Bangladesh me Faridpur and dhaka me mere nana nani and dada dadi k ghar hai. Muslims ne occupy kar liya riot k bad. Fir mere grandparents bengal aa gye refugees ban kar. Lekin isse jyada dukh iss baat ka hota hai ki bengal is becoming new Bangladesh. Sometimes I think, hmare next generation ko apne hi desh me refugee na hona pad jaye just like kashmiri Pandits.
My ancestors were also from Faridpur and Dhaka.
So why didn’t they come back when deshe as independent? When Mujib got full control people could have returned back to make the nation again. But they wanted to remain in the slums of kolkata as they thought india is the land for hindus!

Dhaka is a PRIMATE CITY , meaning no other city or town has as many people in the country, and the difference in population size with 2nd or 3rd largest cities are astronomical, that's why rest of the country doesn't feel as much crowded as Dhaka does.
But Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated not like Thailand. Even Bangkok is populated, overall their country is not in list of densely populated countries.
