I've used Nexplanon as a birth control for about a decade now. (3 implants so far) I'm super happy with the results. Such an easy process to remove and replace them, and not nearly as painful or invasive as IUDs that go in the uterus.
Have you ever gotten pregnant from yours? I recently got mines implanted in my arm a month ago , & 3 days ago my partner finished in me will i be okay?
You should be ok. The implant is one of the most effective methods: just 1 pregnancy would be expected per 1,000 women using implants over the first year
I had it done roughly 3 weeks ago and I love it. The only bad part was the small incision she made but it was like a wasp sting. The only side effects I'd scant bleeding and bring a LITTLE Moody for me.
I just had this done today and I'm so glad I didn't look up how it's done beforehand because I would have been SO freaked out! 😱 In reality, I didn't feel anything but a slight pinch from the lidocaine needle then pressure, like the nurse was pressing hard on my arm.
Inside the rod contains a hormone called progestogen, and it helps stop the ovaries from producing an egg. It also helps with menstrual cycles if a AFAB person has inconsitent periods, or longlasting periods. Hope this helps!
I got this implant, it didn’t hurt at all. Another commenter said you feel pressure, but I couldn’t even feel them placing the applicator on my skin or their gloves hands touching the area. When I woke up the next day it did hurt, but only if I rubbed that part of my arm. Taking the medical tape they used to dress the wound off was painful because that area was tender.
The implant releases progestin, a hormone that keeps your ovaries from releasing eggs and thickens your cervical mucus-which helps block sperm from getting to the egg in the first place. It prevents pregnancy for up to 5 years
For heavier women, the effectiveness of the implant may decrease near the end of the duration of use stated on the label. These users may want to replace their implants sooner.
Had mine done today! Yah the numbing part stings but only for a couple seconds and then you can’t feel it being inserted at all. Super easy nothing to worry about. 🫶🏻

Can I ask if it causes weight gain?
Some women do report weight change: loss and gain.
The local hurt me abit then I felt nothing just abit of pressure very slight xx I recommend it
Friendly reminder, if you're a ginger you might need more numbing. I could still feel it a little but it was worth it imo

Yes -- you should return to fertility (to being able to get pregnant) any time after the implant is removed.
How is the weight gain on this method
Studies show that, for the most part, implants don’t lead to significant weight gain.

Can one implant if one rod be effective for 5 years or just 3 years only
Currently there is an implant with one rod (Nexplanon is the brand name; previously Implanon) that prevents pregnancy for up to 5 years.
Does it feel pain?
They give a local anesthetic first that numbs the area so you should not feel pain.
they give you lidocaine on the area, so you will feel pressure but nothing else
