Peace Pipe is a song by British Instrumental band The Shadows
This is a rerecording for me using the fabulous Vintage Sounds VST plugin - More information available at vintage-sounds...
For this video i used my Squier Classic Vibe 50s Strat with Gauge 11-49 Strings and George Dennis 1.05 guitar pics. No sound processing otherwise all you are hearing is the VST plugin in Reaper.
Backing track came from the UB Hank CD.

Thank you Steve. I consider Steve Reynolds as the best ever guitarist covering the songs of The Shadows. I have been playing The Shadows for the last 61 years, since 1960 till today, and still cannot play like Steve. I do not invest as much in instruments (echo, amplifiers, guitars etc.). For 61 years, i have only 3 electric guitars and the last one is dated since 1980. Recently I added a G1Xon Zoom with a new Fender Champion 20 and a second hand Champion 40 amplifiers. I adjust them to get the best Hank Marvin Shadows sound possible and i just enjoy my retirement days with it..

Nice authentic sound. I have the same model guitar (and I too, added a pearly scratchplate). I screened the body cavity and under the scratchplate with aluminium foil, which reduced unwanted noise. Mine has the tone control connected to the bridge pickup, making it much more usable than the original design.

Very good rendering. IMO with digital technology is possible to get very good sound, even better then using a good tube amp like AC15/30, at least for recording. But the playing is also very important.

Great job Steve, and always a great sound. do you know any other programs that the VST will work on? i was using the VST host application that came with it but it sometimes crashes.

Thanks Dale. Unfortunately even Reaper needs the built in programme to run it so i don't think there is any other option sadly. Have you tried asking Christian on the forum?

Nice track, Steve, as always. Seems a simple solution that you're working with and sounds good. How does Reaper compare with Logic Pro X (or is Reaper Windows Only)

Thanks Ian hope you are good. Reaper is not bad, its for both windows and Mac but Logic has a nice interface in my opinion and a little simpler to use
