Maybe my exemplar was really having a flaw, since you are the second one complaining about the sound. I have never really bonded with the "Dirty Dog" in all the years, perhaps because something was not okay. Or does it only sound good through a solid state amp? I don't have it anymore, so no chance to find that out.
Good move on the noise suppression. I used to have one of these and I remember it being very noisy. I love Peavey stuff though. The old USA stuff anyway.
I actually have a really old and dirty one and I've been playing it through one of those Amazon tube amps and I'm really impressed with the lead channel. It's not that noisy unless I try to stack it, but when stacking it adds up really quick. Funny enough, I like the lead for chuggy nu-metalish rhythm stuff and the other channel for lead work with a dimed out fuzz behind it.
I don't know if it's just me but this video didn't make this pedal sound heavy at all..... Like weak sauce all the way. I love mine and it's got way more trash crunch but my lead channel is quite and not working properly.
Maybe it depends on the amp you use. I used a Marshall tube amp, which should have an impact on the sound. If you are used to hear it through a solid state amp it's no real wonder why the sound of my video doesn't deliver the sound you know. For me the Dirty Dog has never been a go-to pedal for heavy distortion.
No, it's not for sale. It was given to me in a pedal exchange tour and I like it too much to give it away. I have seen a few Dirty Dogs for sale at Reverb in the last years. You will find one for sure.
Whoa
I love my Dirty Dog, but if it sounded like this, it would go to my tech immediately. Never heard such a great pedal sound so bad. Congrats?

Great!

Is the Dirty Dog for sale? Been looking for one of those.
