You just can't pick one musician. Because of their cooperation and their reciprocal stimulus it's superlative music. They are all amazing. Congrats! This one will definitely remain as one of my favorites.
I agree with you that you can't pick amongst this group. It is a total musical conglomerate! That would be like asking, Which is your most important tire when ur flyin down the freeway ?
Evan Christopher playing an Albert System clarinet.....wow! As impressive as Anat and Ken sound, getting around on an Albert like Evan does is simply mind boggling and something you rarely (if ever) see anymore!
I love it could listen ALL day this is what made me take up the clarinet. ! Had a fantastic life but can't play like this .but still enjoy it .and hope my students do Bravo Bravo Bravo 🤗
To use the car analogy from above, playing the Albert system horn is like driving a Model A compared to an Indy car. Well sorta. The Boehm system definitely has its advantages.
Very fun to listen. I ran into Ken Peplowski at the Nighttown venue in Clevland, Ohio, his hometown. His playing always, and that of the other clarinetist and other musicians here, give joy to my life. Thanks.
@@samking73 Calm down. That angry dude there played his clarinet in his 5th grade talent contest and got beat out by a real cute little 3rd grade baton twirler who dropped her baton three times.

I'd never heard of the gal. But Ken has been my favorite modern player. But I've just taken a pause to collect my sel after hearing her am wondering who would even dare go on stage after her performance! Wow!! Ok, resume and". no disappointments!!!
Wow, what a group. LIkely the 3 greatest jazz clarinet players in the world at this time (RIP Kenny Davern). And the rest- all at the top of the list on their instruments as well. Unbelievable band. But man that tent looks hot.
Wow what an amazing clarinet players there is in this great song swing that music especially my all-time favorite musician and that Cohen she is one of the best boy that was clarinets can really swing I love it I hope those clarinet players can record music together because they sound really good.
The more clarinets that swing and play jazz very well the better I love it especially on that Cohoe and she is one of the greatest musicians ever who can play tenor sax and clarinet and the other two clarinet players are great as well the more clarinet stop playing solo the better I love it I cannot get enough of jazz clarinet.
Evan Christopher has some great videos for basic kid and adult New Orleans sound teaching. They are in a series with “Jazz At Lincoln Center”. It’s great.
I take back what I said about Anat Cohen not swinging when she played jazz on her early recordings. She really blew that stick and swung big time! I stand corrected!
What an imagination Anat has on the clarinet; she is a joy to listen to; everyone whom she performs with has amazing dexterity on the clarinet--Roger Plafkin, Plafkin Farms, Ada, Michigan
These outstanding "keepers of the flame" could likely have blown any of the real flames off the bandstand (from a technique point of view). 4 Stars for everyone! And, how does Anat get so much volume out of her horn ? (does she blow the large bore Leblanc?) The guy to my right,by the way,is my good friend Daniel Bechet whose Dad,Sidney, would have loved to hear these players!
Anat play excellent, but i prefer listen Ken Peplowski style. Though Evan, not far behind. I love listen these three great clarinet performers. Long life to Jazz.
I agree. Pep has this clean, precise phrasing, and a wealth of ideas. And I know that Anat Cohen can play better than this - but I'm simply not fond of her style; she phrases very carelessly, generally, and some notes seem to come out just by chance.
@@mambojazz1Peplowski est le meilleur , pas de doute . Christopher a choisi de jouer plus en finesse , en soignant ses phrasés . Il a bien fait car il a montré ainsi la variété de son jeu . +SheepPeep I can relate. My professional life is with the clarinet, but not in jazz. If my otherwise excellent middle school band director had allowed me in the jazz bands things might have been different. He said, "play sax" - I gave it a try and it was easy enough at that level but something that felt right for me. I should have found a good teacher who was a jazz player, but I ended up as a band director and classical player/teacher. Good enough, I have no complaints, but there is still that what if....
I think he issue is that the "jazz band " in school is really Stage Band and it has a set instrumentation. Clarinet and flute don't show till the saxs get asked to pull out their doubles...
@@tombrown9424 can't the arrangements be easily adapted for Clarinet? I love a swinging Clarinet of any genre. It's one of the reasons I'm so drawn to Western Swing (Bob Wills is still The King)

These are three great clarinetists. I love listening to Anat Cohen. Listening to that lady is the musical equivalent of driving an Indy race car.

They don’t like giving away all the solos
it may be simply that the arrangements available to the director didn't include clarinet parts
