nikon in both the FF and APS-C department
People seem to be getting spoiled these days, back in the dim dark ages we had no VR or IBIS, ISO 400 was high speed film and the gear weighed a ton. We still managed to handhold at 1/30 and get good images!
I am confused what to buy sony a6400 or Nikon Z50 🤔🤔 . any suggesions.
Thb that looks great
Hi, for image quality the nikon z50 or fuji xt30?
Nikon - the finest!!
Loved it
I m waiting for the result
Why are US chargers such that you plug them in? Sounds hard to use. Here at least Canon has figure 8 connector and you use a standard cable. I have all my changers in top of my fridge and just put the battery in and turn the power strip on.
I don't use the camera strap that comes in the box. I used to but stopped.
Can Print out Taken from Z50 are better can be used for Wedding
Those white rear lens caps can most likely be used to white balance.
i would like to have version vithout viewfinder..
Tamron we need the 16-300mm Z mount Please !!!
8:58 hi EverydayDad! Being a a6400 and SmallRig fan, have you tried the L bracked for the a6400? You take the "L" bit from the side away and you get a much better grip, and an built in arca swiss plate! That bracket turned the a6400 into a joy to hold and handle :)
So weird the screen flips down. I want to like what Niko. Is making, but they have some weird decisions on their cameras.
Battery life?
Why does the gh5 looks soft?
have you notice that your G camera that you are shooting video with gives your face and skin a little bit of redness. While when you tested Sony Alpha A6600 it showed your real skin color. Check it out.
considering buying one to replace my a6400.
I wouldn't do that cuz I'd miss flip up screen, size, picture profile, AF, lens ecosystem of A6400.
I know what it takes to be a Shen Yun dancer. Thanks youtube for telling me 50,000 times.
I use the strap on my d500
If they make us share rooms we are totally building bunk beds!!! -runs to twitter to post Stepbrothers gif-
@@TheEverydayDad Then I made the mistake again of replying to videos on my personal account...why i keep logging out of this one idk... o right. It has old footage for the new video I made lol. I need to get it together!!
Why do they still make down flipping screens? WHY
@@garfieldirwin Even for photographers, that's ridiculous, how would it come handy on a tripod?
I sold my a6600 for this Nikon z50 also hand the z6 it’s way better than Nikon a6000 series
Should I get this one or the a7ii?
I’m into street photography, I shoot under some light rain and I love low light performance!
@@mariac5432 a7ii is a full frame camera if you can buy it but I would recommend you a a7iii or a7vi
I like sony 6600 but it's 50k expensive in India than Nikon z50. And i like to tell you I purchasing Z50 in 90K in next 2 days ☺📸
Psssst.... Tell Casey!
this is a nice looking vlogger.. i mean camera
skin tone looks less appealing in that indoor shot, and a bit over sharp. outdoor shot looks good.
I use the strap
Smallrig vlog cage
Supplied strap?...never!
CANON is KING! 💪
Hey man I love your videos but thought I give you some advice, I've worked in the video industry for a few years now and I think you need to rebrand how you do your thumbnails. With the 100000 subscribers you should be getting more views but I think your thumbnail is starting to get old, I think your channel should look more professional or at least change up the style a little bit, just a friendly suggestion

This camera is awesome
Sir can yuh Gift Me A Camera.
From Nepal😊
Happy that the Ohio state hat is gone 😉
Now days every youtuber , vloger and filmmakers uses canon , Sony and Panasonic cameras . when i hear nikon it remind me same what happened to Nokia mobile. They are sticking with their old DSLR cameras.
Sony has done a great job manipulating social media creators with free trips, etc. They have certainly mastered marketing to millennials.
I would like it if it didn’t lock up on me

A flip down screen is the most dumb thing i can imagine
@@aidannavarroo they do. the biggest problem is you cant use a selfie stick or a tripod so i would be useless for me. i flipoutscreen like my gh5 has is the onlx way to go
@@aidannavarroo ja but you need a solution and this is a step too much for me when you only have to buy a cam with a flipout.
So it's their version of the M50. Yuck, awful flippy screen. Not buying it. :-(
Garbage screen decision on what otherwise is a good camera. Frustrating.
The Z50 is killed by the A6400 and the XT30 right after it was announced lol
Current mirrorless APSC cameras under $1000
a6400 - terrible ergonomics, rage finder EVF, and no front dial
x-t30 - 10 minute limit in 4k, similar to Sony's 1" point and shoot
m6mkII - no built in EVF and very soft 4k no need to pixel peep, and special mount
z50 - pro ergonomics, sharp 4k with great AF, great EVF, great grip, shares mount with full frame, and great image quality. All the z primes work perfectly on the z50, the 50mm at it's current price of under $500 seems like the perfect third lens. Video is great, I switch to the neutral profile and it retains detail and gives a nice natural look. AF is great, it picks up eyes, video AF is on par with DPAF, tracking works great, choose the subject and it follows it all over the field of view.
Also some quick pointers, you have to put it in AF-F mode and Auto-area AF for face detect, and using the neutral picture profile will remove the heavy handed contrast and sharpness. AF-C will not continuously auto-focus in video mode.
James Ryan The Z50 is best of the bunch, no question. The kit lenses are also the best in my opinion! Nikon did a great job.
