Forget the trolls my friend. They are such an insignificant minority. Controversy is great for innovation, and the large majority of us are hardcore fans man. Don’t ever change, Randy!

Hey Randy, what are your thoughts on copper blades? I was taught back in the 80's to use big copper colored Colorado blades in dirty/ muddy water.

Randy keep pumping out these videos because I learn so much from these videos it's ridiculous... I almost feel like I'm that guy sitting behind this smartest person in class cheating peaking at their paper while taking a test..!!🤣🤣🤣 I know it's not easy to make a video, edit and put it out but I kind of like how your format is.. you just record and put out what you record. there's not all this fancy music playing, all these crazy shots with the camera, just you talking and knowledge coming out of your brain to us for free.. just wanted to say thanks if nobody ever tells you that, I appreciate you! stay safe and tight lines always!!

I appreciate your advice about blades. Looks like I may be using blades that are a bit too small.

I don’t know if you comment on old videos but do you use the #8 or #7 willow leaf blades as a single or do you put another blade in front of them? If so what type/size of blade? Thanks

I doubt this will apply to many of this channel's viewers, but I have found that spinnerbaits are quite effective for flounder.

Jeez, I would never think to try a huge willow like a #8 but then again I’ve always associated willows with burning a spinner bait or rolling it along bottom in deep water.

You know why they call it a Colorado blade??? Because Colorado doesn't have shad. Only panfish.

Spinnerbait has lost a lot of favor to chatterbait
Is this because our lakes are aging
    No visible wood structure??

I do not know what an Indiana blade is you have until the end of the video to show me what you're talking about and if you don't then I will never bother you again. Because I have a problem with liars and people who throw shade.

Sad thing about spinnerbaits to me is on public waters, not always, but fish have become more skiddish of spinnerbaits. It's my favorite bait to throw and I had to change tactics and go to more soft plastics to get bit more. It's not that way on every lake for sure but spinnerbaits get thrown around the shoreline so much fish have become wise on some lakes.

Randy I have a question about spinner baits. Do you fish them in the summer time when water temperatures in the mid 80’s?

  • @aaronh4431

People I fish with thought it was weird I assembled spinner baits on the water . I keep a small zippered pouch with all the stuff in it . I might still be weird but at least I’m not alone . Thanks bro

Do the various blades have an effect on how the bait travels in the water? For example, does one style provide more lift than another style? Or, does one style make it easier to keep a bait "on plane" better than another?

Great explanation on the thought process of blade selection. Hiro Naito says that the best way to learn how to keep a spinnerbait in the desired strike zone is by using a single hard thumping Colorado blade. What is the pros philosophy about keeping a consistent strike zone throughout the retrieve? I know as a rank amateur that if I don't stay disciplined and keep a consistent strike zone, speed, and action I can't figure out how to get bit during a day of fishing.
