Great surprise for my Saturday. I know, Matt, I love devices where somebody actually designed it to be simple and effective ! And isn't it nice to know you inspire Kenan to tackle big jobs with your presence . . . and your shovel work ! Loved every Corny, joke... and Nos as the line inspector....then at the end, was inspired to go back out to My current outdoor project with a grin on my face! Thanks🥰
Not only can you keep animals outside, you don't have to bury your water lines 4ft to make sure the frost won't reck them ah the joys of Canada. I always enjoy your videos over the last few years and watching the kamp grow and all the upgrades and new additions inspires me even if i can't replicate them in my climate.
Great video. Its always great when Matt is around. Love the banter!! Nothing better than corney jokes and puns to get a job done with a big smile on your face 😊❤
Nozzy, darwin and socrates seem to love matt like we all do, great to see you bud. They are going to love this, specially darwin, she loves her mud wallows ❤
This is one of my favorite videos. 🤣😂 I’ve said this before, tortoises are just cats with shells! In every inch of your business, refuses to move, goes deaf at the very first command and is always cute while being a giant pain in the butt!!! 😂😂😂 Nos is the best! Thanks Kenan and Matt for a great video.
That looks great!!Living up here in the Great North, watching you put water lines above ground or 6 inches underground is mind boggling!! If the lines aren’t below the frost line, at least 4+ feet here, everything freezes and explodes. Count your blessings how easy that project was!!!!
looks good Kenan! maybe creating a 2 vertical bamboo for support 1 from outside and 1 from the inside of the fence (maybe) and have a horizontal bamboo hanging from the 2 vertical bamboos with an inserted hose. In that way the tortoise can't reach the hose. :)
Hi Kenan Excellent idea, you are so creative. Saves on clean up. Nostradamus is was your supervisor, and checking out your work. Have to give it a taste test😅. Matt is such a big help, and does excellent videos. Love your channel, and all of your reptiles. Cindy from St.Petersburg
Very cool project! So much easier than running water lines in Canada, ours have to be buried a minimum of 6 feet to avoid them freezing. I wonder if spray painting the poly tube to match the concrete would make it less noticeable to the tortoises
The amount of things you get done is truly inspiring. When I'm wanting to take a break on tasks I say to myself "Kenan would be done by now" 😅 Also, idea to conceal the hose. Expanding foam with small rocks on it as it cures 🤔 can be taken off relatively easily if needed 😊
Good idea. I might’ve suggested threading the polyvinyl water tube through a larger pipe (either heavy-gauge PVC or metal) just under the section that crosses the driveway. Then the vehicles can’t compress it over time with their weight. You can also plant a hardy (non-toxic) vine and train it to grow up that bamboo to obscure it. You may need to protect it until it gets established. Trailing Rugosa (beach roses) have edible rose hips the tortoises would enjoy eating for extra vitamin “C.”
Nostradamus is such a good boy... trying to help. He is so curious... 😂 Patiently waiting until all the straps are done so he can play with it. Perhaps it would be fun to make some toys for them... that they can explore... and eventually destroy... 😊
It would be cool if it could end in one of those tipping bamboo water features, but somehow I don't think it would last long with those massive torty beaks exploring it 😂
You could probably cover it with some concrete and match the texture to the rest of the pond. Maybe cover it with some type of cloth so the concrete doesn't set directly against the plastic tubing.
Maybe double up on the bamboo. Next size up encasing the first pieces. They will eventually bite through those zip ties . So 2 layers will keep them from the tube If and when that happens.
@Kenan, can you connect that tubing to some pvc? Then you can lock the pvc to the rock and cover it with cement. That way, you don't have to worry about the torts eating the tubing.
🐢 🐢 are so intelligent and inquisitive. Use some wire mesh around the tube, then the bamboo. Plus use that cut off piece of pipe (no waste) as the hose that you attach when you need to wash, water/mud the area. If possible keep the hose extension near the enclosure..
Nostradamus being the site safety inspector 🤣😂 assessing your hard work 🐢They are so inquisitive and have to come and ‘help’ when you are tweaking their enclosures, my lil Hermann’s does exactly what Nostradamus did 🤣 bite tests everything I do 🐢🤗🐢
The tortoise is like oh hay what's this what's that hey can ya show me how this works hey can I get a bite is it good food come on man u see me here waiting lmao
I love your idea of the bamboo to cover the tubing. I thinking of using the putting the tube inside the bamboo and screw the bamboo to pond like you did with the tube then the tortoises will then be unable to bite it because they cannot get a grip on it
Probably in the future you'll need to build a structure from the outside overlapping the pond like showering the pond because they just might end up destroying it because of there size and curiosity but above all it's a great idea far as less labor💪👍 love your vids keep up the great work
Seeing Nostradamus chewing on the bamboo was a surprise. So now we know that whatever you construct, it must be protected from tortoises. The ignorant, such as myself, would have thought that if it wasn't food they would ignore it. KampKenan is indeed an Educational Channel.
Here's a thought, terminate the pipe just outside the enclosure. Point the end up and put some kind of nozzle on it. The water jets up and over in an arc and splashes down in the pond. Sort of like a fountain. No extra plumbing past the wall.
@0:02 -- Closest thing to a Tortoise Smile I've seen from one of Kenan's house guests! They're both Aldabras in this still, aren't they? The younger/smaller one is the male, correct? Now, they WON'T be waiting until Kenan is dozing off in La-La Land to take the truck out for a ride! The Galaps are the ones you have to look out for!
😅The tortises are sooo much help!😂 I would recommend enclosing the tubing on the front side of the water feature, not just on the top, because their lower jaw can make contact with the tubing from underneath.🤦♀️
Wirg close to a million subscribers, one of them has to have the means and knowhow to bore through that concrete. Reach out and find them. Invite them out and git-er done. 4hat way you eliminate the eyesore and the need to potentially repair/replace the tubing as it gets "nibbled" on.
Hey Kenan. What if you feed the poly tubing through a larger pipe, then cement that larger pipe to their pond? If something happens to the tubing, you can replace it easily! The tortoises won’t want to chew on the cement.
Kennen I don't think that bamboo that bamboo is gonna lasts. You are going to need to use something stronger. You can keep the bamboo there but here's a suggestion. Cover the bamboo with concrete. It won't effect the tubing because the bamboo is covering it. And the Tortoises won't try to eat it. Out of Site, out of mind. Plus you will be able to just pull the tubing out from the concrete because of the bamboo covering over it. And you can make the concrete look like it's always been part of the pond.
I had the same thought as well. Concrete is the way to go. Plus, if you added some rocks as well you could then make it look like a spring bubbling out of the ground instead of a pipe emptying into the pond.
Oh man. I have a customer that has an Aldabra and they have no clue how to care for them. I have offered to take it, explained so many things about them. But they just have no clue. Ive now takin it on as my personal responsibility to educate them every time I see them. I work pest control so I see them every 3 months but I am always setting follow ups so my office doesnt get hip to me going there in between services. 😂. I find a way. The tort has become by bestie😊
I think the big test will be giant tortoises stepping on and walking over the bamboo 🐢! I wonder if there is a way to run the hose up that big tree outside the enclosure and make the water rain over the whole water hole 🌧
Looks good but maybe build some kind of box ot something to protect the elbow on the water pond. I have a feeling he's gonna keep testing it till it's busted. Or even like one of the box's you put around electric, for the outside it has a pop out in the back and bottom perfect for your water line and since it's a tough metal it can be screwed right into there water rock. May have better luck and to hide it do like maybe a bamboo fence like around it leading up to the main spout. Just a 💡 idea..
That bamboo covering the pipe reminds me of a Shishi Odoshi fountain. You could make one with all that bamboo you have. In Japan, it's traditionally supposed to keep nuisance animals away like herons and racoons from ponds, gardens and crops.
Could get some concrete or whatever and cover it a s make it look like the the original pond. Or just place a hollowed log cut in half over it as well.
The puns are hard to get through but so rewarding. Hearing the bird calls in the background make me homesick. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nostradamus is just supervising your guys work.
🤠
Watching Nostradamus be so curious (and destructive🤣) made my day. I’m sorry, Kenan…it made me laugh so hard!!🐢❤️🐢
That was my favorite part also!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@KampKenan There´s no messing with that inspection process... LOL
It's amazing how curious the tortoises are in everything you do in their enclosure❤
Sweet as Kenan..kamp is really looking good.. you done so much last few years.. much love and respect
Seeing Matt get more comfortable around and interact with the animals more and more as time goes on so cool to see!
I like Matt 😁😁😁😁

I love it Sally. The grin needs to be remembered. That grin will lead to many accomplishments. - Tom
Love that Nos was right there. It never fails when I am working on something Scarlet has to be right there. Tortoises are so inquisitive!

Hello great video information Kenan
It’s so satisfying when you finish a job, the bamboo is definitely the finishing touch 👍💯🖖
So true!
The Kamp is looking flipping phenomenal my friend!
I think covering it with quick Crete and blend it into the rest of the pond. Thanks for the great videos.
It cracks me up that your tortoises are so nosy! 😂
My favorite. Watching Kenan create.
Looks good! The bamboo is a nice touch. The tortoises are so curious lol

I have been watching the threads waiting for this video!!! I want to live just like you man
Love watching Nossy's curiosity. Something that occurred to me is that you could have run the tubing through the bamboo.
He did that
Simpel and amazing
Always an Adventure to be had at the Kamp!! Awesome!
I was just commenting on the other video... I would live a larger video about the big tortoises... and here they are... the big ones... ❤❤❤
I love got that tortoise really got involved with the process and came to investigate your workmanship!
Nice and efficient set up. The Kamp is really coming together.
you could put of drilled a hole through the cement over cover the tubing with clear gel or put more cement on top of it
Great work guys ❤❤❤❤
Great episode guys ❤❤❤ love it

FINALLY!!! I've been so irritated about that water hole or lack of water hole since I first started watching years ago...good job guys!! 👏👏👏🐢🐢🐢🐊🐊🐍🐍

Extremely typical tortoise behavior to be super nosy AND instantly want to destroy the bamboo/hose xD
I really enjoyed your video.

Not long!
Good idea but i think you're right.
Dang Matt! Now you know bamboo is no joke, it’ll get ya! 😬
End result looks great though!
Build it higher up. Hid it with the plants/trees.
😮 looking amazing 😁👍. Though do yourself a favour and remember the eye protection the next time you're using the drill as accidents do happen 🙈
Great job BIG DOGGIE 💯👣

They will eventually bite through those zip ties . So 2 layers will keep them from the tube If and when that happens.
You could always concrete over the pipe and bamboo to blend it in with the water bowl. Just an idea to kinda hide it.looks good either way.
37 mins later 2 trips to the hardware store and we're back n action
That was creepy as hell. Thanks for taking us along with you!
use chicken wire and cement to cover the hose

Cut the bamboo so it would fit over the hose and glue the bamboo to the hose

I think it would be neat to build a tiki hut over the water pond, it would help keep out the pine needles and cut down on algae also.

Hammer time 😂
Maybe a bamboo arch over the tortoise’s path. Run the tubing inside the bamboo.
Foam or concrete might work to hide it better and make it so they dont nibble on it
Mix up some mortar or Quikrete and put over the pipe then you could sculpt it to match the rock pool
sweeeet.... Happy early Birthday!

You should try running the pipe through a long piece of bamboo so it looks like the water is running out of the bamboo
You need to get you some cocoa trees. they are very nice looking tropical tree with many color pods of coca.
U should hollow out a piece of bamboo and run the poly tubing through the bamboo
Hey Kenan. What if you feed the poly tubing through a larger pipe, then cement that larger pipe to their pond? If something happens to the tubing, you can replace it easily! The tortoises won’t want to chew on the cement.

Waterall expanding foam can be cut to shape and used to make a micro waterfall with the inside come on black to so can blend it in
