    Its very hard for a pony to judge the height of a jump over 50cm, I would recommend using a ground pole, which will help the ponies a lot.

    I get if "No ground polls allowed" But fillers or extra poles is, it would be wiser if next time after 3ft they add another pole a few holes down, just so there's no accident's and all horses have more confidence and yes I know the point of the game is to test both horse and riders abilities but i feel that's only implied for a certain level of riders/horses. Judging just by this videos, a few riders haven't seemed to jumped over 3ft? (no hate everyone did so good!) so for safety reasons it would be less dangerous if you added just a second poll under the first. Or maybe replace the pole with a plank or gate? (loop holes ahaha!)

    • @itch607

    • @sea-fieldpony.4556
      @sea-fieldpony.4556 Рік тому +2

      Yea I agree, I’m not trying to be mean but I found a lot wrong with this.. as in no ground pole and also where they are jumping, as in there isn’t a great line to ride to the jump considering these riders aren’t extremely experienced. Also having people right next to the jump. Especially a child, that is dangerous

    I'll tell you a little story....
    The quick horse with the blue, is called Bert! Now Bert used to drive a cart and was trotted on the road at a young age. Bert was also crashed broken. He didn't have any idea on the idea of slow, so when I started to ride him we would work on slow. And each time we got better and better. He also has a passion to jump, of which he gets so excited we have to do reverse psychology, we work with him, and just guide him. As you can tell this is hard, and he does go too fast. But he loves it! And when I was out it wasn't his fault, I messed up the prep so we tried again. Plus, he isn't an appoloosa, he's a knabstrapper x

    I was doing Chase me Charlie and my instructor started off with a cross pole jump and then she gave us a straight with a pole underneath which didn't make the horses refuse. My horse Lucy refused 2 times because it was too high for her (80 cm). Starting off with a pole under the jump would be much better :I Rather than just a jump without the lower pole (I don't even know if that made sense)

    the reason why half of the ponies knocked down the pole because the horses were going too fast they went flat. get them into a bouncy canter and not a flat out gallop the horses will jump much better. also, it would be nicer for the horses and riders if the riders were the right size for thehorse

      No, its because there is a MASSIVE gap between the ground and the pole. They should AT LEAST put a pole on the ground under the other pole. The horses cant see the top pole if they're quite small, and have to lift their heads. Their speed was fine, but i think that these stables doesn't seem like a good stables to be. The instructor doesn't seem very nice... I mean honestly, if the jump was like the height of the final jump, to some of the smaller ones, you can see their eye level is literally level with the pole, and to them its just cantering through two jump stands, but when they get closer... OH GOD THERES A POLE THERE I HAVE TO JUMP IT HELP IM NOT READY FOR THIS. See? (This is not only directed at you, at some other commenters.

      Standard arena for dressage should be 20 x 40, but if you plan to fit in a course of jumps (and depending on the amount of funds you have available) then it is better to go 40 x 40 and just corner off a section for flat work if need be.

    Ich finde die Ponys sind ein wenig zu kleine ( also der Tinker nicht , ich denke ihr wisst was ich meine ) . Das ist alleine meine Meinung , ich würde es nicht machen , aber wenn eure Ponys das schaffen , alles gut 😊 . Aber wenn ihr mit den Ponys generell mit den Pös springt das zieht Ihnen doch wenigstens Bandagen oder Gamaschen an ? Ihr seht doch wie oft die Pös an die Stangen knallen , Schutz wäre da schon angebracht . Außerdem würde ich den Ponys ein wenig Zeit vor dem Sprung geben . Ihr lasst die Pferde stehen , trabt sie an und galoppiert dann paar Sprünge und dann müssen die schon springen . Ich würde ihnen Zeit lassen , also mehr Anlauf ☺️ . An sich hat es mir aber doch gut gefallen , weil ihr sie auch lobt und alle einen guten Sitz haben . Und ja ich weiß die Hälfte hier kann mich nicht verstehen weil ich deutsch spreche , aber vllt sind hier paar aus Deutschland und sind auch meiner Meinung ♥️😊

      This is super risky... and can harm horses and riders... in my barn we used to do it just like that until my friend fell off cuz her horse could not jadge hight and distance...
      Even if that is the challenge that doesn't mean you should do it that way... it is for the safty of the horses, the riders and everyone else...

    That girl needs to get off her phone and pay attention. She almost got run over and she’s always running to go put the jump up. I also think it would’ve been safer to add a ground pole in front of the jump and another pole under the pole they already had on there.

    • @Starandhope
      @Starandhope 5 років тому

      Even if this is how the game is played that doesn't mean it is the way to go about it..
      At my barn we used to play "Chase me Charlie" without a ground pole...
      One day my friend got seriously hurt cuz her horse fell due to him not being able to jadge hight and distance...
      Ever since then we used groung poles and we never had one accident....
      Even though it is not the original way this game is played... it is the safest way to go about it...
      Always go for whatever is safe so you won't be sorry for not being safe...
      Not only it is dangerous for the riders it is also really dangerous for the horses...
      Horses can fall, break their legs, neck and can have back damage from falling the wrong way...
      Always go safe, so u won't be sorry...
