- Deadlock sports a significant headshot multiplier of 2, coupled with generous hitboxes and very low recoil this creates an incredible opportunity to deal more damage than other players.

I see a few people complaining about the headshot multiplayer and honestly I hope they find some kind of middle ground here. It’s a moba of course but it’s an fps game too. Aiming for the head should be encouraged and rewarded.
well yes of course but when you get stunned that means you are death because headshoot modifier very great to see yourself death in 1second when you stop moving very encouraging to play vindicta in the skies
@@vectivus3499 Then learn to counter the CCs
Just make a per character headshot multiplier, someone like warden shouldn't have 200%, meanwhile vindicta should be rewarded that much since she's a squishy dps
@@fitmotheyap that would be a good work around for sure! Be interesting to see
@@vectivus3499 If you get stunned it's usually because you're out of position and if you have no way to counter stuns its because you're not using at least one of your 12 damn item slots to counter a stun.
They should tighten up the hitboxes if they intend to keep that multiplier. A 2x multiplier is crazy for how lenient Deadlock hitboxes are and how slow characters move early. They're not as lenient compared to current Overwatch but that game has instantaneous acceleration and direction change so models are still hard to hit.
This is something you notice playing as or against Warden, who can lock people down and stack weapon damage multipliers. Mid to late game he can literally 3 headshot most heroes if he gets his 3 off.
@@vitorsamuel777 yea I always am careful going against a warden head on it’s suicide most of the time like solo diving a beefd up abrams (he doesn’t need much to dominate atleast 3 people) gamesense will develop when people start actually playing deadlock not some other hero shooter game
One more thing, AFAIK most Deadlock hero weapons are projectile only Beebop that a Hitscan. So, sometimes can be hard to do a headshot.
I aim for body/head about half and half. I find a lot of characters actually have lacking head hitboxes, and if I'm not mistaken some characters have a resistance to it. It's also not always easy due to the third person over-shoulder camera and high movement that everybody has access to. I think it's currently decently balanced because of the other issues aiming for heads does in this game, on top of just being a smaller part of the body like usual
Man, I see people complain in the comments about headshot multiplier and I really get frustrated by it. As someone with a background in FPS and none in Mobas, I feel like headshots are not rewarding enough in this game, specially because of how hard they are to hit with all the crazy shit happening at your screen at the same time.
great video as always!
I actually would move some of that power to body shots. There’s so much stuff going on I think it would make the game a smoother experience.
tl;dw Aim for the head.
There, that's his magical aiming technique. Doing what you'd do in any damn shooter.
There is so many cheaters in these videos it’s crazy
insane aim
his aim is pretty basic tbh. it looks like he is better than he is because his is probably still playing in low tier lobbies
i struggle early lane for killing people with weaker damage high firerate characters but someone like geist shreds so easily with hs
@@soap6264 yea i noticed geist is extremely strong in lane she has range and bombs and when you get close life steal, geist is a crazy character she’s literally s tier to me I’ve seen a geist drop 108k dmg and crazy healing because her life steal ult
Lol man I play moba's, I cant even aim normally I'm not going for headshots, if anything they should take away the headshot extra damage
dude looks like a an aimbot from wish. those shots and flicks are dirty, not 100%, but geez.
I can barely hit body shots and even miss souls.
Realy gotta play more and get better aim.
Just hit ur headshots lmao
Rodriguez Michelle Miller Donna Davis Donald
The few times I’ve laned against a player who reliably can hit head shots have been soul crushing. Early game headshots are WAY too powerful. If they want moba players to continue playing Deadlock they really need to lower the multiplier. Imo.
tbh considering they're still heavily updating their moba title in dota and barely updating their fps title in cs2, i have a feeling they're trying to convert some of the fps community into moba than the other way around. or at the very least have a game for the overwatch hero-shooter community to have another game to bounce into than just valorant
@@hao2000ki You may be right. But if aim is more important than anything else in the laning phase they’re going to lose me as a player.
Us, FPS players. know nothing about jungling, laning-phases, wave-control, itemization, etc. We'll have to adapt , and MOBA players will have to adapt to aiming.
@@tenorenstromgit good lol
@@allanprodrigues Yeah, not gonna happen. I’m 44 and my aim will never people who grew up with mouse aiming. In my day you aimed with wasd. And you never hit a head shot:)
I hope they lower headshot damage someday.
You'll 100% play better with a higher sensitivity, 5+ swipes for 180° is insane, 1 swipe for ~180-360° is normal, anything outside of that just hurst your aim in the long run
Definitely not true lmao
@@GageMason maybe not true for tactical shooters, but this isn't a tactical shooter
It’s very likely someone who grinds aim trainers like struth experimented with his sens and adjusted it to his liking.
As a fellow Geist main, I nuked my sens low and saw improvement
@alvesvaren It's not true for plenty of games lmao. You don't need a crazy high sens even in a game like this dog. Low sens works just fine. You just gotta make sure you have the space to move your mouse lol.
@@GageMason 180 deg per swipe is low,
this game has a fundamental identity crisis. We will be on the back side of the hype curve in a few months. maybe Marathon will have lasting power once its out and everyone will forget about this.
I don't understand the reasoning why it's an identity crisis. It's a new thing of its own.
i highly doubt anyone is forgetting deadlock its one of the most addicting games ive played in a long time which is crazy because its an incomplete alpha
Let's be honest. You showed us mostly Lady Geist clips that has improved burst item that scales with enemies max HP.
I do agree hitting headshots is a good thing but 80% of your dmg came from your bomb.
With how movement is in this game getting consistent is harder compared to other games.
Thats just not correct. He showed loads of clips where most of his damage came from headshots. I normally wouldn't comment, but that's just blatantly wrong.
blud really just made a video of just aim for the head lol in a shooter
yeah im legit just gonna change the title of this video to "aim at the head in deadlock to do more damage" for people with dearrow
A better title would be “Deadlocks 2x headshot multiplier is underutilised”
Thats why the cheater is using aimbot in Deadlock now
You will enjoy video games a lot more if you stop looking for reasons why you lost unfairly.
@@blackomega34 dont forget binding keys in console enjoy
@@blackomega34there are cheaters in this game though
@@blackomega34 its not about losing or wining its the experience a win wont mean anything to cheaters because they dont enjoy the game they enjoy cheating and ruining peoples experience they somehow get off to the idea of someone being angry at them yet never even seeing them, it sounds to me like a god complex
@@supawithdacream5626 You are once again assuming this is actually to do with cheaters, rather than someone losing and looking for ways to cope.
I'm genuinely puzzled what the appeal of this game is. (granted I haven't played it yet) But just as a spectator, nothing about the game seems appealing or satisfying. not visually, nor gameplay-wise. I feel like i'm missing something obvious.
I have seen a lot of takes that are similar, many streamers I've watched love playing it but when spectating games are clearly bored/lost, I think it's to do with how much there is to do while playing, you're constantly thinking about the next move and planning/reacting to things, and I think that appeals to a lot of people to make it feel very immersive, but if you're not a part of that mental decision making and planning it all seems a bit random and unconnected. Maybe not a great explanation but I similarly love playing the game, but don't really enjoy watching full gameplay, but rather more videos like this going into depth about strategies and options
I'm surprised you think the visual style isn't unique? It feels like 90% of games in the past decade are either fantasy, modern, or sci fi. There's really few that has Occult + 1940's America. Also, being Valve they're keeping the design philosophy of making the characters more visible than the map, and less neon flashbangs everywhere.
well you wont understand much from watching it, it's moba-like, it has a diverse item shop that adds mods to your base character and buffs them up for final take of the enemy base.
The game is divided into segments, like lane phase which is the beginning of the game where you fight for space between two towers, imo its very important during the lane phase not to feed your opponent so when he takes down your tower, your teammates wont have a hard time against them when they eventually gank a lane (multiple 2+ to a lane to add pressure and take a tower fast).
Then you have the mid game which is comprised of fighting for space taking down walkers (tier 2 towers), farming souls, jungling, the mid game is where you try to get fed all your core items, then when the additional slots open up (after talking down towers) you can buy luxury items that will end the game.
I mean you have to play it yourself to come up with ur own opinion, I wont lie, when I first saw this game it looked terrible to me and I kept wondering what valve was up to, turns out they were cooking this up and to me its the most fun Ive had in gaming in a long time. Im sure lots will change, metas will form and the game will go under many more changes in its life span as most games do but playing this alpha was a nice little experience, no loot boxes no skins no politics no drama just pure gameplay and its super fun but also frustrating at time ahah
arent almost all moba game when watching from a spectator view boring? you need to understand what is happening in deadlock just like other moba game in order to enjoy watching it
