It would have been better if you used a sealed ball bearing on both side, this will prevent water to penetrate to the rolling metal balls in case the mechanical seal damaged.... Omar/Jordan

Good job. Here in the U.S.A. it's easier to just buy another pump on EBay for $30.59 US dollars w/free shipping when you factor in the amount of labor time it takes to repair it & repair parts cost. I realize things are usually more expensive in countries other than the U.S.A. & repair parts though. When your back is all messed up like mine it's not worth the PITA to fix it IMHO when I could just buy another new pump for $30.59.
Do you then what happens to old stuff? It pollutes the environment. There is a documentary on this. This is why US is number 1 in electronic waste. Repair saves our environment.
Wrong method you left the base stone seal now upper stone seal will damage the casing.
