£1.75 for 350g is not bad at all in my book. Far better than paying a lot more for a 240g meal including the rice. I imagine a lot of people like me have packets of 2 minute rice in the larder. Sure it was a bit watery, but it would be a good mix with the rice. This would be a perfect movie night snack, or for someone living on their own and on a budget. Gareth, you didn't say if there were other flavoured curries in this range. If there are? They would make a good freezer item to stock up on. For those who do find it too runny? You could always thicken it up with a bit of cornstarch. Me personally like it a bit runny. A really good find mate and worth reviewing. I don't think you will find much to equal it in value. You also found it quite tasty, so another point on the plus side. 😋😋.
Going "off piste" a little here. Next week Lidl are doing a 9 in 1 air fryer oven for £99.99. I'm going to check it out and see if it's worth it. It cooks up to 12.5ltr, which is plenty for me. So OK, it's not top of the range like a Ninja, but I'm a pensioner on a budget, so it's within my price range.
Happy hunting for your future reviews and comparison's 👍👍.

We like to make large batches of sauces portion it and freeze it as that is what normally takes the most time and energy to make. You can freeze them in icecube trays and then put those in a ziploc back [ i would recommend double bagging for those with strong flavours] or use sealable deli tubs. Having sauces/gravies on hand is great to make quick meals with leftovers, or just poaching the protien in the sauce till cooked. We find that the sauces taste better if you leave them in the fridge overnight before freezing, like stews taste better the next day. That frozen meal was designed to be eaten with rice that would soak up the sauce or you can sop it up with naan bread, we like to use those partbaked batons with a tab of garlic herb butter to mop up the sauce. Take care, God bless one and all.

For your viewers that like an Indian curry I’d recommend Patak’s curry paste pot’s Lidl were selling them at 99p but I think they’re normally £1.50 maybe £1.75 for a two pot pack. You need to add a few ingredients 1/2 tin of tomatoes some onion, little bit of garlic&ginger ( I use the purée’s from sqeezy pack’s because they keep for a good amount of time) and some lamb or chicken. They’re a very easy fairly fast option to cook a reasonable Indian curry at home.

Use these Pataks regular. I still add a few chilli flakes and fresh chillies if I have any in. Onions, garlic, ginger, these two I use the frozen cubes at Asda 85p a bag, but Aldi minced lamb, its better and cheaper and Cucina chopped tomatoes from Aldi too. Your right its makes a pretty fair curry and you can tweak it to taste, I like plenty of garlic and a nice med/hot.

Recently Gareth, I've been going to a Lidl close to where I'm working at the moment. And in the mornings they have reduced price items and some of them are fantastic.
I got a Mexican three bean fajita 60% reduced and it was "use by" that day.
And frankly, it's fantastic. It's actually really good occasionally to do a vegetarian. I enjoy it. The beans are terrific and there's a creamy sauce in there that just makes it.
And it's really filling and you can tell it's got fibre that you need, in it. It's just good for you and good tasting.
Why not do some vids on healthy alternatives?
Just a bit of a difference?
Everybody wants to eat good healthy food. And there's nothing wrong with reduced price stuff. You get a chance to try something a bit different!

There are no nasties in there like preservatives because Cinnamon and its compounds effectively hinder bacterial and fungal growth. So a natural preservative. Used mainly in frozen food as it would not extend the shelf life enough length of time that supermarkets demand for fresh food.

Gareth, where can you get decent peaches? Not the sour, unripe crap from supermarkets.
I mean those big, ripe, juicy ones that the juice runs down your chops when you bite them? And they are not gobstoppers? They are REAL peaches? Where do you get THOSE?

Some rice and a naan bread right enough looks as if it would be perfect with that.

Not too bad carb wise but why add sugar to everything? Might try one.

I thought it was just like a tomotoe curry and nothing like a Madras although it was nice enough for the money as you said.

Cheap chicken from Thailand most likely - I only buy meals that have British chicken - Sainsburys, Co-op, Tesco finest, Waitrose ... well they claim they do (!) ... prob more likely it isn't rubbish

You should try the chicken tikka masala one. Also the korma isn't bad too but the masala is the best.

Sauce looks like it's been thickened to a goop with a lot of starch. Might be okay over rice.

You don't need to curry flavour with this, maybe extra chicken with some rice and naan or even a jacket potato xx

I like Home Bargains , for full value, however I don’t like that kind of slippery chicken , it makes me feel sick. At One Stop which is Tesco , I often buy a Sweet and Sour chicken with rice. You only get 3 - 4 chicken pieces in Batter , but it’s quality , and I would rather have a little amount of quality , than a lot of slippery chicken . So tyvm for that review I will give it a miss .
