आदरणीय आनंद बक्षी साहब आपने हिन्दी फिल्मों में एक से बढकर एक इतने सारे गीत हमे दिए है और प्रत्येक गीत इतना सुंदर है कि इन सब में किसी एक गीत को अपना पसंदीदा गीत कहना मुश्किल ही नही नामुमकीन है। हर एक गीत नंबर वन है।

Anand Bakshi has been my all time favourite lyricist. From sixties to nineties, there are a large number of songs written by him which I love to hear because of their beautiful wordings. What he said about the relation between a lyricist and a music director is excellent. I totally agreed. Though he was not a professional singer, he was just a song writer, still I would like to say he could sing much better than any of today's popular singers. This interview was telecasted in the year 1983 and now I am also nearly forty years of age. The best thing of watching all interviews is that while watching them, we have to hear most of the beautiful Urdu words which are not in use today. Instead, those words can be heard only in the religious or Urdu based programmes, but not on a common platform. And it is also very strange that Anand Bakshi had said "Yaa Allaah" though he was a Hindu and not a Muslim.

This episode reminds me of my days in Bombay ( yes it was Bombay ) and watching Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. People remember Bakshi Saab from his popular songs from the 70’s. Over the last year working from home in New York City during the pandemic and finding the time to research on UA-cam I have heard beautiful songs from the 60’s written by him for films unheard of. Does anyone know “ Dhalti Jaye Raat “ from Razia Sultan -1960 was written by Bakshi Saab. I’m a big fan of his work with Pancham da , LP and Kalyanji Anandji…..but 2 lines from a song composed by S D Burman from Naya Zamana says all about him as a human being. “ Zindagi pe sabka ek sa haq hai, sab tasleem karenge……saari khushiyan saare dard barabar hum taqseem karenge “. That’s how people ought to be in this world. No one wrote about Kashmir better than Bakshi saab…” Kitni khubsoorat yeh tasveer hai “ from Bemisal. My personal favorite….” Dil insaan ka ek tarazu , jo insaaf ko tole “ from Charas in his own voice. People should go back and look at the songs written by him for Roshan saab and other composers from the 60’s including N Datta for Kaala Samundar “ Meri Tasveer Lekar kya karoge tum “…..an awesome qawalli.
