SO im have a problem where I animate a character and bring the render into after effects and I try to track the characters mouth so I can add new mouth animation in after effects...but for some reasons after effects have trouble tracking my animations...do you know of any way of importing like a motion track from cinema 4d like to ae...or any tricks
Nice tutorial, I'm kinda shocked there is an importer file since the support between c4d and ae is so extensive...is it possible to bring null data into c4d without having to render the png sequence at all? I have a baked null object that is really basic and it seems crazy to have a bunch of pngs rendering just to get that info....thanks!

You helped me a lot. I never saw the nulls in ae and put lights instead. But if you copy the position of the lights and paste them on your layers, weird shit is happening. Thanks a lot man!

Yes so when you need to make updates to the camera, nulls, lights etc.. you must export a new AEC file and reimport it to get the updates you made. I wish you could just have it auto update it's a feature I've requested before.
Now that the plugin is working, I created a qube with nulls on each side, in after effects i want a text layer to be parented to each nul as the qube spins 360 on the Y axis. when it spins though the text moves but overlaps the qube, it doesnt get covered as it spins to the back side. do i need an alpha channel or what am i missing, if you can make a quick tutorial that would be great
You'd have to have the text layer cut out by hand when its not supposed to be visible. Only way to have it act like it truely should is to just do the text in cinema
This is not working with a RS Camera and Target Tag on it. I have a Null object in my scene to control where the rs camera is pointing to and if i import the c4d in After Effects all the Nulls are facing in totally different directions. Any help for me? This is so frustrating.
@@JonathanWinbush Yesterday night I tried for two hours to get it working with a very simple scene, one camera with two position keyframes, a null object as the target for the camera and another null as reference in after effects. Everytime i used the target tag on the camera no matter if normal camera or rs camera the reference null in ae was displaced (faced wrong with weird rotation anomaly). This is reproducable very quick. Without target tag its fine. Target tag destroys it. You can try for yourself. There is no workaround but difficult baking with expresso, which is no choice for me. Cineware is buggy.

Weird. No AE exchange plug in fiie in my Maxon folder (on a pc too) and no exchange plugins folder which I have seen before. Maybe its a R22 issue? Or S22. They call it R22 in the folder. lol But wonder why I don't have it.
S22 is a bit weird but I'm seeing it in C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R22\Exchange Plugins\aftereffects maybe see if you have it there if you copy and paste in your file explore

I am running into an issue as well. When i select to import the .aec file after effects loads for half a sec and then nothing happens, no files get imported as if i didnt do anything, i am using cinema 4D r21 and after effects 2020

Yup so at 5:35 the scene there where it says Save Project File you can click that to export just an aec no rendering needed

When you open a new project check to make sure you don't have an solid in your scene
