#2 thank you so much Jenny! This popped up in perfect timing! I got into an argument this evening with a friend of a few years who has become close (not in a romantic sense) and it made me realise that I don't feel like he respects me as a person - but maybe more so that our friendship had made me disrespect myself and my own value and talents! Not in an obvious way, more insidious, like I was subtly putting him on a pedestal and invalidating my own feelings and opinions! I decided to draw some firmer boundaries and just sit with these revelations, but was wondering if I should step away from the friendship! So this helped give me some more insight into what's going on under the surface! You definitely picked up on those questioning energies that I've been feeling!! Thanks as always!
Pile 3: this man was obsessed and all over me. We worked together and he got defensive because I’m better at his job than I am. I never really cared about who was better than who but he took it to heart entirely. He started to talk trash about me behind my back at work to tarnish my reputation. He made work impossible for me in the first job I actually cared about. He was a coward and made his fear make the decisions for him. We worked in addiction treatment and I saw him making fun of clients for relapsing. As he’s using coke, smoking and drinking all day everyday. He nearly let a patient die of an overdose and just laughed about it. He was so hypocritical and judgmental and small. I broke up with him and he went on a rampage around town to make me look bad so no one would believe me if I ever said anything about what he did and what I found out. There is 100% legal repercussions that could come. But I know he loved me, in whatever way that meant for him. He was obsessed and thought I was the most intense and special connection he’s had. And it definitely was. Now he feels bad about everything he’s done to me because I never deserved any of it. I’ve only been dedicated to loving him and every client we worked with. I held him to a higher standard than anyone’s ever held him to and he resented me for it. I will never back down from what I deserve or any of those clients deserve. He does not deserve to come back. He fucked up to the millionth degree. But he’s very skilled and manipulative, so I’m sure he’s working a way in his mind to see how he can unscramble his way out and make me like him again. Will never believe it.
