Don’t forget to do the check where you let your phone go into Auto Lock after a set time (like 1 or 2 minutes) so you can be sure the Solar Eclipse Timer app can notify you from that state. I also added that app as an allowed notification when my Do Not Disturb setting is on (as it will be as totality approaches on April 8th!). VERY IMPORTANT: Do NOT use the same device running the app as a camera simultaneously. (Use another camera. Dedicate your phone just to the app then.)
I downloaded the app today and then came across your video this evening. I'm also going to be in Arkansas. I'm going to one of my cousin's house the Sunday before. I'm on night shift that weekend but I'm taking off Sunday night. I'll have to take a nap Sunday morning when I get home from work before traveling. My cousin lives near Atkins between Morrilton and Russellville. He's within 10 miles of the center. There's a lot of other places I'd rather go for it but I want to have access to food and a bathroom. Plus I won't have to be in a public place with thousands of people. So you have to have crop phone service for the app to work during the count down stage? I was thinking about bringing my old phone. I have a hot spot on my phone and I think my cousin has internet at his house.
