  • Measure Outlines and Points in the Field
    The Leica DISTO S910 and the DISTO X4 P2P package are ideal for determining corner points of a property. In combination with the DISTO Plan App the outlines can be drawn directly as a plan. Important points such as a tree or manhole cover can also be recorded in this way. The data can then be exported as a DWG or DXF file for further processing in CAD.
    Tip: If you use the "Raw" format as export, the height differences of the measured points are included.

    Where are the azimuths coming from? What accuracy? Do you get to put in height to centre of prism, and height of disto above station?

    • @LeicaGeosystemsCH
      @LeicaGeosystemsCH  6 місяців тому +1

      All measurements transmitted into the DISTO Plan App are possible thanks to the inclination sensors, encoders for horizontal angle measurement and rotation measurement inside of the DST 360 adapter, respectively inside of DISTO S910. The height differences between the single points are based on the first measured point and the default height cannot be adjusted by a predefined value. Accuracy is 10 mm at 10 meters and angle accuracy is 0.2°.

    How it is different from Android apps that use gps to measure any type of irregular area with hundreds or 1000 points just by holding your phone and make a walk around the perimeter of the area.

      I used "GPS field area measure" app and it gives decent result, now if I try same measurement with leica meter, what benefit I will get in terms of accuracy ? and at the cost of making such setup, why a person will leave the easyness of just using app and cost effective free solution.

      @@rajendrameena150 Hi, the choice between a GPS-based solution and our Leica DISTO laser distance meters really depends on the level of accuracy and the specific workflows you need for your job.
      GPS-based apps operate on satellite positioning, and their precision can be affected by various factors such as signal strength, environmental conditions, or the quality of the GPS signal. Due to these variables, we cannot accurately determine the exact precision of these apps.
      On the other hand, our Leica DISTO devices are engineered for high precision, offering measurement accuracy within ±1.0 mm at 10 meters. This level of accuracy is essential for tasks where precise measurements are critical, such as in construction, surveying, and interior design.

    Could you possibly put the target plate on a tripod too? Just wondering if this could be achieved with just 1 person doing the measurements?

      Theoretically, this would be possible if a timer were used where the user can set the trigger time to 2, 5, 10 or 30 seconds. However, it is always more efficient and accurate to carry out this type of measurement with the help of another person.

    • @LeicaGeosystemsCH

      Once the DISTO connects to the DISTO Plan App and the connection is established, there is no upper limit between measurements, provided the batteries are sufficiently charged.

      @LeicaGeosystemsCH So it's possible for one person to do this instead of 2? I mean you could stand the target pole on its own straight with a holder device and then head back to the device?

    0:34 "The measurement of the first 2 points latter provides the reference height or X-axis of the plan" ... didn't you mean "and" not "or" ? Also, I'm not sure how you get the XY coordinates of each point, I thought that was the job of Total Stations....

      @LeicaGeosystemsCH  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, you are right. We will correct at least in the captions. Depending what export format you choose from DISTO Plan app, you will get either a 2D plan with dimensions and area information or a 3D CAD file with all the measured points also with height information.

      @@LeicaGeosystemsCH Yes, the file format, but I hadn't realized there was a little motorised monopod capturing 2 rotations. I understand that's how the Disto can calculate a 3D coordinate. That's awesome ... I will get one.

      Good to see a video showing measuring in the field, have an x4 and used it several times to measure gardens and driveways. Export works well. Seeing the red dot is difficult and the screen is not great. But a lot cheaper than a total station.

      How to measure the plan with different benchmark? I mean if i must moving the disto x4/s910 to other posisition to continue measure the next point.

    • @LeicaGeosystemsCH
      @LeicaGeosystemsCH  2 роки тому

      @@gacokwaci737 Sorry for the late response. I saw the question today by chance. There is no specific function for this. But for any measurement the first 2 measured points are defining the 0/0/0 point and the x-axis. So just start again with the same first two points and you can later adjust the layouts to each other in the CAD system.

    I have a disto x4 p2p and I'm trying to take a land survey with height differences. From the video description it appears that I can do that in p2p plan function and export raw 3d. I have don't this and am trying to import it into Archicad and all I'm getting are the 2d lines without any height information or 3d view. Is there any further information you can give me that might help? Thanks in advance.
