Yah you can already get them on sale for $400-$450. A year ago I never considered getting these, but I always wore headphones growing up until I got them stolen. I wore them religiously. Although I would still rather wear earbuds to and from class (I’m a college student) and to the gym, I would rather wear headphones in the comfort of my own home listening to music and just walking out and about. I tried these on one day at Best Buy and was super shocked how comfortable they are. Mr. Mobile, your videos are such a pleasure. I’ve been watching you for so many years that you’ve been a staple of my daily routine for as long as I can remember. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year. Thanks for the great content!
That comment about the XM4 at the end have me a warm smile. I picked up a set of them a couple weeks ago and I'm definitely impressed. If Sony wants to "compete" with the max, they only need to make the XM4 available in more premium materials and make the model name slightly catchier.
Awesome take on the APM! I agree the pricing is rough despite the performance and technology involved here. $400-$450 would have been right but here we are.
Not that I was shopping for these, I use Android, but El Jefe's review of the Soundcore Q30. Means I now own a set of noise cancelling headphones for $65! I am sure they are limited, but they sound great to me.
My AirPods Max are absolutely amazing. I don't experience any of the negative side effects (like pressurization when using ANC) that others do. I don't know if the fact that I've been using the ANC on my AirPods pro for over a year and a half has anything to do with that but it's a huge plus for me. I highly recommend the AirPods Max to anyone that's willing to spend the money on them! Yes they're expensive and they have some hardware limitations in the button and jack department but wow, if you want to listen to some high quality realistic sounding audio, these are the pinnacle of production consumer quality headphones. Overall, very well done, Apple. 🍎 🎧
On the same boat Michael. I purchased my wife some google pixel buds, but she opted to return them for the Apple Airpods because they were more comfortable and sounded better out of the box. I tried to explain that the pixel buds needed an update to fix the sound but it was just too cumbersome. Apple just does an excellent job at excelling at the basics.
They really did. The only problem is, as is with all Apple products, is their price. I love Apple products, but being honest, it always feels like they're priced slightly higher than they're actually worth.
Hi I love your reviews. But you didn’t even mention in the review one of the most important features of the new AirPod max which is the spatial audio. How did you like that?
Mr Mobile sounds so professional and polite that I even watched the whole ad sponsor which I usually skip on other channels. Very fun and ofcourse, quite informative!
@@The_Calm_Chaos They're not meant to. They're meant to last 3-5 years, and then you get a new model. That's the case with digital technology based headphones (as opposed to pure electronic headphones).
Dirty? Yes, they don't magically clean themselves. And if you hit them somewhere or sit on them or whatever they also dent, news at 11. They also don't come with a free pony. It's like people can't handle the real world anymore... My estimated timespan of "3 to 5 years" was for how long such a device will be relevant and desirable as technology before a couple of later iterations make it more appealing to buy a new model. For digital tech that depends on things like battery technology, bluetooth connectivity, NC, VR, virtual assistant integration, and other added features, "time the tech is relevant" is not very long, compared to a simple electronic headphone pair which is evergreen (but doesn't do much else besides music).
9:45 that is exactly what I thought when I saw the release of these cans And you're the only one (at least from what I see) who brought it up... Great review as always
Duh, what else did you expect, their products are created to work together! Apple products are primarily made for Apple users, not for Android/PC users!
Great review although I just ordered the Sony XM4. I cannot for the life of me justify the amount Apple is asking, not to mention without a damn proper case!
@@DoctorAtomTNT I can’t speak for the quality of the XM4s but I have a pair of H.Ear On 3s,their slightly down-range sibling. I'm blown away by them, especially when compared with a pair of Skull Candy headphones I got for my dad. I understand that the XM4s are just a tad nicer, so I think you'll be making a great choice there. I've had Bose in the past, and my Sonys surpass my pbose in several ways, as my Bose are quite a bit older. Anyway, I'd invest in just about anything before these Air Pods Max. I don't care how great the are, I could never justify such a high price. My Bose were a few hundred cheaper, I think, and my Sonys I got $70 off for over $400 cheaper than the Max. That's a price I can justify!
Absolutely honest and perfect review in all sense. They made a product which obviously has quality in it and you give thumbs up for it but you also made a point where apple is just being apple (stubborn) and pathetic in its horrible way of dealing in Tech world! Superb review
They are so shameless that they made such overpriced product and this will make other manufacturer to think in same way so eventually the price will go higher and higher from Sony and others ..
It’s nice to see a content “creator” actually be creative with their videos, editing and most of all dialogue. It’s like poetry listening MrMobile. Had to subscribe!
10:16 is when he said that at the end of the day, it is still Sony WH-1000xm4 that is more practical and logical to buy. Imagine it has almost at par with performance, 30hours of battery, LDAC, Free 3.5mm cord, hard case, lighter, and a 270usd asking price. Definitely busy the Sony one!
Finally, a sound minded review of this product! I'm sure they are great but seeing tech reviews saying that they are worth the asking price without batting an eye has been kind of weird.
They're amazing headphones. Why are you waiting for someone to bat an eye? Are you one of those who just has to find something bad or negative about something?
The price is totally justifiable. I don’t know why mr mobile doesn’t agree. When he compared them to equally nice B&O that are 500 bucks. At that point 50 extra bucks is nothing. I don’t get how everyone says they are over priced but the B&O and master and dynamics both at 500 bucks aren’t. When the APM has better ANC then both and call and transparency mode.
@@DavidKen878 To answer your question, no I am not someone who just hates everything. If they where differently priced and I was using an iPhone as my main device I might have bought them. All I was saying is just that many reviewers just glossed over the fact that they are really expensive by just dismissing it and saying that it was a luxury product. I have no issue with the fact that people seem to enjoy them.😃
I'm wearing headphones to listen to this video, and at 6:11 when he says "it's better over the Max than the iPhone?" I legit was scared. It felt like someone was talking behind me, like if the sound came from outside the earphone.
Most thorough review of these I've seen. Please give us a long term update. I'm curious how the mesh headband is going to hold up. Especially on the white ones.
@@oliverk3913 Haha yeah think it’s 599€ here (do mind our prices are always including taxes). Well for one the audio quality. It’s very good but not THAT good like many US reviewers make it seem to be, like the last 10% in the bottom and up range are just missing. And I immediately believe that comparing them to Beyerdynamic Tesla headphones (which cost 400€) I mean the whole wireless part is a bit sabotaged by the fact, that there is no headphone jack (plane entertainment system?) and that they are very heavy. Not to mention you can’t listen while charging and no USB-C too? The sole missing of a headphone jack and the stupid adapter combination you need to get them working, the case which is just totally awful and which you are forced to use to completely switch the headphones off immediately.. Watch iknowreview with subtitles for example, he has pretty solid reviews. And he clearly said those headphones are not worth their money. Really you get a feeling it’s a product from a US company so it’s overly praised..
@@Mutio86 well, mr mobile also clearly said they were not worth the money. He said he liked them. He praised the good points, and gave his honest opinion, but was very clear on the negatives. I prefer that over a review that is overly negative as that doesn’t sound like a fair review. Snazzy is also a good reviewer and he is an audiophile. He also said they were not worth the money but gave credit to the points these headphones excel in.
But at that price i except more. at least 3.5mm jack. Or Ldac support. But nope, I think they are asking way to much for what we get. I'm sticking with my sony xm3
Thanks much bro. I could not resist my self to buy the pair of APM eventually this week. I admit although I feel quite guilty for doing so( as an overspending on something not really necessary) now I am really satisfying with my decision due to the positive points of this pair as following: 1. Design: so avantgarde, sleek and unique. You would wear a hundreds pair of other brands, including the "hi-end" like B&O, Senheiser, Bose...etc but none of them got an eye catching like APM. Its not only makes the owner to love to wear but also proud to own them. 2. Comfort: - The minus point people and you have mentioned in the clips about battery, actually is a plus point for me cause I like the thing that I don't need to worry about shutting on or off the headsets, and it connects with device right away whenever I wear it.- The canopy was a bit tight and still put a little press on my skull top but very cool (in looking and feeling) in particularly for me. - As first, I am quite doubtful with the Digital Crown as I love the touch pad on ear cup of my XM4 and thinking that none could be more comfort than that. However, I have to say that I am wrong cause of how convenient, quickly response and logical control that it could provide to me. - The easy replaceable ear cup is brilliant idea that not only provide the good solution for customize your ear cup(even it could bring more and more money for a mighty and greed Apple Inc) but also very efficient for me to clean them as I wish. 3. The condensation: I live in Ho Chi Minh city with the typical tropical weather and the humidity scale always above 80% with lots of raining this season, however I have never seen it happened to my APM even I wear it for consecutively 3-4 hours per time and 2 times/day in average. 4. The sound quality: OMG, this is very crucial points for a pair of headphone. Again, I am very hesitated to buy this cause previously, my everyday XM4 is already superb and Sony is Master in this product category vs Apple. And finally, I have been non-stop using the Airpods Max instead of XM4 since I bought it 3 days ago, with out any hesitation. 😃. They are more crystal, shavvy and luxurious sound then XM4 remarkably. 👏. You have to experience this, speacially with Spatial Audio in music and OMG! in Movies (of the qualified app like Netflix, HBO Max or Disney...) It is absolutely amazing and leverage your enjoyable into the much, much better level. Firstly, I am a bit disappointed that I only entertain it via Ipad and iPhone, not in my large and clear LG 4k monitor with Macmini but I found the solution to it, that I connect my Ipad with LG monitor by HDMI, and I could be able to enjoy the best sound of the best resolution movies at once. 5. The Battery and Case: clearly no any excuse for the stupid case, and Apple, please stop doing so as you should have respect to consumers, right?? I dumped it right after open the box and no use it at all. However, as the newest hardware version for it: 3E756, I found the drain of the battery in rest (hanging and not in using) drain just about 1-2% overnight. I have been using it for 2 days (from the first charge: 100%), each day about 6-7 hours until now and it is having 33% at the moment. I also find that it would go to sleep mode autonmatically in around 3 mins after stop using it. 6. The negative: yep, the case is the biggest point. The weight is clearly heavy and it has got made me feel sore in my neck after using it but not really serious. Need to use it more and I think my neck would get used to it, after so familiar with the light weight of XM4. 🤓 In conclusion: you should buy it if you are already in Apple Eco System, and as like many other Apple product, you might be hesitated firstly but would be truly satisfied after all. Apple might not the first to make this type of product, but they would make the best among all. I hate to say many compliment to the creed one but what have to say is still need to say, right! Peace! ✌️
Have had my AirPods Max for a week, and loving the simplicity of the two controls, the comfort, and premium feel compared to my previous Bose QuietComforts.
Unfortunately sound quality can't be compared to Hifiman nor to Grado headphones. I tried them really underwhelming. As for noise cancelling headphones I prefer the design of the Bose 700 in white.
You made a great point the pricing on these will drive Sony and Bose to rise up their prices next year the same way the iPhone did and made several companies sell $1000 phones after just one year
I hope Sony and Bose won't. It's a trap. Look how high Apple's revenue for cheap iPhones now. For sure, once other manufacturers increases their prices, Apple will release the "SE" version of these.
I enjoyed watching the video, but even after viewing it, there are far too many cons for me to ever consider buying a pair, especially given the competition. The only thing that concerns me is your point about Apple's pricing driving up the cost of headphones in general. I too can see that happening as it has with the smartphone market, another reason I find Apple such an irritating company
@@parshakamarsh and very comfortable after many hours of use. I can even move around with them. The heavier Max will probably fall off or move around too much during my activities

To anyone thinking about purchasing these, I personally made it a goal to save up for these I have to say they’re 100% worth it. Don’t let the haters sway ur opinion. Yes the case isn’t optimal but it’s made out of leather and suede and smells like a new car so if I’m traveling with them it’s simple, just don’t throw them around and treat them like a $550 pair of headphones and wrap them in a sweatshirt of something if they’re going in a bag, def not a deal breaker at all. As for the power button, I thought I’d hate it not being there but lemme say this, I left them without the case on overnight and they only lost 3% battery so ya I don’t see the necessity with the amount of battery they have. Absolutely worth the price even though admittedly it’s very hard to swallow. Trust me, save up for em.
I was just visiting your channel half an hour ago to check if there's any new video but sadly no and after some time this popped up. Another great review.
The man with the golden voice. Thanks for an awesome review. The cons on the cans are pretty much deal brakers for me however, Hello Fresh looks like a win.
As many positive points you made for the apple headphones i still think sonys xm3 or 4 are better while sounding better, cheaper and more comfortable because they don't use metal, and for real audiophiles to not give you a 3.5mm port option is just stupid. You could get the sonys and still have mony left to get some really good audiophile headphones that look and sound better if you don't believe me search for headphones conpanies like blon, sivga, meze, audeze and many others i can't remember at the moment so guys avoid this abomination and call me old-fashioned all you want but these headphones are just a noise cancelling looker headphones nothing more!
About the Lightning stuff... I carry three cables with me on trips. USB-C, Lightning, and the Apple Watch puck. One wall adapter: my MacBook Pro’s 96W USB-C brick. With that I can charge my iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook Pro, AirPods Pro, and even my Nintendo Switch. Everything I have uses USB-C apart from a few miscellaneous accessories (Bluetooth speakers, mostly) that still use micro-USB... and my iPhone and AirPods. Personally, I am beyond fed up with Lightning - I love that there’s nothing sticking out in the middle of the plug on the device like USB-C has, but it’s so inconvenient when everything else uses USB-C. I understand why Apple is likely keeping Lightning around (MFi and the switch to MagSafe on a portless iPhone, the likelihood of which was a serious factor in my decision to get a iPhone 12 Pro Max this year so I don’t end up with a portless one next year) but it is so anti-consumer and flies in the face of their whole “works like magic” philosophy. I’ve used MagSafe twice since I got my iPhone, and it came on launch day. In the years prior, I can count the times I charged wirelessly with a very small number (a few dozen) What I want is one cable to charge everything, and we’re SO CLOSE to that - I know my Watch needs its charging puck, but everything else should use USB-C. Aside from focus distance issues on my iPhone’s wide camera (macro on the 12 Pro Max is definitely more difficult to pull off, albeit not impossible) that Lightning port is my biggest complaint this year. I’m not surprised the AirPods Max have Lightning, but it’s yet another annoying thing to charge. Apple... your long-time users are starting to get upset about this, and you’re still not invulnerable.
Have a pair coming to me next week! The most I've ever spent on headphones was around $100...never tried noise canceling headphones before. I never in a million years thought I'd pay anything over $200 for headphones. But the $500 I just dropped today?? I've become obsessed with Apple over the past year. First with an iPhone SE, then with a M1 Macbook Pro, and recently an Apple Watch Series 6...and I'm in freaking love! I've been consistently impressed with every single one of these products every single day. I feel profoundly lucky to be able to own such high end tech and everyday I feel like a kid again! I can't get enough Apple in my life! lol... $500? For a pair of headphones? Get the heck out of here! There's no way! Are you crazy?! Only...I kinda need them! No scratch that...I don't just 'kinda'...I ABSOLUTELY need them! Can't wait to get my Space Gray AirPod Max in the mail next week! I love being so fully immersed in Apple's Ecosystem!
Ugh ... I hate to say I wouldn't be surprised. Don't get me wrong, I love Apple, and my 2nd gen Air Pods, but the thing they do with their prices ... really? If I want a solid pair of over-ear headphones, I'll just hop on over to Costco and see what deals they have going, which is how I got my new Sony H.Ear on 3s. They have better battery life, are comfortable, sound great, and I got them on sale for over $400 cheaper than the Air Pods Max. I mean, I know headphones are an investment, they're supposed to last a long time, like my two pairs of Bose which both just now wore out the padding, but that's a pretty big investment. Also, I'm afraid people are going to get as wasteful with headphones as with phones if Apple and others keep releasing newer, shinier models every year or two.
@@MagicalAuroraDream 3.5mm headphones and other analog types sure, but not kinds with built in non removable batteries and tech that can be outdated in a few years.

Well done Micheal and have a wonderful Christmas season celebration be safe.
Those super weird design choices like having no power button and case that doesn't really protect the earphone, are making it rather difficult for me to buy it.
when other UA-cam say good thing about apple, I always get a fake vibe that they don't want to piss off apple. but when you do it, it gives genuine vibe
So I ordered the AirPods Max and the famous Sony’s AND the Bose 700s. First I cant believe people actually like the Sony’s, they sound like artificial computer noise to me. The Sony 700s are so light and sound great but a little lacking on bass. I wanted so much to hate the apples but.... wtf? They are amazing. Sound is amazing and anc is game changing (and spatial audio is black magic for your ears, next level listening) Yes, better than the Bose and while I immediately sent back the Sony’s, I kept the Bose for it’s comfort and the apple for its sound. The one gripe though is that the earcups feel so rough, like denim sandpaper! I’m hoping third parties release softer earcups. Good job on the review!
I use the AirPods pro and noticed the muting effect as well when I wear them at work and a forklife is backing up, but what makes it annoying is the fact that only 1 "bud" does the muting. Seeing as how those were my first experience with the ACN, I can also attest to the initial experience you mentioned with the disorientation. When they arrived I put them in and went outside as a semi was backing up a few door over and I was blown away by the fact that I could hear....NOTHING! If the ANC is that good on the AirPod pros, I can only imagine what its like on these!
I love these with the new spacial sound on some albums on Apple Music. The cord without a plug was annoying and I had to use my iPhone charger. That is my only complaint. These headphones are heavy and large but they are extremely comfortable to use for several hours at a time.
If there's something that I appreciate about a reviewer talking about headphones, it's the live and simultaneous test that is done to them, so we can appreciate how good their sound reproduction is. There's an Austrian youtuber named Oluv Gadget and he's a real expert in testing headphones, in fact the last video I watch of him was these Apple headphones against an Anker Life Q30, and he makes everyone who watch his videos of this type, we can appreciate the sound reproduced in each of them. Not only does he talk and talk throughout the video, he also teaches us what the sound is like in each headphone. I just saying! 🤷🏻♂️📱🎧🎵🎶🎵👂🏻

I think that Apple really made some amazing product this year, considering to switch
They really did. The only problem is, as is with all Apple products, is their price. I love Apple products, but being honest, it always feels like they're priced slightly higher than they're actually worth.
I love that your videos are edited in the style and mood of a 7th grade science video made in the 90s. It’s great.
That thumbnail face you made was so perfect for the title. It just screams "Damn...I like it."
Your sponsor section was SO. WELL. DONE. Nice work, Michael! Proud to be a subscriber and fan.
Lighting port, lack of foldable, and price are the deal-breakers.
And the FUCKING CASE
And I don't think they're going to be as durable in the long term as much as other cans are. They'll get dirty, torn, scratched and dinted in no time.
@@The_Calm_Chaos They're not meant to. They're meant to last 3-5 years, and then you get a new model. That's the case with digital technology based headphones (as opposed to pure electronic headphones).
@@foljs5858 3 to 5 years? lol I've already seen shots of dirty and dinged AP Max's, and they're only a few weeks old at most.
9:45 that is exactly what I thought when I saw the release of these cans
And you're the only one (at least from what I see) who brought it up...
Great review as always
Apple's getting really good at this whole "make things great but gimp them on everything other than Apple hardware" thing.
Duh, what else did you expect, their products are created to work together! Apple products are primarily made for Apple users, not for Android/PC users!
@@640A late but why can't they work? We are still potential customers, so why can't we have all the features too?
9:45 I'm glad you addressed this since no one else really has.
Great review although I just ordered the Sony XM4. I cannot for the life of me justify the amount Apple is asking, not to mention without a damn proper case!
I have the XM3s and I ordered a pair of these Max’s to try out. I’m thinking I’ll most likely return it , but out of curiosity going to try them.
Very good choice, I'm considering the xm4 myself.
Just got my pair last week. You can't go wrong with top ANC for half the cost of the Airpods Max.
Got a XM4
That was a great point about it potentially driving up other pairs of headphones

Audiophiles "wow what a bargain"
@@molarrr they're overpriced
@@enigmamyth how? Every single other high end headphone is right next or even higher in price. And the AirPods out perform some of those.
I have no issue with the fact that people seem to enjoy them.😃
Lots of respect for supporting other channels, particularly on a video about an Apple product, which you know will be popular. Love that.
Samsung is probably working on Galaxy MaxPods priced at 599.

Most thorough review of these I've seen. Please give us a long term update. I'm curious how the mesh headband is going to hold up. Especially on the white ones.
3 minutes in and you’re about to make me spend $550 on some damn headphones. Not cool Michael, not cool.
Micheal you always make such high quality vids. Jeez been watching you for almost a decade now. Keep it up~!
Interesting to see here in Germany reviewers are definitely more negative about these headphones than you US guys, just saying..
what are the negatives? Besides the price of course.
@@oliverk3913 Haha yeah think it’s 599€ here (do mind our prices are always including taxes).
Well for one the audio quality. It’s very good but not THAT good like many US reviewers make it seem to be, like the last 10% in the bottom and up range are just missing. And I immediately believe that comparing them to Beyerdynamic Tesla headphones (which cost 400€)
I mean the whole wireless part is a bit sabotaged by the fact, that there is no headphone jack (plane entertainment system?) and that they are very heavy.
Oh, that subtle THX noise in the edit.
That kind of touch is what pushes Mr Mo above the rest.

Thanks much bro. I could not resist my self to buy the pair of APM eventually this week. I admit although I feel quite guilty for doing so( as an overspending on something not really necessary) now I am really satisfying with my decision due to the positive points of this pair as following:
1. Design: so avantgarde, sleek and unique. You would wear a hundreds pair of other brands, including the "hi-end" like B&O, Senheiser, Bose...etc but none of them got an eye catching like APM. Its not only makes the owner to love to wear but also proud to own them.
2. Comfort:
- The minus point people and you have mentioned in the clips about battery, actually is a plus point for me cause I like the thing that I don't need to worry about shutting on or off the headsets, and it connects with device right away whenever I wear it.- The canopy was a bit tight and still put a little press on my skull top but very cool (in looking and feeling) in particularly for me.
In conclusion: you should buy it if you are already in Apple Eco System, and as like many other Apple product, you might be hesitated firstly but would be truly satisfied after all. Apple might not the first to make this type of product, but they would make the best among all. I hate to say many compliment to the creed one but what have to say is still need to say, right! Peace! ✌️

Try foam padding on the wall / under shelf for the washer to reduce the sound. Basically right now it’s in perfect “megaphone” location.

Apple was smart to release these in the winter...wait till summer, y’all gon be sweating with these like crazy
Yeah, it's not just sweat, it's the smell after that, fabric earcup is better than leather in the way it handle sweat, by absorbing them.

Can't wait to get my Space Gray AirPod Max in the mail next week! I love being so fully immersed in Apple's Ecosystem!
People are gonna love these because it’s apple. Soon there will be a $999 AirPods max Pro and people will buy those out too. Guaranteed

I Love How Much I Hate Apple's Smart Bra
Are we really not going to talk about that poor excuse for a case?? 😂
Michael, I would really appreciate knowing which Model washer dryer you have? How does it work?
If there's something that I appreciate about a reviewer talking about headphones, it's the live and simultaneous test that is done to them, so we can appreciate how good their sound reproduction is. There's an Austrian youtuber named Oluv Gadget and he's a real expert in testing headphones, in fact the last video I watch of him was these Apple headphones against an Anker Life Q30, and he makes everyone who watch his videos of this type, we can appreciate the sound reproduced in each of them. Not only does he talk and talk throughout the video, he also teaches us what the sound is like in each headphone. I just saying! 🤷🏻♂️📱🎧🎵🎶🎵👂🏻
