Still have my 2013 and it looks like new. Never a single issue with it. I have a much bigger bike but little Suzuki is just so much fun. I will keep her as long as I am able to ride. Very interesting take on this sadly underrated bike in the States. Cheers from North Carolina!

Best review of this bike on the web! Thanks. I have a 2013. Like you I feel this bike performs way above its class. Here in the States a bike must be able to hold 65mph with a little more in reserve or you not safe on the expressways. I ride mostly secondary roads. I have to say I am tempted by the Benelli 500 scrambler which is set up better for of pavement exploring but is otherwise a very similar set up of parallel twin with FI and water cooling. Stay safe and carry on!

I had the very same black naked gw250. Thought I would love it. I tried to but I couldn't. Weight is the biggest issue. Characterless engine. Strange choice of gear ratios. No handlebar adjustability. Questionable looks. My yamaha ybr250 was far more appealing. I imagine the Honda cbf250 is better too. Nice review btw

The Suzuki 250 Inazuma like the V STROM 250 De with the same engine ,are built in China to Suzukis specification . The build & the reliability are just as good as budget Suzukis that where built in Japan . I own the Suzuki V STROM 250 DE here in the U.K. & have not missed my larger capacity motorcycles . I find a small capacity motorcycle will do what a larger capacity bike will do 80 % of the time . PS DE should read DL .

I have had 4 inazuma's now still have two, they are a fantastic machine, alas I sold my inazuma in the UK as I do touring and found the engine to be lacking on the motorway, but still use 2 abroad and plan to ride cross continent in Asia on an inazuma aegis soon

@@Bykersam No body buys a 250 to ride on Motorways ,unless for only a short section or two . I find most of the time I am doing the same speeds on the A & B roads as I was doing on larger capacity bikes I owned . The only advantage of the larger capacity bikes ,was two up riding , easier overtakes where there opportunities were limited ,& long motorway riding . I only use motorways for short sections rarely as I find them monotonous & boring & don’t ride motorcycles to ride on motorways .

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  Рік тому +2

@@maskedavenger2578 I totally agree except for the acceleration when overtaking, if you stay on A and B roads the 250 inazuma is as good as big bikes, but for me as I have 2 abroad, I prefer the bigger bikes here in the UK, although when looking a fuel consumption and price in the UK, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an inazuma 👍

@@Bykersam My Suzuki V Strom 250 De parallel twin ,with the similar Inazuma engine ,is now the largest capacity motorcycle I own . I haven’t missed my larger bikes , I find most riders are riding on normal roads at speeds between 20 - 50 mph most of the time ,no matter what size engine they have. The only advantage of large higher performance bikes is for quick opportunity overtakes in short gaps in traffic in opposing lanes & long high speed motorway rides & higher carrying weight . One of my other bikes is a 2004 Honda Innova 125 ( carb) version which is miserly on fuel & will do 6O to 65 mph with my weight in favourable conditions . I get an average of 80 miles per imp gal from my 250 DE V Strom , which is not bad for a 250 cc with a standard curb weight of 188 kg plus Givi top box & heavy main stand fitted .plus 17 • 5 stone rider . The fuel is quite expensive here in U.K. & although my bike will run on E10 , I prefer to fill up my bikes on the more expensive E5 ,while it’s still available . I managed to get a good deal on the V Strom 250 as it was a Demo bike with very low Miles in mint condition ,it still looked factory fresh & engine & gearbox as smooth as butter . The Inasuma 250 has the same frame ,only a street styled bike , I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a nice second hand example ,if I didn’t have the V Strom 250 ,if looking for a capable reliable cheap to run every day ride . It’s only the front mudguard that really lets it’s looks down ,on first view ,but it’s no worse than the front mudguard on the Hyabusas , which looks back to front . 👍

The first thing I'd do if I bought one would By-pass the arrangement whereby you have clutch in to start the bike. Its an annoying faff.
You just pull out a couple of wires going into the clutch lever assuming it's the same as on a GS500.

    Very nice review !
I ride this bike on a daily basis for two years already. Totally agree on the fact that this is a great bike, huge value for the money, but I'd like to mention a few things you didn't point out (of course, it's only my opinion).
There is no center stand on it originally. You can buy one and get it installed, but it's an extra cost. Mandatory, in my opinion.
Wanted to install some luggage holder for more conveniency as well, but couldn't find anything available. Don't know, these accessories may be available out of western Europe... But neither Suzuki, nor Internet did suggest me any option.
The rear brake is, how can I put it...a bit complicated to handle at the beginning. It brakes very well, but the sensations that you get from it are a bit blur, at least for me. It brakes softly, but the rear wheel locking happens all of sudden, without any "warning". A smooth sensation all along the braking process, that doesn't really evolve until it blocks.
None of this with the front brake ; efficient, easy to control, with reliable feedback.
    The fuel gauge is unreliable.
For the rest, you said everything already.
It's an excellent engine indeed, very smooth, very stable, extremely pleasant to drive. These mid-sized models are not very common here, and most people think that my Imazuma is a 500 or 600 cc...I use it mostly for commuting and it does the job extremely well.
    Greetings from Paris, France.
