Tip learned thru experience: Do buy containers measured for the space they will live in. Do NOT buy containers based on the items you will fill them with.
I tried to order the extra battery after you put it up yesterday but that wouldn't process through. I tried again today after my " you left something in your cart" message and it said sold out. I also saw now that there was a combo with the extra battery and I would have bought that first if it had been offered to get the extra battery.
My mother had black and white tiles put in on the diagonal of her entrance foyer and it was stunning, and she did it way back in 1971! She had traveled extensively in Europe and that’s where she fell in love with it. You can’t go wrong with it. It truly is timeless! Maybe in my next house for me!
Just a huge shout out to all of you on your live video with the Athena Power Tools launch. I just loved everything about that live!! It was very heartwarming, inspiring, motivating, and encouraging. To come back from being beaten down to being so dedicated and determined was powerful. You have a great team around you. We all love ya, girl and don't stop changing the world! ❤
Team checkerboard! Timeless! Brass gallery rails are amazing, but SO expensive, please DIY!! I’d love to see that. Also, the Athena tool line is gold, love it! Your. Ideas are gold too!
I love how you matched your nail polish to the drill color in your promo video! So happy for you. Hope the whole adventure is a huge success & brings you joy.
Congrats on your new Athena drill launch NataLee!, she’s a beauty! I’m team checkerboard and team paint😂 A good paint job can do wonders for a room!! 💕💕💕💕
The black and white flooring is super elegant and timeless. Many years ago, our First Lady of KY redecorated the Governor's Mansion. She had a room with this flooring, and I remember it from when I was in elementary school!
I have always loved black and white marble flooring! The gold trim on shelves is so classy expensive looking. Everything in this video is true your paint job and organization etc. Your drill is beautiful ❤.
You are absolutely right about the checkerboard floor! I am a French country/cottage girl and am planning to install a rustic take on this floor in my entryway.
I concur on the paint. Expensive paint goes on easier also!! Work smarter not harder is my motto and you can still do a great remodel for less. Paint is still a cheaper way to update a room in the most inexpensive way to go! I took all the real estate courses for my area and never took the exam. I decided to stay in nursing but oh I learned so much. Paint, hardware, staging not empty houses, house warranties, are only a few things that are inexpensive ways to sell your house quickly also a St Joseph’s Statue and a prayer goes a long way. I believe in him completely. I have sold and bought many homes and he has been a part of every one. The longest it has taken to sell my home is 11 days!❤
Definitely team checkered/harlequin - I have been wanting to do my laundry and kitchen for years but the square tiles haven’t been in style. I’m getting closer to doing it now. I love your tips.
Love your channel! Black and white is elegant but COLD and BUZY ! In my opinion! I LOVE WARM WOODS ! RICH COLORS ! Does not coordinate with a more traditional look! LOVE! LOVE! The BRASS RAILS ! YES! DIY THIS PLEASE! HAPPY FALL 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🎃
The black and white checkerboard pattern was first popular in Georgian England, and is appropriate for traditional homes in European styles (English, French, etc.) I agree with you, they are incredibly chic ESPECIALLY when executed in tone-on-tone instead of stark black and white. I find crisp black and white too contrast-y, too hard on the eyes. My favorite floor was a warm taupe French limestone with a dark slate French limestone. Gorgeous! I'm also a fan of gallery railings on shelves. A very practical feature. I am not such a big fan of art prints. I prefer using small embroideries, large beautiful artisanal fabrics, using some creativity to have something real rather than a flat print (although some art is supposed to be a print). I found an antique (WWII era, I believe) kimono and used that on a wall. I've also used too-small-to-be-useful antique rugs as wall hangings. I'd advise a little bit more creativity or some photography rather than flat prints in imitation of oil paintings.
YES on the checkerboard floor! YES on the shelf railing, but since I’m currently remodeling my kitchen, I think I’d like either copper, or brushed bronze, or wrought iron black! Love your new ‘girl tools’, can we incorporate pink? 😄💓
Yes! Team Diamond Pattern floors. Definitely timeless! A friend just purchased a 100+ year old historical home and it has the original diamond pattern marble floors. They’re stunning! I also love a good harlequin pattern, too.
I just love you Natalee!!! Everything you do, you do with your whole heart…..and it shows!! I was going to go down the path of a more “elegant” style home, but I have a 1925 colonial and LOVE colonial/primitive decor….so that’s where I’m heading. Any chance you’d be doing a few more prim ideas??? I actually had 8 panels of WHITE sheers that weren’t going to look right with my burgundy gingham drapes (as they were more “aged” looking). I was SOOO proud of myself for brewing up a GARAGE can full of tea, and soaked each panel for 4 minutes each. What a SPECTACULAR look I achieved and didn’t have to buy new!!! This type of “fix” comes from watching YOU!!! It would be something you would do and NOT spend the extra money! So….thank you for everything you’ve brought to us…..and Friday I’m ordering my new drill!!! Love to the Callahan family from Rochester NY ❤
These ideas were awesome! I love grey and white checkered flooring. The simple idea of a good paint job, pretty storage solutions and of course high end art were my favorite!😉 Thank you for sharing my website! You’re the best!💕
I absolutely love a black and white checked floor. In my first house which was a little cottage, hunter green was really big at the time, and my little kitchen had a green and white checked floor with white cabinets. So stinking cute with a little elegance!
So proud of you and your power tool!!! You go girl!!! I love watching your video’s. Just finished remodel last spring. I don’t want to start over, but your video’s tempt me. I love your energy and joy.
Absolutly love all of your ideas in this video. The black and white and gray and white flooring. I am 49 and as long as I can remember I have always wanted this look. If I did not live in a mobile home..I would def have this as my flooring in the kitchen area. ❤
The black and white floor reminds me of my Aunt Toots's kitchen, LOL! Not really a fan, but good walk down memory lane! Congratulations on the launch for your drill! Can't wait to see what is next!
Congratulations NataLee on the power tool venture! I’ll join Team Checkerboard. Great video many affordable ideas especially painting with good quality paint for starters. I have been happy with the high end Behr products.
I love the black and white tile. I don't do brass anything,I had tons of brass accents in the eighties. Lately I am into the black matte metals. I do love your show.
Smart home features are probably the easiest thing on this list to add to your home, believe it or not. :) My husband is kind of a nerd about smart home stuff and almost all of the various smart switches, bulbs, lights, locks, etc. will work with either Google Home or Amazon Alexa (we use Google Home primarily). At first I was kind of bemused about the whole smart home stuff but now I LOVE it. We can control almost our entire house via voice or from our phones (thermostat, home security system, cameras, locks, lights, fans, heaters, etc.). And I love the routines you can program. I can tell Google 'good morning' and it will turn on various lights, turn off the fan in the bedroom, etc. It's awesome. And you can start small. Our first smart 'thing' was the bedroom light switch. Then a Ring doorbell camera. Then the thermostat. Over the last few years we've slowly replaced all of our light switches, added smart plugs to various devices, added additional security cameras (Wyze makes great cameras that are super affordable), and that really helps on the budget front. :)
Ooooooohhh, I loved these ideas!! Especially the marble countertops, backsplash and a ledge. Then you elevated that by showing us the sculpted marble!! I've never seen that before. WOW!! What an impact!! I so wish my pantry looked like the ones you showed. Ahhh!! To me, it was soothing to look at, actually. I would love to see you do any of these ideas that you haven't already done. I don't know why I want to see them because, I already know they'll turn out perfectly, as does everything you do!! I do like watching the process/steps that are taken, so I suppose that's my reason!! And BTW, you're "spot-on" about the paint. Couldn't agree more!! I love the new drill!! Can't wait to purchase one!! The color is absolutely perfect!! So very proud of you and for you!! You're absolutely amazing!! 💞💞
NataLee, you are such an inspiration! My husband and I just bought our first home & I can’t wait to try some of your projects on it!!❤️ we’ve been watching your videos to get lots of inspo & are ready to tackle some DIY’s! I’m curious if you could make a video (or if you have in the past?) about tools you recommend when first getting started on DIY’s? Like what saws, nailers, etc to buy. I’ve already asked for your new drill for Christmas! So excited for you & your new launch!🩵 thanks for being such a great inspo!
Hi NataLee. Great video! First, absolutely loved the Athena livestream the other day. Can’t wait to get my Lady Jane drill! I love having art hanging throughout my home. I paint but I always check out the art section of any thrift store I go to. Have found many really beautiful paintings for not much money. I loved the marble flooring but we have solid oak flooring. If I build another home, I might use that idea. Great tips!
yes i know about you drill, i have ordered one, but a bit worried about adapting to a uk plug. well done sweetheart, show off as much as you want you deserve it.
Wishing you a world of success with your great Athena! (You cracked me up when you said “but wait, there’s more! 😂) I love the checker look. Unfortunately I didn’t have the nerve to pull it off in my main floor, but I did it on a smaller scale with a marble powder room floor. White, black and taupe. Thanks for the great tips!!
I’m a navy/white girl…girl? LOL……(81). but I have always admired black/white floor tiles in every decade. Very classy. I agree of the best paint job ever. Hopefully walls were skim coated perfectly smooth. No popcorn ceilings. I love art. Most of my prints are bought at art museum gift shops and have been with me for decades. Never tired of them. Professionals framed and matted and definitely worth it. Galley’s or other arrangements instructions 😂can be found. Love where you live!
Okay!!!! You’ve actually blown my MIND!!!! I love the DRILL!!! Way to go to you!! I’m so happy for you! I know you are going to succeed in this new venture! Congratulations, Natalee!!
First of all, congrats on the power tools line! Looks amazing! Second of all, love your ideas on how to make your house more expensive, but I think you still need to have like an esthetic feel, so you'd know how to combine everything with good taste. Wish I had that...
Absolutely team marble/checker board ! I currently have monochrome in my entire open concept house and it truly is timeles NataLee ! Or should I say Lady Jane/Athena ! As Always Love &Blessings from Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦❤ xo
Well, your live on the launch was great !!! 🙂🙂🙂 Greetings from Germany 🙂🙂🙂 Your ideas are fantastic, but I couldn't resist to comment: Checkered floors look luxurious but attract dirt like a magnet... Marble is marvelous but not very robust and a bad choice for kitchens (acid, scratches) - granit is great in work-spaces... The idea of a curved backslash is wonderful - actually I own an antique vanity-unit with a marble-top and it looks sooo beautiful... Your tips on painting are priceless...!!! ...wall-deco is really a matter of taste - a good frame can do the work, or an interesting arrangement...no "kitsch" is a good idea and do not buy "just something"... Elevating/exchanging hardware or furniture handles is a great tip and also frugal !!! You are so right: the first impression counts !!! Remote/smart controls are somehow protecting and money-saving, but on the other hand there is the risk of being hacked or so... Cleanliness and organization are really important and also beautiful, but especially in the kitchen open shelves are not recommended, because when there is real cooking and not only microwaving, a lot of cooking fumes, odours, dust etc. will settle in the open space... And as you said at the end (my interpretation): Do not get overwhelmed, do things according to your tempo and your life-situation. 🙂🙂🙂
I really like the checker board floors, but in very large tiles. Please do the brass embellished shelving diy. I want to add the shelf ledge to my vanities...I'll be remodeling my bathrooms in the upcoming months, and I'll be using your video for inspiration on a budget. I truly admire all your projects...you're fantastic😊
I love the new tool. Congratulations! 🎈 I just think you are so amazing! Keep being your fun happy self. It's so nice to see all your great ideas. I learn so much from watching you. Thank you ♥️🌴

I love checkered floors. The best. Some dance floors were designed like that too
I have always loved black and white marble flooring! The gold trim on shelves is so classy expensive looking. Everything in this video is true your paint job and organization etc. Your drill is beautiful ❤.
I too LOVE the black and white checker style flooring, it would not go in my neutral home, but this flooring is soooo elegant and stunning!

Free boxes from the P.O. covered in DT Contac paper can create a unified look on shelves.
I love the black and white tiles and so many great ideas here. Thank you for sharing.
So glad!
I am not into the checkerboard floor but I love the brass railings on the shelves.
Most definitely checkerboard! For my kitchen I would go with gray and white but not stark white.
I am team black and white floors, so elegant and what a statement when done right. Love the new drill, so cute!
XO Macenna recently did the checkered floor in her bathroom. Looked great.
Definitely team checkerboard...in marble. ❤
Love the checkerboard floor❤
Love, love, love the checkerboard!
Love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️. Would definitely love to see a DIY with the brass accent shelving. ❤❤❤
I’m definitely team checkerboard. ❤❤
I think the checkered diagonal is awesome. I’ve always loved it, but I think you really need a large space or area to lay it.
Hi! My father always said you get what you paid for! Enjoy your day! Thanks! 🤗🥰
Totally team check pattern!!! 😍😍
Ooooooohhh, I loved these ideas!! Especially the marble countertops, backsplash and a ledge. Then you elevated that by showing us the sculpted marble!! I've never seen that before. WOW!! What an impact!!

Well, your live on the launch was great !!! 🙂🙂🙂 Greetings from Germany 🙂🙂🙂
Your ideas are fantastic, but I couldn't resist to comment:
Checkered floors look luxurious but attract dirt like a magnet...
