Well, it never actually appears in game, pirated or not. Even if it did, just a simple light hearted "Please donate" message is 1000x better than most other developer's method of dealing with piracy.

well I don't know, sending a unkillable, over powered enemy on a pirate may or may not be right depending on who you ask, but does make some great reactions for youtube :)

I guess this way pirates will probably leave this stuff in the game and as such it'll get spread around, better to get the occasional donation from the pirates who were touched by the gesture or decided they thought the game was worth it than get nothing.
If they had actually implemented it of course.

That's so cool how the creators of Freedom Planet put bloopers in the game AND made animated cutscenes for them! That's such a brilliant idea and I don't understand why more game developers use it. Guess it's just a Freedom Planet charm for now.
So, I am not sure if nobody has found this one, or if nobody wants to talk about it, but there is another "blooper" that was not mentioned in the video. After the Fortune Night level, there is a cutscene where Brevon kills a soldier. Syntax then appears and asks Brevon if he has beheaded the intruders. If you are doing the Outakes/Bloopers easter egg during this cutscene, when Syntax appears, she will say her line like usual, but immediately afterwards, she makes static noises (and also laughs, probably because of her VA). Pressing another button to make the cutscene advance will crash the game. So you could say that doing this makes you run into a Syntax Error

Wow, out of all games that have protocols on handling piracy, Freedom Planet left a simple, yet kind message that you can still play the pirate game anyway. There was no consequence behind the message. They knew it was gonna happen so they let the "pirate" player know that you can expect more features of the next game and be sure to donate some money if they like.
It's so unheard of, but surprisingly I like it xD.
Huh, instead of stopping you for pirating, they wanted to just let you know you should pay for it if you want the second game.
That's why I didn't pirate it. I paid for it.

I want this game now. It seems like it’s actually REALLY cool. It also seems kinda like Sonic, and I like Sonic, so...
Not sure it's really an easter egg since it's an achievement, but one of my favorites so far is how the characters bust out dancing if you leave them idle for a second or two around any of the disco balls in the mall. It's so damned cute I almost have to rip up my man card. Just randomly discovered that on my third play through.
I love funny little things like that in this type of game. It really makes it seem like these developers care a lot more about this game then most of the people who put out all these zillion dollar, repetitive triple A games these days. I've gotten way more enjoyment out of much smaller games, by smaller developers over the last year or so. Ori and the Blind Forest is another one.
My brother would agree with you. He has a ton of more respect for Indie devs than huge videogame development companies.

This is actually pretty indepth. There are also some unused beta graphics in the games files, unused color swaps for each of the characters, and I think the game still has unfinished files for Spade, who would've been playable.
I heard a really silly line from Brevon's VA once (in a MUGEN set for Carol, of all things) that I've never heard in-game. He uh… starts singing about a fart, for some reason. In so doing, he mangles a line from The Sound Of Music and probably several other things too, then follows up with "Come on, Syntax, sing along."
