Well Lapras only battled once in the orange pokemon league while battling some guy's Gengar,plus it only knew 2 moves : Ice beam,and Water gun, so technically it wasn't ash's strongest water type pokemon,also i think Totodile should be in 5th because even though he was small he still was strong,and worth fighting for,no seriously Ash and Misty literally battled for him,misty used Poliwhirl,staryu and togepi,that little redhead cheater,and Ash used Pikachu ,Chikorita and Bulbasaur,after the battle was declared over ash got to keep Totodile as his new water type pokemon of johto.

Oshawott deserves to be much higher than #8. He was one of ash’s most memorable Pokémon from the black and white saga . He is full of personality and many memorable moments. Especially when they had melloetta.

Actually Ash water types didn't evolved even in their Second evolve forms except froggie. Ash should have evolved Totodile into Finalegator, that's Pokemon is super awesome in my opinion
