    I totally agree with keeping your picks. The nfc north is brutal and it's going to stsy that way. To compete with them, the Bears need to be improving every single year. Do NOT go all in and become the Rams. The hardest work is done. We have a real qb. The best prospect in the north. Protect him.

    Agreed, the only trades we should be making is to ACQUIRE draft picks. Herbert is probably walking after the season and we're cutting Davis- Let's get a couple of draft picks for them before the trade deadline.

    Finally someone with some sense. I’ve been saying the same thing, this team is not there yet to make a trade like that & honestly their best bet this season is probably to stand pat unless they can get something for Herbert or Davis and see how thr online market shakes out on the off season between the draft & free agency.

      you can give up a first next year and a 2nd in 2026 and still have plenty of picks to draft oline.

    Take the swing if you can score Crosby or Garrett for a 1st and later rd pick , do it. You will not get similar instant quality in a top 20 pick. This is when you go for it while Caleb and Rome are in their rookie contracts.

    Finally some voices of reason in the haze of crazy draft speculation. I think people started to believe that the QB pick was some indication that the Bears were ready instead of what it really was, a prime opportunity to steal the best QB in the draft with the first pick. If we are being honest though, the QB came a year early, which isn't a big deal, as long as it's recognized that the team was going into this season with question marks on both lines. Dline has held up pretty well and the oline has been inconsistent, but getting better. I think they still can use upgrades in the trenches in the offseason though.
    If they want a Maxx Crosby, draft and develop one.

  • @240sx1992nissan
    @240sx1992nissan День тому

    If a trade is made it needs to be the oline. The def is fine. You can find another edge in the draft if you feel you really need one. Only way I’d make a trade for def it’d have to be like a 2nd for a significant upgrade over the opposite side to sweat.

    I kinda agree. Don’t jump the shark here. The Bears OL is still not good. Need a legit C and prolly time to fix the LT. I like Braxton, but you can’t leave him alone with upper tier pass rushers. And even some mid level pass rushers. And he doesn’t “maul” in the run game.
    Shelton has played better, but he’s been pancaked by LINEBACKERS. Can’t have that.

    If you’re still thinking “big moves” the next few years are the time to do it. As long as Caleb is under his rookie deal you have the flexibility to spend big. If Williams becomes what we think he will be, dude is going to get paid in four seasons and eat up a huge chunk of your cap.

  • @shake6321
    @shake6321 День тому

    i could disagree more. if you do the basic math you trade for crosby or garrett. here’s why.
    the bears have 7 top 90 picks in the next 2 years but they don’t have 7 holes to fill.
    the bears need:
    DE, Wr, C, left tackle.
    that’s 4 players.
    if you trade a first and 2nd for max/myles you still have 5 picks and you’ll only have 3 main holes.
    who are you saving these extra picks for? and that’s not to mention all your 4-7 round picks where poles and co have found rojo, sandborn, bagent, terrell smith, austin booker, braxton.
    trading caleb for a haul never made sense cuz the bears didn’t need picks. they needed players. same thing now.

      So you want to waste 2+ years of Caleb’s rookie contract makes sense. I’m so glad y’all fans aren’t the GM it would be malpractice to put more than 1 rookie on the OL to protect your franchise QB. Fuck the picks go get a premium edge and complete that defense then in FA go sign a LT, C and a LG and then draft a RG then the rest of the draft you draft best player available. It takes years to build a OL through the draft Bears don’t have years to waste so you buy your OL now draft a RG then draft depth pieces to develop behind your starters so you can swap them out when you have to pay Caleb in 3 maybe 4 years.

  • @saychicity5409

    The Bears are not using the top 3 picks all on Oline, if you can trade a 1 and a later round or 26 pick for a Myles Garrett type, you do it.
    Trading for Myles Garrett/Crosby is more realistic than them trading Kennan Allen. That makes you the best defense in the NFL.
    Also Myles Garrett is more likely to be traded than the Bears trading Kennan Allen…

    Poles should be focusing on Myles Garrett if he is looking to push his defense into elite territory. Cleveland is a dumpster fire right now and they need cap relief AND future draft capital. We Bears were there at the end of Pace's tenure. Myles Garrett could be the Browns version of getting rid of Khalil Mack.

    This fanbase doesn’t want to win or understand that this is at most a 3 1/2 year window to go completely all in with a rookie QB. Anyone who says draft OL heavy is literally the dumbest person ever you don’t put 4 dam rookies on the OL to protect your franchise QB and expect to win or go far next year you need proven vets. Screw the picks go trade for a premium edge to complete that defense then in FA go sign a LT, C & LG then in the draft get a RG then in the rest of the draft go best player available or depth at OL to develop behind your win now OL so you can replace them when Caleb is due an extension and do that every year like the Patriots did and like the Chiefs do now. It takes years to build an OL through the draft Bears don’t have years to waste. I hate this mindset of hoarding picks just because there is no guarantee any of the players they draft pan out and now you just wasted another season of Caleb’s rookie contract. When you have your QB on a rookie contract like Caleb draft picks don’t matter anymore you found your guy now what matters is proven guys already in the NFL to go and try to win a Super Bowl when you start worrying about the draft picks again is when you pay Caleb because you need to supplement that high end proven vets with younger talent and if done right you do it like the Patriots and Cheifs did/do which is you have to hit on your later round picks and you create a “farm system” in the background while you are going all in.
