Black Sabbath had hired aa sound engineer for their live album. This was the lineup of Iommi, Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice. The engineer was drinking a lot, and he would mess up all the music and put the blame on Ronnie and Vinny saying they were going into the studio and turning up the vocals and drums.
@@BootsBloodyBoots the one that comes to mind is Sabbath at Ozzfest 99 , Ozz , Tony , and Geezer all sitting together drinking tea and chatting about some of the other bands like Rob Zombie
I think they got the best of Dio before they got back with an on fire Tony Martin. Dio was too but he wanted to go for an even nastier sound. I'm glad Sabbath was more melodic and even gentle on Cross Purposes.

Love this interview.
Iommi destroys Martin a couple of times, but it's honest at least.

Good stuff !!
Thanks a lot!
Iommi didnt like the album at all he admitted years later. I think you can see here too he isnt that enthousiastic.
It was a too long process to record Dehumanizer. Maybe he was tired...
Iommi is lying about Martin knowing and that it was a fair split.
Sabbath family... Splits all the time from 1976 to 2016...
