驚異！トラジャ族の大葬儀２ Great funeral of Puang Sa'pang 2 大波乱の予感編

驚異！インドネシアのスラウェシ島で暮らすトラジャ族(TORAJA)。ここで有名なのは、コーヒーとダンス、歌と、葬儀だ。この地には、独自に伝わる宗教"Aluktodolo"がある。彼らの祖先は、上界から創造神プアン・マトゥア（Puang Matua）の神託を受ける階段を下って大地に現れたとされる。1997年、その子孫である大王 プアンサーパン（Puang Sa'pang）が、崩御した。現在、多くがキリスト教に改宗した中で、プアンサーパンは、アルクトドロ教を信じる最後の王である。そのため、葬儀も盛大なものになった。トラジャ族の社会では、葬儀は労力面も費用面からも最も贅を尽くした行事である。歌やダンス、財力や権力を持つ者ほど、葬儀もまた盛大なものになる。トラジャにおいて、このような大規模な葬儀を行なえるのは貴族だけに限られている。
Amazing! The Toraja people live in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Famous for coffee, dancing, singing and funerals. This place has its own religion, "Aluktodolo". It is said that their ancestors descended from the upper world to the earth after receiving an oracle from Puang Matua, the creator god. In 1997, his descendant, King Puang Sa'pang, passed away. Phuang Sapang is the last king to believe in Alkutodoro, among many who have now converted to Christianity. As a result, the funeral was a grand affair. In Toraja society, funerals are the most extravagant event in terms of labor and expense. Songs and dances, and the more wealth and power a person has, the more grand the funeral will be.
