The late Ray Towell, Operations Curator at the National Railway Museum, had a holiday home nearby and was a massive fan of these workings. He described the 37s' exhaust as being like "angels' wings" and the sound of them like "distant thunder".
Stunning. I wondered when someone was going to use the latest in AI upscaling on railway videos from this period, couldn't be happier that it is yourself with your fantastic source material.
Wow - your enhancement software gives me hope. I have tons of hi-8 footage from the 1990s shot with a Canon L1. It was the highest resolution at the time. I must delve deeper into your equipment to see if it can help me. Problem is - the L1 crapped out so have no way of playing my old tapes.
The days when S&T technicians would be on hand to fix the crossing gates with a can of WD40. Now all trains would be stopped for hours while a Rapid Response Squad comes from Plymouth 😐

What a great video. The sun was out, blue sky with classic traction. Happy days!
Just started on my archive of 37s, so lots more to come soon
Great video, and the upscaling is just stunning
Headphones in, and I'm back in time!

37-674 now up at the Strathspey Railway, Aviemore, Scotland.
7:28And they were allowed to walk along sidings with a weedkiller spray! Now you'd need a line possession to do that
How do you know they didn’t have a possession. He had a lookout too.
@@BenDover-cl1jf they wouldn't have had to have a possession just for a job like that then
Great quality!
