Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out some of my other videos if you haven't already :) ALSO, I've heard a lot of people comment about the last note that Geoff sings. It's actually a C# and not a C...but STILL impressive nonetheless. Just want to clarify that for anyone who has been saying that haha
Geoff is on fire with his arrangements right now. This is one he worked on for a long time (years, I understand), and wow, the payoff is well worth the time spent. I've seen Wicked on stage before, but with as great a spectacle as that was, and with talented performers in the cast, I still find this to be more moving. VoicePlay has a real skill at connecting emotionally with their listeners, both through arrangements and performances. But since it 'tis the season, and we were just talking about Geoff, I ought to mention that his cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen dropped this past Friday and it's just as incredible as you'd imagine it to be. Another seasonally appropriate tune to check out, if you're so inclined, is VoicePlay's cover of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Considering you love theater, you will definitely appreciate what they put into the video in terms of makeup and staging. Plus, it is just soooo much fun!
They get the best guest singers. Rachel performed that role on stage before. Emoni (E-Mahon-ee) sang with VoicePlay before on tour. The 2 ladies plus Eli’s high belting notes, Layne’s astonishing vocal percussion, Cesar’s wonderful harmonies and comic relief and Geoff’s bass below the basement and blend make this a fabulous medley. Thanks for your reaction I wish you would react to Little Mermaid Medley or Moana Medley next.
Geoff's arrangement was simply outstanding, especially those transitions. I have to admit, it took me a few listens to fully appreciate the amazing harmonies in defying gravity because I couldn't wrap my mind around what Layne and Geoff were doing. They were simply flawless. Layne's beat was out of this world. Especially whatever it was that he did at 9:23 in your video. I still haven't heard a reactor comment on that part which is understandable given the amazing harmonies going on in the background at the time.
Geoff is not only a great singer but with his last two VP arrangements he is one of the best at arranging also. And is it just me or does Geoff need to arrange a VP version of Carol of the Bells?
Honey, we're gonna need to get you plushies or something that you can safely throw if you're going to keep reacting to Voiceplay songs (or Geoff's solo stuff... *wink wink*). 🤣🤣🤣
I love watching your fanboy reactions to Voiceplay! Try something less theatric - Can't Help Falling in Love or Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Also, when you start on Geoff's solo work, watch his latest, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen first, then go for House of the Rising Son. Biscuit!
I jumped in late, so I had to run it back to see the whole reaction. I really love your reactions. I think you said you will be doing Geoff’s latest release, and I’m looking forward to that. Although you can’t go wrong with any of their music, I would like to suggest one in particular - True Colors. It’s an older video, and a departure from what you’ve seen so far. No makeup or costumes. No beatboxing (Layne sings in his beautiful baritone!). When Layne did the arrangement, he very much wanted people to really listen to the words. But the words are wrapped in a beautiful arrangement and filmed creatively. I think you’ll love it.
Geoff also does a cover of 16 Tons....mostly known as one of Tennessee Ernie Ford's songs!!! The Theatrics are Great!!! And "House of The Rising Sun"!!!
Yessss!!! I clicked so fast when I saw this. I LOVED your reaction!! Perhaps Voiceplay’s Phantom of the Opera with Rachel???? The Phantom is played by Tony Wakim a former member of Voiceplay. He has a wonderful voice 🤓 ALSO***** Voiceplay feat. Emoni “Love on Top” from The Sing Off Tour 😍
I love your reactions, they’re so animated!! Btw you can actually purchase all of voctave & voiceplay songs on iTunes. You should react to the following: 1. Voiceplay Oogie Boogie 2. Voctave Disney love medley with Kirsten from Pentatonix 3. Voctave O come all ye Faithful I love both of these groups, they’re amazing!!
Your reactions make me LOL I feel like we would crack each other up in real life! hahahaha I hadn't heard this one by Voiceplay yet, and this did NOT disappoint!
So you are saying you are now a Voice Player (fan name)? I enjoy your reactions to my favourite acapella group and the fact that appreciate what everyone brings to the table. ❤️
Great reaction! You definitely should listen to Geoff’s God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as well. I’m not a fan of Christmas carols (long story), but that one is now in my iTunes library.
I’ll be back tomorrow! Please do an analysis! I learn so much from you all. ( I should have said y’all since yes, you did sound so country. The arrangement is amazing - years in the works. There is such a chemistry between them all. You are saying Emoni correctly. She also sang with them in The Bones. Her voice has that R & B tone that is a contrast to Rachel’s princess voice. Each of them sounds so different. It shouldn’t work but it does. At the start of Good News, Cesar riffs up and Eli comes in riffing back on down. I don’t know why but I just really like that. They all did such an amazing job.
Chris, You'll also Love 'Home Free' as they cover songs like "I Fell In To A Ring of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues" both originally done by Country Music Legend and Hall of Famer, Johnny Cash!!!
If you want to hear some seasonal music. My favorite Christmas Voiceplay songs are: you’re a mean one mr. grinch & mission jingle bells. They are so creative with their storytelling. PS I sound extra country when I get excited too.
Whether you react to it on your channel or not, I have to recommend one of my favorite performances of “Defying Gravity,” which was done by Scott and Mitch of Pentatonix under their joint project called “Superfruit.” And yeah, they’re fooling around and having a bit of a lark with it, but holy cow, Mitch blew the roof off with the notes he hit.
Yeah.... That last note Geoff hit was a C1. Welcome to the Drama Club of a cappella. Emoni sang with VoicePlay when the group competed on The Sing Off, lo so many years ago.
Earlier in VP career they did Phantom of the Opera arrangement with Rachel. It is beyond awesome. You should check it out. It as been a hot minute since I have seen it, but it has Geoff, Lane, Elle, Earl, Toni and Rachel. It’s a must see. You will love 💕 it!! Thanks for your videos.
May I recommend Sixteen Tons amd Blackbirds for Geoff, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes for the transitions and theatrics, and Voctave's Mashup of I Put A Spell On You/Poor Unfortunate Souls that has Rachel in it? I think you'd enjoy those quite a bit.
Love your reactions! You’re the biscuits with my gravy! 😍. Never stop. Another reaction suggestion, if you want, for the musician in your soul is Dirty Loops. Their “Next to You” song is amazing! You’ll need to buckle up though….. ua-cam.com/video/rV9uCmlMQ1c/v-deo.html
Ok. If you like this then you NEED to check out the collaboration between Peter Hollens and Nick Pitera on their Wicked Medley. Be warned though. There are two different ones. One on each channel. Depending on whose channel you pull up depends on who sings the ending. The rest is the same. I recommend listening to Nick’s.
If you love musical theatre (and we'd love to see more!) than might I recommend Cynthia Erivo? Her oscars performance of "Stand UP" (which she also wrote) is incredible. Equally stellar is "I'm Here" from The Color Purple (she won a Tony for that). Or anything Sondheim!
I believe Rachel played Elphaba in one of the Wicked touring companies. She's also worked at Disney and has sung several of the princess roles. As a side note, if you don't mind sharing, are you from North Carolina? You sound like me and my relatives!
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out some of my other videos if you haven't already :) ALSO, I've heard a lot of people comment about the last note that Geoff sings. Much more to come including the ones you mentioned! ;) Thanks for watching!

Emoni was in TEN, the group that came in second to Home Free on The Sing Off. Rachel was on Broadway in Wicked.
Geoff's arrangement was simply outstanding, especially those transitions. "Hold on I gotta pick it up because I'm gonna throw it again" 😂 I love your reactions
Haha thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoy :)
When Caesar says "Kill the witch," and Geoff looks at him like, "Bring it down a notch."
Every one of them had several great moments in this.
Haha love it!
Geoff is not only a great singer but with his last two VP arrangements he is one of the best at arranging also. And is it just me or does Geoff need to arrange a VP version of Carol of the Bells?
I second the Carol of the Bells arrangement!
He did an awesome version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
what can I say? Voiceplay are amazing! ❤️🏴
Honey, we're gonna need to get you plushies or something that you can safely throw if you're going to keep reacting to Voiceplay songs (or Geoff's solo stuff... *wink wink*). 🤣🤣🤣
Haha smart idea! 😂
Biscuit!
"you betta out a twist on it sista" i laughed so hard haha
Hahaha .. I think you would love Geoff’s rendition of Monster Mash!!! Wonderful choreography and of course Geoff’s singing 😂🤣😂
Now you need to check out Geoff's new Christmas release. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen | Low Bass Singer Cover. Another Goff Quartet.
Eli sings what ever he wants in upper range.
Really, Eli just sings whatever, wherever he wants. Elastic range.
I jumped in late, so I had to run it back to see the whole reaction. I really love your reactions. I think you said you will be doing Geoff’s latest release, and I’m looking forward to that.

You heard correctly! And I’ll check into that one :)
This is like my 100th watch of this. I absolutely LOVE your reaction to this!
I'm glad you enjoy it that much!!! haha ;)
If you remember the little mermaid medley, you might understand why Geoff was so concerned at how excited Cesar was to kill the witch! 😂
You are so awesome to watch! Seeing you reacting to VoicePlay tickles my heart. They are so incredible and I'm so happy when others feel the same!!
Have listened to this many times, and it still just floors me how great they all are. Amazing
Geoff also does a cover of 16 Tons....mostly known as one of Tennessee Ernie Ford's songs!!! The Theatrics are Great!!! And "House of The Rising Sun"!!!
I totally forgot one on my list; listen to voctave and Rachel Potter doing Poor unfortunate souls/I put a spell on you medley. ❤️ amazing!!
Thanks for this, I really like your reactions!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoy :)
Yessss!!! I clicked so fast when I saw this. I LOVED your reaction!!
Perhaps Voiceplay’s Phantom of the Opera with Rachel???? The Phantom is played by Tony Wakim a former member of Voiceplay. He has a wonderful voice 🤓

Wish more people recommended phantom. Gives me chills at the end

I know I'm late to the party, but to break in the pods you might VoicePlay's We're Good and Halo covers, both are fantastic with headphones.
My friend, or man Geoff just realized his latest personal work… you need to listen, it’s crazy
Emoni has appeared in one of their videos before called I love me
So you are saying you are now a Voice Player (fan name)? I enjoy your reactions to my favourite acapella group and the fact that appreciate what everyone brings to the table. ❤️
Great reaction! You definitely should listen to Geoff’s God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as well. I’m not a fan of Christmas carols (long story), but that one is now in my iTunes library.
I loathe Christmas songs. This one is just so epic I can't stop playing it

I recommend watching their cover of Just Sing for some talent lusciousness. Make sure to watch with the captions on 😊
Layne's beatboxing is almost in the category of black magic/mind f*kery

I believe Geoff said it took some years to arrange this one.
Yeah.... That last note Geoff hit was a C1. Welcome to the Drama Club of a cappella. Emoni sang with VoicePlay when the group competed on The Sing Off, lo so many years ago.
It was Honey LaRochelle that sang with them in the show. Emoni did I Love Me with them later. She's also done The Bones and Bubble Yum with them.
That was Honey LaRochelle. Emoni was in another group
C#1*
@@natebaker3672 Appologies, and thanks for the correction.
@@darscrack Dang... I'm going tone deaf.

Thanks for watching! I definitely want to react to Phantom soon :)
If no one has suggested their Phantom of the Opera video yet I strongly suggest it! Rachel is in it as well
Requesting for the following because theyre awesome:
oogie boogie song - voiceplay
God rest ye merry gentlemen - Geoff Castellucci
You'll also Love "The Grinch"!!!!
Voiceplay's cover of "The Grinch"
You MUST do Oogie Boogie’s Song and the Little Mermaid/Moana medleys! You will ENJOY those too!
Definitely got them coming soon! :)

you should take a look at "my mother tolde me" and "if I were a rich man/girl"
If you love musical theatre (and we'd love to see more!) than might I recommend Cynthia Erivo? Her oscars performance of "Stand UP" (which she also wrote) is incredible. Equally stellar is "I'm Here" from The Color Purple (she won a Tony for that).

Would love to add Cynthia to the channel! Thanks for suggesting! :)
Rachel took this over
I believe Emoni rhymes with pony. It's an o there in the middle. And on the internet it says it that way.
Gotcha! Thanks!
You should checkout their Moana Medley and Little Mermaid Medley
I’m sending swishy things so you can throw and not break.
Haha deal!
Chris, did you hear Layne "pop" the bubble?!!!
Sure did! 😜
Check out Voiceplay's cover of Oogie Boogie song. GEOFF'S vocal range is SICK !
Got it coming out soon! :)
I believe Rachel played Elphaba in one of the Wicked touring companies. She's also worked at Disney and has sung several of the princess roles. As a side note, if you don't mind sharing, are you from North Carolina? You sound like me and my relatives!
I’m from Georgia! 🍑😆
