I liked when Ventura said that he was on the verge of jumping into the ring to act as a replacement ref. Cole or Pat should have instantly responded with something like "Yeah, you have a great history of being an unbiased ref, Jesse", to poke fun at how Ventura literally refused to count any of Triple H's pins at SummerSlam 1999.
Yes! Lil natch fucked KO! You cannot make a legal pinfall from outside the ring! It's in the rulebook! Just like when a wrestler is under the ropes, the ref can't count.
Kevin Owens as a heel is his best work.... his mouth alone can put him into the main event of Wrestle-mania Vegas. Legendary work being done by Mr. Wrestling
I'm 38, I don't think this means Cody can't be a baby face. This was someone that tried to injure him and his friend so he is willing to punish him. He didn't need it to win, he had an opportunity. I'm fine with discussing how to see it but it's weird how definitive the convo will sometimes be when there's easy ways to explain what happened.
9:48 to be fair a couple of weeks ago in Smackdown Cody told KO to bring it and he said that he was gonna do deep and do whatever it took to win. He didn’t take the chair in but it was there. Might as well use it

Finally someone said it. Cody is literally the new John Cena for the children. He’s not going heel and Cody left AEW because fans were forcing a heel change on him
Exactly. If he didn’t turn heel in AEW for the sickos, he’s not going to turn heel because of a vocal minority of internet fans or a bunch of fat slobs from Long Island who pregamed a little too hard in the bleacher section of the building suddenly decided to get cute at one show. 😂
@adee_3199 Exactly, it's very obvious that's what he is, and for some reason people are blind to it. He already was a heel multiple times in wwe, this back half of his career is about him being the face of the company.
He didn't directly say I'm going to piledrive you. What he did say was 'I wouldn't hurt you last time, this time I'll cross the line'. Cody responded saying basically, good, I will too. Making everything he did last night to KO acceptable.
I loved it, but I'm 51. But my kids 14 and 11 thought he was the best announcer ever. He also convinced my kids to turn on Cody, who they loved. But Cody winning got booed, the crowd chanted, "One more time!" & "You deserve it!" After the post-Match attack!
Yoooooooo.... Jesse was my favorite part of that show. My favorite line "you call that taking advantage, I call it cheating" 🤣🤣🤣 That man was gold on commentary
Honestly, SNME felt to me like how watching Raw and Smackdown felt in the late 90s early 2000's. Short, stiff, and intense matches, with some wild angle to close the show. (And for those of you who are younger and find it hard to believe that we saw shows of this caliber twice a week, well, believe it! lol)
Cody already said that he would be willing to cross the line against Kevin, and so he did when Kevin brought the chair...that's it, babyfaces hace done this of using a weapon that the heel planned to use against them for years

HBK did the same thing in his feud with Batista/Jericho. When he faked an injury. Cody isnt turning anytime soon. People are setting their expectations for disappointment. Cody wants to be John Cena.
Bully is correct, they made it such that it was a promo that WWE is coming to Netflix … they did it well! I can see how SNME would attract curious viewers who also have Netflix.
Bully saying Cody needs to be perfect for the fans to stay on his side is so stupid, he thinks fans are dumb and can’t see what wrestlers actions really mean
@lexflextexmex To me it just sounds like Bully wants to be one of the writers...... But I'd say that his take on things is a little too short sighted to be one of the writers
It was a breath of fresh air to actually hear a heel commentary, which was probably very foreign to younger generations. I loved the heel perspective done right. And bring back the winged eagle style title it's iconic.
This might be a far-fetched fantasy, but imagine KO delivering a piledriver to Triple H, forcing him to step down as head of creative for a few months. It could open up intriguing storylines about who temporarily takes over in his absence. The chaos of "inmates running the asylum" could make for some compelling television.
19:00 I think this SNME was a ploy to get as many new fans as possible as well as returning fans with the nostalgia to get as many eyeballs as possible for RAW on Netflix
If triple h can't get physical under any circumstance you could still have Kevin "pile drive" triple h by simply only showing the aftermath in like a parking lot or somewhere backstage. We don't need to see triple h actually be pile drove for it to be able to be part of the story. Tricks like that have been done in wrestling plenty of times I remember when simple camera tricks were used to have big show chokeslam Kurt angle off a balcony thing to concrete below they put a pool of blood under Kurt's head and everything.
I've waited 10 years for that package piledriver. God that felt so good. The absolute perfect spot to bring it back. That move is what made Kevin Steen the man. Kll Steen Kll

Cody’s not turning heel anytime soon. The crowd booed probably because New York City produced some of the greatest heels in pro wrestling history. He’s finally meant to be a babyface. The last thing WWE needs to be doing is to pull a “Big Dog Roman Reigns” move on Cody Rhodes, in other words, force the crowd to receive him the way management wants them to (in the case of Roman Reigns then, that controversial forced face run, while those incels are doing the same thing right now). The people who are forcing Cody to turn heel is just like a certain Irish-American forcing the now OTC to be a babyface post-SHIELD back in the day.
I see nothing wrong with Rhodes using the chair... especially how they have been slowly building cody up as a selfish person over the last few weeks. And it keeps the drama going. Cody going over Owens clean would have been so whack
There is a strong case for just about everyone in the WWE locker room to dislike Cody Rhodes. There is a growing segment of the fans that feel that way as well. Awesome, natural progression towards a different path for Cody. He does heel stuff frequently but it's when he's been pushed to his limit.
Cody used the exposed turnbuckle against Brock, he hit AJ Styles with the steel steps after the match was over, and now he used the chair on KO. People did the "woah", they cheered after the 3 count, and they all gasped when KO attacked him and hit him with pile driver.
Bingo. And why? Because Cody Rhodes is the guy. He’s the one who fans want. The only people who are over on his level are CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, Randy Orton and Becky Lynch, and maybe Main Event Jey Uso and LA Knight. That’s it. They are the top stars. A few are getting close, but the shows have them at the top.

I think they did the finish the way they did to protect Kevin and give him an out for a rematch especially since Cody even said there was no line he wouldn't cross to win. The post-show angle where he gave Cody the Package Piledriver and sent him out in an ambulance sounds like an angle to possibly get the title off of him, which while not ideal because Cody could lose the belt himself and be fine, would also give someone else a big chance to rise up the card and maybe face Kevin in a decision match for the title. I don't think this is setting up a heel turn for Cody though simply because of how he said he wouldn't hesitate to cross the line in this match if need be and again, they wouldn't do that angle off-air if that was the case and if they're gonna use this to vacate the title, they could further explain that Cody voluntarily relinquished his championship because he knew it was best for the company to keep their top title on the show rather than on the sidelines with him
That's bc the cross roads isn't good enough to be a finisher. How often does he have to do 3 of them to put someone away? So are we just going to keep changing what constitutes cheating? Since when has hitting an object with your opponent been cheating...you can put someone through the announce table(not cheating) you can throw them into the stairs(not cheating) falling on a chair(has never been considered cheating any any point) USING the object is when its cheating hitting your opponent with the stairs hitting your opponent with the chair not hitting the object with the person.
I loved Ventura on commentary for the match but are we seriously acting like there hasn't been heel commentators that would call out baby faces and spin things in favor of the heels? Heel Lawler and heel JBL were great at that. JBL would call them hypocrites and every name in the book calling out when baby faces did heel stuff.
Kevin is thanos and cody is thor. We've seen what happens when you don't go for the head, even as a hero or face.Thor lost that inner hero inside of him.And in the end when we did see him take that headshot, knowing what thanos would've done.we didnt see him as the bad guy.We all know what kevin would have done. This narrative with the chair is going to drive me up the wall! Also its very easy to disagree with people and not break their necks in the proccess.Think back on Cody's career. His character doesn't call for him to be the most cleanest Champion there is. He's been on both sides.he hated to be Stardust,so one dimensional and gimmicky. Even since he's been back he's had feuds where the lines have been blurred. Look at his feud with Brock as just 1 example.Backstage brawls, weapons, random attacks. Nobody ever thought during any of those feuds"Cody shouldn't be doing this as a face" Cody has shown that he will stoop to their level and sometimes it is about working smarter, not harder. So Kevin can do whatever he wants huh?Look what he did. This story is about not holding back and kevin a lesson. its about destroying the metaphorical lines between being a good guy and bad guy.Kevin broke his mentors neck, and was hell bent on hurting Cody and this was well known going into that match. Then during the match Kevin goes for a stunner,Cody reverses it and goes for a Crossroads,Kevin reverses it clearly looks forward to see the ref in front of them and shoves Cody right into him before getting cody with another stunner and getting the 8 count with no ref. So no,Kevin shouldn't have won the match. Kevin again fails to cheat and trys to bring in a chair. At that point one thing is clear if your cody.if I don't put him down now he's either going to cheat or injure me i'm pulling the trigger

I think they forgot what KO has done. You want your face to show anger and fire, I thought. He said he wanted to fight and hurt KO.
Don is a WWE STAN.Mark sounds like a rere. Only voice or opinion that’s worthwhile are Bully and Tommy. Denise might be more neutral
Im pretty sure KO has used that Package Piledriver move before in WWE.
Cody is giving off ‘91-‘92 Hogan vibes right now. The boos and fan fatigue are starting to set in.
Dave makes everything so intolerable at times with his love fest for Cody.
I feel like a kid again watching SNME it was a little bit a drag but it was fun
Great fantasy booking at the end, if Hunter can still take it, it would be the best way to raise Kevin's stocks and heat.
They should use Jesse on commentary the whole show, that would be one of the best things wwe could do.
The deliberate crossrhodes on the chair, in my opinion is to start the slow downfall of the uber baby face.
It was to appeal to a new NBC audience. WWE never do those matches except PLE'S
Jesse was better than anyone they have currently #bringbackthebody
KO gonna walk around with the Winged Eagle title like he the champ.
I think that will help keep the heat off of Cody.
40 years I'm nearly sure Venture was the guest general manger of raw In 2009
Bully is so cringe, like bro you really ain’t that smart 😂😂😂
SNL, like RAW and SD, has some good bits and bad ones. Its not awful
Cody said he was going to do anything possible to beat him because of what he did to Randy
