I chuckled when I saw "longwobs" earlier today. I was busy at the time. I went back to find this video to actually watch it and saw the picture has been fixed to longbows. I'll still call them "longwobs" from now on.
If I made a custom AoE map, would you consider playing it? If so, how do I send it to you? (Normal start and no weird scenario things, just an interesting map design)
The biggest difference is probably how to get to them. You need time (stone) and castles to mass them, unlike crossbow. So it's much easier to make feudal archers and naturally upgrade to xbow. Longwobs are typically more of a mid or late-castle age to imperial age unit. Depends on the map as well.
You cannot siege onager longbows, used to be Korean thing but it's no longer exists. So, FE Longbow is understandably very nasty due to it having little to no direct counter aside from unique civs traits.
If you need more detailed explanation: pocket is the player who is further away from the enemy and thus can build up more economy in relative safety (only applicable in 3v3 and 4v4), flank is the player who is closer to the enemy. In a proper team game pocket players typically pick cavalry civilizations and do cavalry, since it's more dependent on eco, while flanks pick archer civilizations and do ranged units. In "casual" games like in the video everyone does what they want, without much regard to competitive meta and flank/pocket roles.
Can anyone tell me what's an outpost rush? I googled it and didn't get any answers, but I've heard about it a lot. Since they are not military buildings in the sense that they don't do damage, is some kind of trolling to your rival? Or it just refers to building them forward to see what your opponent is doing?
I think its towerrushing, but instead of a tower you build an outpost, so your opponent builds a countertower and wastes his stone, while you only paid 5 stone for the outpost.
Hey Viper. Spirit of the Law and T90 say I should get Wheelbarrow around 30 pop yet you still didn't get it at 70 pop. You don't believe in Wheelbarrow?
I'm no prophet, but i predict if Viper replies he'll say "it depends". Spirit of the Law and T90 have basic assumptions in mind, like 1v1 or fast castle. You have to understand that at every stage of AOE2 you have to be thinking about what your enemy is doing, what you're teammates are doing (if applicable) and what you want to achieve. You cant afford eco upgrades any time the answer to that final question is "making as much military as i can".
@@mustafacagr1997 because gold miners (villages) bring in gold faster than trade carts, so when natural gold runs out (around 40mins game time normally) teams start trade
When you are " pocket " it means that you are between your allies, not on the sides. It also means that you can go for a more late game playstyle, like a rushcastle, and help your allies later (because being behind your allies make you less susceptible to attacks), but you can also go for more early to help your allies who will be attacked (the one who are not pocket are closer to the ennemies, so they will easily get attacked ;) )
If Danie ever wins one match against a pro, he will let him know and remember for years
I simply just love the way tati is talking ;DD
To echo what everyone else is saying - The new thumbnails are epic and i love the particular style of this video's thumbnail.
From now on viper you shall call these archers "longwobs". for the meme
For posterity, the thumbnail used to have a typo.
@@Jacks_Suffocating_Nihilism Thanks, I was wondering what happened. Wish I could have that on a t-shirt
Long Wobs, such as those present in early dubstep music?

I love that only Daniel and Tatoh talk.

4:18 "I can't find my second stone"... If you were against Lyx or Embi you'd know they'd lamed it; now I have no explanation.

What is a pocket and flank?
Pockets are the players in the middle positions (Viper and Daniel) and flanks are the players on the side positions (Tatoh and Nicov).

Hey Viper. Spirit of the Law and T90 say I should get Wheelbarrow around 30 pop yet you still didn't get it at 70 pop. You don't believe in Wheelbarrow?
SOTL recommends closer to 45-46. I go for it anywhere above 40 vils to make sure i don't forget it altogether.

What does pocket means?
Br?
The players between other players of their teams are called pockets and the players on the outside are called flanks
Leonardo Barilani the player/s between their allies - yellow and orange were both pockets and blue and red are ‘flanks’
When you are " pocket " it means that you are between your allies, not on the sides. To be one of the two players who is in the middle of your team (in this case Viper and Daniel). You can see that on the minimap.
