  • I finally decided to open up an account with Fundrise after years of debate. Was the app trustworthy, would I lose my money? With all the mixed reviews out there, I just wasn't sure. But I really wanted to get into real estate investing and with Fundrise, you get access to private commercial and residential real estate even without being an accredited investor.

    I started Fundrise back in June of 2019. Did a initial $1000, then in 2020 didn't touch it much only added another $600. But all throughout that time it had gained in value (by acquiring properties) and paid dividends. So March of this year I decided to set a goal for myself and my family and started a monthly investment. I might not have a load of money to buy rental, but this one way I can invest in real estate. Totally hands off for me and makes money for me in the background.

    Fundrise is like safe place have you money grow. It's not Vanguard with extremely low fees, but good alternative to investor that had real estate, sold it, or got too old flip houses. One unfortunate thing is can't 1031 exchange real estate into this.

    Thanks so much for bringing up the interval fund. I was considering quitting Fundrise because the returns aren’t worth the illiquidity for me since I’ve become more seasoned in other types of investments. But I just looked into interval fund and you can redeem a nice chunk of it at no penalty. So I’m gonna keep the account now knowing that it’s not all untouchable.

    There’s a huge difference between Fundrise and Vanguard; vanguard is publicly traded which has made it extremely susceptible to panic selling. I saw fundrise grow steadily over the course of the pandemic while VNQ was down 30%. That’s because fundrise is illiquid and it isn’t publicly traded.

    • @k98killer
      @k98killer 3 роки тому +2

      On the other hand, this means that disciplined and opportunistic investors can potentially pick up VNQ shares at a discount when everyone else panic sells.

    Excellent review. I had been investing with Fundrise up until this past October. I had about 2K at that time but decided I would rather put that in the market (Nothing against Fundrise though). And yea, the redemption process is a bit of a pain (you have to wait until the end of the current quarter to get ya monaay).

      Nice one, This is a scary time for new investors but the best thing you can do is not to make decisions based on emotions. This could actually be a good time to buy more of your high conviction stocks or crypto on a discount Wealth is created during bear markets, not bull markets. If your portfolio is really effecting your mental health then delete the app and go for a walk Let the market do its thing and have a long time horizon. I buy and just trade long term more than ever , I have made over $17500 from weekly trading with Mrs Katelyn Ejmont Signals on UA-cam. Signal is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish

      I would say do not sell, because you're going to lock in the loss. You can leave it until the stock prices go back up. What are you invested in?

Also, do you know if you can have more than one pie? It doesn't seem to show me that option. I have a whole nother list waiting with just ETFs and another in the health industry à la COVID...

      @@Marsha_Ann What you should do is click into your portfolio and see which stocks are down. You can choose to reduce your allocation into those stocks or you can increase it so that your buying more while the price is low. And yes, you can create a new pie. I have a video on it. I’ll get the link
