"Do you STILL give away half of your money?"
    "Going up every year."
Celebrities can give to charity once or twice. But, to give half of your income every year consistently, that is true charity. Most underrated comment.

What I respect about Pat is that he is honest about how far behind Intel is and how his plan is a long term plan (~5 years) to "catch up". It takes a lot for someone in his position to admit their company is behind - and as far behind as it is. I think they will be able to pull it off as long as someone this honest remains at the helm.

I invest in Intel because I believe in the continuing, and growing geostrategic importance of its products.
I don't buy for the stock price, but for its business-potential and cashflows.

Pat Gelsinger is exactly what Intel needed in a CEO. He's an engineer that wants to push the company forward and not rest on their laurels. In his first year he's delivered CPU's that beat AMD and Apple, he's gotten their foundries back on track and has a clear roadmap to surpass TSMC, he's gotten major players like Qualcomm and Amazon to prepay for Intel's new foundry services, he's moving the company into new very high revenue products- GPU's, Autonomous vehicles, foundry services. I am not an Intel investor, but as someone deep into this field, this clearly the start of Intel going back to greatness, greater than it ever was. I wouldnt be surprised if in 3 years their market cap doubles based on their already solid financials, being undervalued and new revenue streams.

Aside from healthy cashflows, Intel is my first big investment as a starting investor. This is, because I believe the geostrategic importance of chips will make governments pay into new advanced factories in both the US (Ohio, Arizona) and Europe (Italy, France, Germany)

I think it’s an excellent pick for the long term and it is not my first pick but I’m in intel about 10% and have been considering aggressively bringing that even higher. I believe that in 10 year Intel will be a far larger company paying a far larger dividend.

I didn't realize Intel was that much behind. However, in the end of the 90s, it happened once. And Intel leveraged its tremendous market power and deep pocket that turned the things around in about 3-5 yrs. Maybe this will become a great comeback story :)

I used to have a much more positive assessment of Gelsinger in the old days at Intel. Now he sounds just like a used car salesman--a pity. Note that he keeps talking about five years of service on numerous occasions. This is because Intel executives have been forced to retire at age 65, by company rules. From that perspective, Gelsinger is playing a very safe game for himself, since any results into the future will fall under another person's responsibility.

He thinks Nvidia, Apple, AMD going to pause so Intel can lap them. At the pace those 3 are innovating, good luck Intel. Intel come out with something new every 6-10 years that is more than 5% faster. They do it every year.

@@cnhtol1586 fanboy? I am a fan of making money. A fanboy is someone who keeps cheerleading for a company that doesn't go anywhere for 10 years. I work in the industry (and not for competitor) so I know why Intel has the largest marketshare. You have no clue why. You also have no clue why the stock isn't going up. I do. That is why I enjoy having bought AMD, Apple, and Nvidia in single digits. Enjoy your stagnant portfolio while cheerleading Intel. If you're not a fanboy, then you may just be clueless instead.

Pat wants to talk his way out of a tight spot, that won't work. you either have the stuff or you don't, Intel no longer has. They have been for ever late and delayed, Sapphire Rapids been delayed over and over, had to pay a fine to US government for it, their discrete graphic was supposed to be released this February, nothing yet, 7 nano meter was supposed to come out last year, not clear when it will be ready. He just keeps postponing everything into the far future and paints a super bright picture; gives himself an A minus! Instead of promising great things 5 years out why not just concentrate on fixing your manufacturing and staying within scheduled. The 'market' has no confidence in him, because he is not delivering, he is just BSing. Notice every time he talks the stock goes down. This super confident happy act does not produce chips, it only diminishes his credibility.
