As a pure blood Canadian, I can say with some authority that your use of "eh" was spot on-(I am not British but have British roots). You used it as it was meant to be used. It was clean and heart-felt. You would do well across the pond. As a Canadian, you would fit. Cheers brother.
One of the simplest, thorough, and most agreeable tutorials on FL Studio - I feel relieved to have stumbled across this. Im certain I just saved 6 months of fumbling around learning the hard way. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
This is easily the BEST tutorial for people new to FL Studio. You clearly explain every aspect of what you were doing, and it was extremely helpful. Thanks!
Just build your song normally, but in one run (without closing the interface) and then play it and record the output with an external app (like Audacity).
I think you might be getting confused between "enunciation" and "accent". Received Pronunciation is a nice concept, but it is far from being a rule. It is a nice idea, but, as Wikipedia says: "RP is sometimes known as the Queen's English, but recordings show that even Queen Elizabeth II has changed her pronunciation over the past 50 years, no longer using an [ɛ]-like vowel in words like land."
Im new to FL and using other videos for help wish i found this sooner but im glad to see i am making progress i remember when i wouldn't have understood a word of it .
Oh-ho, o-okay. I-I'm just going to watch again... and again... and again.... ...because I can't remember half of it already. Very nice tutorial, though.
actually this video is more useful when you have a little knowledge about the program and then watch it, rather than knowing nothing at all. Great job.
This is a great tutorial and I appreciate that you took the time to explain things at a good pace. I still find the program complicated though it's my first time even seeing it so.. I just hope I can really learn yo use this and alongside learn guitar. I *have* to learn or die trying!
I have played guitar for about 5 years now and just started learning this. I think I would rather go back and learn guitar all over again lol - seems a bit easier.
Fire Dolphin indeed, I've been focusing more on guitar atm because I have other things I gotta do too as well and require time away from the computer but as soon as I can I'm watching this until I learn it xD
Wow, that hour went by so smoothly. Thank you so much for this video it was brilliantly produced, really professional stuff. Thank you for your time and effort :)
holy fucking shit finally a tutorial produced by someone that can speak proper English. i never sub or like vids but you sir got both from me :P thanks
thank you for putting all this in one video. much easier than searching a dozen vids. very helpful. just made the switch from machine "DAW" to FL studio so I'm starting from scratch. you certainly shortened the learning curve
Which version of fl studio 12 are you using? Ex: producer edition, signature bundle? And is kontakt a seperate software or would it come with one of those versions?
Dave Zander You merely get less plugins. Some of them I find very useful, like Gross Beat (great for electronic music, adding chop and glitch style effects), Fruity video player (for scoring), and Harmless, which is a pretty good generator (Harmour is much better though). So the total price of those combined out-weighs getting them separately, which is why I got them. That being said, I mostly use external plugins for FL Studio, so my loyalty doesn't lie with Image-Line for anything but FL Studio really,
Thanks for the video! Came for the "mixing and mastering", and acquired information I couldn't find from others' videos. I've done some work about other parts of the basics, so this video is really useful and suitable for me as it doesn't spend too much time explaining stuff that can be easily found in other videos. Thank you !
Thanks for a million views! Sorry you can't get a 10% discount on FL Studio any more. Image-Line disabled the affiliate system (after 18 years) that was literally paying my rent, so if you'd like to throw me a tip for this video: paypal.me/NJDFisher (I use a business account to hide my address).
what would you recommend should I do. I want to become a EDM artist but I don't know where to begin. I thought maybe fl studio would be the first start. If you have any helpful hints that would be swell
As a beginner, this has so far been the only really helpful tutorial! Very well spoken, you explained everything, I can't wait to get cracking! Thank you!
Tobi Og What was the add about, I’m really curious mostly because 1: that’s quite the coincidence And 2: you’re not the only one who got that add, and no one else has commented on what the add was even about.
+beshjs As at least 24 people including the person above you might agree, it might be difficult for some people to understand me at points, for example non-native English learners usually learn to read and write it before they get used to the regional articulation of the language.
+beshjs I didn't remove your comment. Take a look at my comment section; I don't censor people that don't like my video or something I do. Only people I censor are people who advertise. No need to be so derogatory.
i had this problem, i realised it was because i'd placed the pattern down and was trying to double click it without having made a pattern in the channel rack (hats, snares, etc) beforehand.
I have the same problem rnn. I opened the default thing nd played some notes but when I put down the pattern there were no notes. I tried highlighting different sections in default but when i play that it won't stop. Like I highlight 1 note but it doesnt stop playing.
FKProds your video was incredibly detailed!! I'm just really new to everything so I'm still lost. thank you so much for the video I appreciate it and will keep trying to improve :)
Vitalize FLSTUDIO actually has a function in Piano Roll that will lay out any scale or chord on any note you click in Piano Roll. Meaning you could not know one bit of music theory, but still write an orchestra.
I remember this was the very first fl studio tutorial I watched which was about six months ago. I remember I didn't understand one single thing he was trying to explain. I'm here six months later and I now understand everything he showed in this video. Stay determined, beginers... stay determined... ^~^ #YouGottaWantIt
Fretti It takes time, just stay determined and watch as many videos as you can. It helps if you write down notes too. Eventually, you'll start to understand stuff. Good luck on your journey! ^~^
Easy for you because you know how to use it. But for a person who just started to use FL Studio 12 might be hard for him to click or know shts about it
It is not you bro; It is the guy on the video who is NOT teaching on how to use FL studio ... but just talking while doing his own shit... I hate that too wasting my time watching the video 5 facking times and hard to get what hi is doing.

Fantastic video. I will definitely be referring to it a lot. Question: What edition of FL Studio is being used in this video? Fruity, Producer, Signature, or FL Studio + All Plugins?
Signature bundle, with additional 3rd party plugins. I include these as I want to show a realistic producer's working environment, which would rarely be limited to the tools that come with a program - like sticking to the default image library of an image manipulation application.
FKProds Thanks! One more question: On the FL Studio website, when you compare the editions, what does "Audio Clips" mean, in comparison with Fruity and Producer? Fruity doesn't have them, but Producer does.
Audio Clips are pre-rendered sound files, like an MP3 or WAV file, instead of those being generated on-the-fly by the algorithms in the plugins. These can be useful for things like capturing more realistic acoustic performances or voice clips.
Thanks sir... Thanks for your wonderful tutorial... i used fl 3 one in my past... after years of gap you reminded me about fl... i feel good to see that their is not major changings in basic structure... i love this software...
Why is there crackling when I play your video and FL Studio window is open on the other side and I've just made changes to the FL ASIO setup? Also the underruns value keeps changing everytime I newly open FL STUDIO 12.P. S. Mine isn't a purchased version.
There has always been issues with illegitimate versions of FL... I do not endorse it in any way. As for the underruns, do what works for you! You probably have a slightly less powerful CPU than me so the default will be fine for you. I can cut a little more latency out as my CPU can keep up, but I was trying to explain that you want to keep it as low as possible without causing underruns. Hope that helps.
My dream computer: 20,00 node computer cluster (running on raspberry pi's. 20k of them.) processing power = 24k ghz Virtual memory = 10k terabytes Overall: Has nothing to do with music
I understand that this program has alot to offer, but damn it sucks that it's so expensive. As someone who is passionate about music i havent found any other good program out there besides this one, that is free anyway. I don't have anywhere near the amount of money it would cost to buy this. :/
Man,a big thanks to you for this cognitive video.I used to work in Studio One 3,but recently have started to exlore Fl studio and i find it more professional and convenient indeed. I have watched the intire video of yours and must say that u have done a great job on this as now i am easily using Fl studio enjoying myself! Thumbs up and subscribe.Nice!
I got a 3 minute ad that was telling me that looking up fl studio videos is a waste of time and every time he says “specific” he says “pacific”. Edit- he was also filming with an android front facing camer vertically.
There isn't something you can't do with this software. FL has the richest varieties of features, and I use only the trial by now. Think about what will it happens when you buy it.
Is it weird that in the description he has times of how long everything took to do? Is it weird how accurate it is? never seen that on a video before hahahaha
I like statistics. Honestly, I timed it because it was in one session, and I wanted to see the $/hour it came to with ad / affiliate revenue etc. I like investing my time in smart ways (spoiler: this was one of the smarter uses of my time).
I've seen hundreds of video tutorials; for Unreal Engine (blueprints, cascade, materials, etc), Cubase, Photoshop, Premiere and more. And this is one of the best videotutorial I've EVER watch. Seriously, it's a really great mix of knowledge, humor and comprehensive information (instead of being just a lecture, it feels like a conversation). Really sorry ImageLine pulled the affiliate system. Don't you make videos for sites like Udemy? I'd love to buy an entire course about FL Studio from you! In fact I'm surprised such a great tutorial like this is just free, not an easy task to edit a 1 hour tutorial. Anyway, I had to say it, THANK YOU, hope you're doing well with whatever project you're currently on!
This software definitely worth every cent and the real cost is even bigger. I use only the trial by now, but I definitely will buy the 900 euro proposal version.
Then you don't have the patience to put in the hundreds to thousands of hours required to get the experience necessary to make great music. Still, nothing stopping you messing about just for fun - that's how I learned as opposed to using tutorials.
The problem is just that I can't find my way around in FL studio. That's why I wanna watch this. But I was thinking about trying it out again later today.
great video i watched this as a normal person and after watching it im confident i can go back in the program and actually make something to get me somewhere
Thank you so much! I'm about to buy this software and wanted to be sure I had a system similar to yours. Always worrying about latency issues you know :-) be well and thank you again both for the reply and the tutorial! best-
Wanted to add...mine is an i7 quad core Intel @2.6GhZ, 125GB SSD and a 1TB HDD...16GB RAM. I'm planning on putting the software on the SSD and the VST instruments and saved files on the HDD. If you feel i should do it differently, would love toknow. best, RScott
Augs Zilla, there's a free version, and three purchasable versions. Just search up "FL Studio", then click the first website that comes up, and click "Download" The free version sucks, but it still works!
+Joseph Cool A surprising amount of people are decent enough to know about give and take. I know because I get plenty of commission from being an affiliate for FL. If someone cannot afford it, I can understand, but wilfully stealing without remorse is no joke.
+FKProds yeah I'm just like 14 and have no money to even pay a dollar for anything so I use the trial I can make sick beats but I can never save em 😥 but I guess I'll get it sometime later
Most amazing video and tutorial I have ever watched, it was organized well detailed and overall fairly easy to understand, I hope to see more of your content in the future, and Thank You!
Awesome tutorial, I recenlty (last week) bought FL12, and it came with a nice tutorial book. But after reading it I still didn't know how the automation worked, but now I do thanks to your tutorial :D Thanks alot!
I learned a lot from this video. Since I've spent many many hours making about a dozen of my own songs over the course of a couple years, I already had the basics down. But I learned tons about plugins, automation and mastering. Thanks!
Thank you so much. You have made my life much easier. I am opening a music software for the first time in my life and it looks so complicated but thanks to you it's more acceptable now. Thank you.
Thank you, I tried to ensure that but some people seem to think it is "unbearable". It is only a few but it's nice to see someone disagreeing with them. I would find it a bit strange for a music tutorial to be devoid of music :P
Really like this video. Would have been awesome to have this tutorial when i started out. This is one of the main videos i recommend people when they are starting out with FL.
I usually don't comment on any kinda such videos, but I think this ones's gonna help me a lot. So I just wanna thank u for uploading such stuff which helps the beginners like me out here struggling on how to add beats in our music. The content is pretty helpful, and I would like you to make a video on Editing on Vocals.
This was great even for advanced users. I learned a bunch of new shortcuts I had no idea existed. And some great new workarounds too. The video editing had some pretty great moments too. That extremely abrasive synth static, and the motorcycle passing. (At first I thought it was the tail end sound of a plugin you had activated).
I got an ad saying "you're wasting your time learning FL Studio online" LMFAOOO
Polyurethane Same bro I was dieing 😂
iHATEYOU I was like "Should I even watch this shit now?" 😂😂
Me too oh fuck thats creepy
I was mad interested til he said "49.99" then I was just like HEEEELLLLLLLL NAH
I got it too lmfao
Your tutorials are fantastic. Very straightforward and easy to understand. Your voice quality is excellent and enunciation is very good.
+Conor McGregor How did you know that?
interesting O(∩_∩)O~~
Agreed!!
haha
Chuck Anderson Agreed

Just spent almost 6 hours disecting this video and writing my own version of a users manual>!! thankzz
That's a great way to learn!
can you please share your manual with us if u wish to?
yes pleease
Lol I did the exact same thing. It's allways better to start writing your things down. so you don't have to look back this entire video.
Vince Phaneuf would you mind sharing your manual with me? I’d love to compare it to my notes, cheers.
This is easily the BEST tutorial for people new to FL Studio. You clearly explain every aspect of what you were doing, and it was extremely helpful. Thanks!
"Once you *purchase* FL Studio"
Haha, good one man! I didn't know this was a comedy tutorial
lmao
There is a unlimited free trial. You can't save projects, but there are ways of getting around that.
please teach us how :(
Just build your song normally, but in one run (without closing the interface) and then play it and record the output with an external app (like Audacity).
Dreadnought HOLY SHIET U SMART
Before the video starts: "Ok, 1 hour video. I hope the voice over isn't annoying. Please please please!!!"
Video starts: "Awww ye, success! :D"
He needs to work on the was he says "u" though. English is weird and "u" is most likely "a", not "uh".
I think you might be getting confused between "enunciation" and "accent". Received Pronunciation is a nice concept, but it is far from being a rule. boi i used to watch ur vids, one of my friends used to be in an smp witchu a few years back

Im new to FL and using other videos for help wish i found this sooner but im glad to see i am making progress i remember when i wouldn't have understood a word of it .
This video helped me about 3 years ago, and now I’m almost a pro, thanks bro
This is such an invaluable resource for beginners, thank you for creating this.
36:52 had me dyin! This was great though. I appreciate your work man! I can tell a lot went into the editing.
Cool channel bro! Subbed
lol why did he do that???
Oh-ho, o-okay.
I-I'm just going to watch again... and again... and again....
...because I can't remember half of it already. Very nice tutorial, though.
I'm gonna do the same 0_0
+Daoh lockZ im gonna try searching for "VERY" basic tutorial instead.
That how what you suppose to do thats how it work
+PlantIT thats how ya learn
you should practice the skills right after you learn them, trust me, it's gonna help.
Just a newbie to FL studio 12 here writing to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! Great guide :)
actually this video is more useful when you have a little knowledge about the program and then watch it, rather than knowing nothing at all. Great job.

Thank you so much for spending your time to make this for me and others who are clueless where to start.
Watched a 3 min ad so you can get that money. Thank you a lot man. You helped me a lot.
Great job! As a complete beginner into FL studio i found this tutorial VERY useful and i feel a lot more comfortable with my work in it. Thank you ^^
Wow, that hour went by so smoothly. Thank you so much for this video it was brilliantly produced, really professional stuff. Thank you for your time and effort :)
*Man, I have no words to thank you for the effort and time you've displayed to create this wonderful tutorial. Keep it up, sir!!*
*Man, I have no words to describe why you had to put this wonderful comment in bold. Please stop, sir!!*
@@billylardner coz look at the description box. This guy put so much effort in this. Details. Everything is in the details here.

True, the video is amazing and it’s great this content is on UA-cam. Bold comments just come across a bit arrogant, that’s all
@@billylardner *cry about it*
holy fucking shit finally a tutorial produced by someone that can speak proper English.
i never sub or like vids but you sir got both from me :P thanks
I'm honoured :)
it would be nice if you could answer my question.
The song makes this tutorial so epic...Feels like some sort of quest. The quest to mastering FLS!!!! *gets hyped*
thank you for putting all this in one video. much easier than searching a dozen vids. very helpful. just made the switch from machine "DAW" to FL studio so I'm starting from scratch. you certainly shortened the learning curve
Thanks for half a million views!
+FKProds very nice Video. it helped me a lot.
+FKProds thanks for unnecessary long ass intro!
Are you sure you're not Canadian?
Riyaan Bakhda How dare you even suggest that, eh? ;)
FKProds Just kidding!
Great tutorial!
Can you make one on how to set up a MIDI instrument l?
Like if you want to see an FL Studio 12 GIVEAWAY at 1000 video likes.
Which version of fl studio 12 are you using? Ex: producer edition, signature bundle?
And is kontakt a seperate software or would it come with one of those versions?
Kontakt is indeed separate, available from the Native Instruments website. I was using the Signature Bundle version of FL. Hope that helps :)
Yes! Thanks!
FKProds oh and 1 more question if thats ok, is there a big difference between said signature bundle and the producer edition for example?
Dave Zander You merely get less plugins. Some of them I find very useful, like Gross Beat (great for electronic music, adding chop and glitch style effects), Fruity video player (for scoring), and Harmless, which is a pretty good generator (Harmour is much better though). Overall: Has nothing to do with music
tales of autisme
Evan Dear just imagine how much Lesbian Porn we can store on that....hmm...quite a thing huh?
I understand that this program has alot to offer, but damn it sucks that it's so expensive. As someone who is passionate about music i havent found any other good program out there besides this one, that is free anyway. I don't have anywhere near the amount of money it would cost to buy this. :/
I got mine for free lol.. fl studio producer edition. Its awesome having a little brother who is computer smart haha.
how do you get it free ?
Timothy Oloyade dud just torrent it
The free version, while slightly limited, is still very good.
What..who..er..would do such a thing ;)
Man,a big thanks to you for this cognitive video.I used to work in Studio One 3,but recently have started to exlore Fl studio and i find it more professional and convenient indeed.
I have watched the intire video of yours and must say that u have done a great job on this as now i am easily using Fl studio enjoying myself!
Thumbs up and subscribe.Nice!
I'm a Rookie learning and I must say, I'm not even into this kind of music but the video was very useful. Thank you for sharing.
I got a 3 minute ad that was telling me that looking up fl studio videos is a waste of time and every time he says “specific” he says “pacific”. Edit- he was also filming with an android front facing camer vertically.
Can you record from a microphone instead of a midi device? for example a guitar?
Yes, you can, but you better have a good microphone and a good sound card.
is the apple microphone good? ahahahh jk xD
what are you talking about? apple mics are the best thats why every 14 year old with this software on soundcloud uses them to rap over their track
Or you could use an audio interface i'm pretty sure
I came here to learn more about mixing and mastering, and i got more than i bargained for. Great tutorial.
This software definitely worth every cent and the real cost is even bigger. I use only the trial by now, but I definitely will buy the 900 euro proposal version.
Mate is that FL 12 All Plugin Bundle ?
+AeroModss Just the Signature Bundle :) Got Harmor now too though.
FKProds Mate I've got Signature too but you got soo many more plugins :D
Maybe I just wasn't looking at the right place ;)
AeroModss I have a lot of non-IL plugins too :) reFX Nexus 2, Native Instruments' plugins too.
FKProds Nice mate :D
Are they free,or expensive as hell ? :D
I'm afraid they are a bit expensive :/
32:24 I laughed my balls out on that
nothing funny there but k
you watched it til there?
I really really wanna watch this video, but i just dont have the patience to watch an hour long tutorial.
Just wanted to share that with people
Then you don't have the patience to put in the hundreds to thousands of hours required to get the experience necessary to make great music. Still, nothing stopping you messing about just for fun - that's how I learned as opposed to using tutorials.
The problem is just that I can't find my way around in FL studio. That's why I wanna watch this. But I was thinking about trying it out again later today.
You sound like the “I’ll do it tomorrow “ type of guy
@@markusvakalis7369 then watch 5 mins and take a break.
great video i watched this as a normal person and after watching it im confident i can go back in the program and actually make something to get me somewhere
Watched the whole thing. learned a TON of good information. keep up the amazing work guy!
@FKProds - would you mind sharing your computer's specs??
thank you!
i7 4770k @ Stock
(At the time) 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB + HDD for sample libraries (now a 500GB SSD)
EVGA 980 SC
Thank you so much! I'm about to buy this software and wanted to be sure I had a system similar to yours. Always worrying about latency issues you know :-) be well and thank you again both for the reply and the tutorial! best-
Wanted to add...mine is an i7 quad core Intel @2.6GhZ, 125GB SSD and a 1TB HDD...16GB RAM. I'm planning on putting the software on the SSD and the VST instruments and saved files on the HDD. If you feel i should do it differently, would love toknow. best, RScott
RScott Sounds good!
I got fl sudio for free so might as well learn how to use it haha
3many15 exactly what I was thinking lol
HOW DID YOU GETIT
Augs Zilla it came with my Razer blade stealth
Augs Zilla, there's a free version, and three purchasable versions. Just search up "FL Studio", then click the first website that comes up, and click "Download"
The free version sucks, but it still works!
Abcawforgetit I don't think the free version let's you save tho right?
32:08 (I am not Canadian)
I've used Fl Studio for 10 years now but I watched this for fun. Might learn something new. Open mind is the key.
Thank you for making this tutorial! I just started using FL 12, and your video tutorial answered a lot of questions I had.
any1 else tryna get ritch?
HPWNorge it's not all about the molah. It is making the music. This is my opinion tho.
I think p much everyone in the world is
18:58
haha he said "purchase" fl studio
+Joseph Cool A surprising amount of people are decent enough to know about give and take. I know because I get plenty of commission from being an affiliate for FL. If someone cannot afford it, I can understand, but wilfully stealing without remorse is no joke.
FKProds yo chill I meant I'm still using the trial
Joseph Cool gr8 save m8
+FKProds yeah I'm just like 14 and have no money to even pay a dollar for anything so I use the trial I can make sick beats but I can never save em 😥 but I guess I'll get it sometime later
lel
Most amazing video and tutorial I have ever watched, it was organized well detailed and overall fairly easy to understand, I hope to see more of your content in the future, and Thank You!
Awesome tutorial, I recenlty (last week) bought FL12, and it came with a nice tutorial book. But after reading it I still didn't know how the automation worked, but now I do thanks to your tutorial :D Thanks alot!
What's up with the stupid music in the background?
very final few seconds freaked me out a bit after such a relaxing and mellow tutorial haha
finally I found a video which actually helps me understand fl studio. tons of thanks for putting this up
thank you so much man. I learned a lot. I understood you but it's always people with accents that do tutorials. Good video . I liked and subscribed
Thank you.
This is so helpful! I switched from Logic Pro and felt lost using FL but your tutorial helped me
Great tutorial it was really helpful and the audio was perfectly put together so your voice was never below the musics volume, keep it up
Thank you, I tried to ensure that but some people seem to think it is "unbearable". It is only a few but it's nice to see someone disagreeing with them. I would find it a bit strange for a music tutorial to be devoid of music :P
FKProds i think i would have rather been confused without music in the tutorial :P
Really like this video. Would have been awesome to have this tutorial when i started out.
This is one of the main videos i recommend people when they are starting out with FL.
Really good tutorial ty! hope for more intermediate/advanced tutorials from you!
Thanks for the great tutorial, I decide to learn FL studio and your video was a great start.
One of the best tutorials for FL STUDIO 12 !!!! THANKS A LOT!!!!
I found this very very helpful as I just got FL Studio. Thank you! I was very confused with all the options and this helped a ton.
