Nice! I am looking to buy a Stepcraft M1000 as well (Belgium). Was it difficult to assemble the electronic part?

      Hi Aub,
Assembly was little less complicated then Lego Technics, even electronics. there is no soldering involved, just connections between components via screwed clamps, so nothing to fear there. The instuctions manual is perfectly simple in that regard.
I'm looking forward to seeing your projects here.

@@Sebastian_Damm Thanks! The clear instructions are one of the reasons to probably go for an M1000. I looked into Sorotec (they are probably more sturdy) but rather user-nonfriendly. Did you upgrade your m1000 to HIWIN ball screws and a closed looper system?

      @@lush462 I did not.
positive reasoning: I was going to start of with wood and see the limits of the mashine fist hand before upgrading it because of loads or chatter exceeding the mashines capabilkities.
negative resoning: telling my wife i need a 3k€ mashine that might never make money was a strech as is. :D
before upgrading to the ball screws, i have to have a more decent table and the toolchanger might me a more reasonable upgrade as well for semi lights out operation. (My opinion, of course, -- every planed workload is different).
As for the semi closed loop... i was going to upgrade to it, but... I thought it would be a correction mechanism -->> I lost a step, i will now do 1 more with slightly more force/speed/whatever...
But its more... -->> I lost a Step, i will save your workpiece an stop the mashine.
Still a cool function... and would have saved me a 120€ piece of wood... but its not what is needed if your carefull... (again my opinion)
Lets see how it goes ;)
      BUT
I would still always reccomend the M series, because of the pricerange ;-).
I Hope it helps in your descisionmaking.
