Tablature is another tool that can help some people right away. Learning to read music notation is obviously extremely beneficial, but to slag off tab is ridiculous, especially coming from a guy with his enormous amount of ability and taste.

5:58 . That's kinda harsh . I grew up in a small town and had a few good guitar players but they were pricks and the ones who were nice were bad teachers . Tab helped me get started and showed me a suggestion on where to play the piece . It would cut record copy in half .
J-man 80 he didn’t learn to read till later on - I think he means for working professionals ... if you are a session guy you probably should be able to read . Many don’t tho.

I do the same tone mod to my strats, not having a tone on the bridge pickup always sounds too bright to me
