I'm doing a report on the Berlin wall at the moment and I came across this film which was inspired by the real life escape from East Berlin of the Strelzyk family, the human spirit truly is an amazing thing.

Hello newsboys600, This is very good movie about people trying to scape to freedom and a totalitarian terrorist communist government. That is what communist governments and their dictators do, they terrorize their citizens and kill them or jail them when they want to get rid of them. You should see the movie the Berlin Tunnel as well, I think is a 1980 film. It will send you chills through your bones and you will be thankful to live in a free contry like the USA.
@newsboy600 Hi Kale, I just saw the movie again and the two families scaped from East Germany to West Germany not from East Berlin to West Berlin. Was I wrong? I will eventually buy this wonderful Disney movie and have it in my collection. Is a must have to teach everyone we know and don't know about how bad communism was in the 20th century. Maybe those occupy people should see this movie and learn some history of our planet. I recommend also the movie "The Berlin Tunnel" 1980.

The German “remake” is much more authentic, but I guess this wasn’t bad..
John Hurt was a good choice for the lead starring role.
I prefer the German movie released in 2018 simply called "Balloon"
Yeah balloon is a better made film and not cheesy like this disney film
