If you think about it, if Kirby would be added to the game, it would make sense if one of the tracks is gourmet race and also in fact, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and Birdo already appeared in a Kirby Game, Kirby superstar
Of note that even though we're technically getting "new" tracks, they're all made with tour in mind first, meaning that calling them old tracks isn't technically incorrect, just timing is funky. And as far as characters go, it's just a simple upping of the scope of the project. I highly doubt with only half a wave left they're likely to suddenly change their mind and with how rarely tour is adding new characters these days I don't see many, if any, curveballs being thrown at this point in time in terms of cross promotion
I guess technically all the Tour tracks can also be considered “new” tracks, because they were all originally debuted after 8 Deluxe released, meaning they’re newer than the actual MK8D “new” courses
I agree however, it shouldn’t be too hard for the dev team for mariokart tour to push the tours containing the new tracks to come out before or at least with the tracks in Mario kart 8
@@bradmcgowan5453 They usually do is the thing, even Yoshi's Island is gonna be within 2 weeks from now at the latest most likely They have a pretty fixed schedule for when and how they time events they have to adhere to, vs MK8DX being able to release plausibly whenever the courses are ready, so sometimes there's a slight delay in a track releasing for tour vs its console counterpart, but only very slight. PPC releasing way ahead of schedule in tour also shows we'll likely have one or two of the final nitro tracks before they ever hit 8DX

So… we all know the answer is ROB if a guest character was to be added. Assuming that they stick to it being returning characters, our only options are Rob and Pac man (and the Arcade games clearly aren’t Mainline according to Nintendo so ROB is our only choice). Any other guest character for 8 deluxe is wishful thinking. However I can see some characters like Zelda and Kirby sneaking into MK9 to fill out the guest characters
in regards to Samus being a possible character from Nintendo's own library of franchises it would be more practical in my opinion for Zero Suit Samus being the version of her added to the roster since she does have access to both hands to grab the wheel in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I really hope they had Captain Falcon. I feel bad for him not having a racing games in years, I think he deserves to come back and finally race once again.
Unfortunately, if that were the case, then the only one I can think of is R.O.B., since aside from the ones already in MK8 Deluxe, he's the only guest character that has appeared in the main series.
An idea i had was a Tears of The Kingdom link alt this to me is a 10/10 option, they gave him a BOTW alt for promotion so a TOTK alt doesnt sound to farfetched.

I don't even know if you're paying attention to the Booster Course Pack Trailers but between that and the official sites of different regions for Nintendo/Mario Kart they don't really agaknowlaged them as main Mario Kart games. I'm sure Pac-Man isn't impossible with Namco on board and the Mii having a costume based on the franchise but will see if they surprise us with that.
I agree since the whole point of adding RETURNING characters is to add ONLY characters who appeared playable BEFORE MK8 happened and i still dont count Tour as a past game since despite it debut in 2019 since its the NEWEST game released anyways.
The characters i really wanna see the most are Funky Kong, Pauline, Nabbit, and Kirby. I feel like Funky Kong is almost guaranteed because he would be a returning character and Nabbit is from tour so him too. Pauline and Kirby just fit this game, but mostly Kirby and I think he's gonna be the new character if theres any at all. Pikachu just shouldn't get in because why Pokemon of all game franchises do they have to take from. There's no way Sonic is getting in the game, the dude already has his own racing game, it just wouldnt work. Pac-Man is a character I think should just stay in the arcade game, the arcade game is still going strong were I'm at and i think he should just be one of those special characters you have to play that certain game to see him.

Character-wise, I think Sonic would be amazing since we had Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for many years and then we had Yoshi’s Island as a level in Sonic Lost World. Also there happens to be several gaming mods where Sonic takes a journey through the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario gets transported to Green Hill Zone and stuff like that, so there could be a decent chance that Sonic could make an appearance.

I’d have in my opinion olimar added since we could have 2 new karts and a bike. Olimar would be a very light class and the karts would be the s.s dolphin from the original game and the ship from pikmin 2. The bike would be named the bulbike. The gliders would be the onion and a wollywog since wollywogs would jump very high to kill pikmin. OR it would be a jelly float from pikmin 2.

You see, when Birdo was added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, her Pipe Frame had a color scheme that was NEVER used by any other racer. Birdo drove a Hot Pink Pipe Frame just like Wendy O. Koopa; but it lacked the additional special colors for the joints & exhaust pipe that Wendy & the Koopalings' Pipe Frames had, resulting in Birdo's Pupe Frame to have normal joint & exhaust pipe colors. Birdo's Hot Pink Pipe Frame is also a stark contrast to the Magenta Pipe Frame that Birdo drove in Mario Kart Tour. And that got me thinking... Maybe the Koopalings' Pipe Frames, with the exception of Larry's which is yellow - an already used color, could give us clues to what characters we may have added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. For example, with Roy Koopa's Pipe Frame being Magenta, then the likeliest character to have a Magenta Pipe frame as well would be Pauline, at least in my opinion. Of course, the Pipe Frame Colors may not always be a guaranteed clue, as I don't think Diddy Kong or Petey Pirahna would drive Pipe Frames in colors the same colors as the Koopaling's Pipe Frames (Iggy's Pipe Frame is too bright of a shade of green for Petey; and none of the other Koopaling Pipe Frame colors would suit Diddy as much as the Orange Pipe Frame he drove in Tour). But still, I thought it'd be something you might find interesting & touch upon it in a new video if you want.

Birdo drove a Hot Pink Pipe Frame just like Wendy O. Koopa; but it lacked the additional special colors for the joints & exhaust pipe that Wendy & the Koopalings' Pipe Frames had, resulting in Birdo's Pupe Frame to have normal joint & exhaust pipe colors.
Birdo's Hot Pink Pipe Frame is also a stark contrast to the Magenta Pipe Frame that Birdo drove in Mario Kart Tour.
And that got me thinking... Maybe the Koopalings' Pipe Frames, with the exception of Larry's which is yellow - an already used color, could give us clues to what characters we may have added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
For example, with Roy Koopa's Pipe Frame being Magenta, then the likeliest character to have a Magenta Pipe frame as well would be Pauline, at least in my opinion.
Of course, the Pipe Frame Colors may not always be a guaranteed clue, as I don't think Diddy Kong or Petey Pirahna would drive Pipe Frames in colors the same colors as the Koopaling's Pipe Frames (Iggy's Pipe Frame is too bright of a shade of green for Petey; and none of the other Koopaling Pipe Frame colors would suit Diddy as much as the Orange Pipe Frame he drove in Tour).
But still, I thought it'd be something you might find interesting & touch upon it in a new video if you want.
I would love to see Kirby in the game but, rather unlikely Nintendo will most likely expand within the Mario universe but it Nintendo they’ll probably somehow add sonic or some sh-
