Wildlife Photography in the wilds of Alaska. The most unique family of Foxes I've ever photographed!

- Each year, I spend a generous amount of time looking for and photographing wildlife all over Alaska. In the past my Alaska adventures start off by spending time with Alaskan Brown Bears, Ptarmigan and the occasional Wolf. This year I thought I'd start things off a little earlier by searching for Red Foxes and other wildlife on Alaska's tundra. As I searched, I saw countless Bald Eagles, Lapland Longspurs and other birds flying nearby. Continuing my search, I finally came across some signs of recent Fox activity and even saw one off in the distance. Eventually, I was able to find not one fox, but 7. A whole den of Foxes, perhaps the most unique Fox den I've ever seen or photographed. I won't spoil the whole adventure for you, follow along and see this incredible Fox family for yourself!

Another awesome adventure, Jimmy. Loved the foxes. Looking forward to more. Enjoy.
Thank you Terry, always appreciated! The Foxes are always a favorite of mine to share here, they're just so personable and fun 😊
What an incredible adventure and a super video. Some great footage and images of the Foxes. I hope your workshop goes great for you and thanks for sharing this great adventure!!
Thank you Keith! It was quite the adventure and I already can't wait to get back out there! I hope your spring and summer have been eventful thus far and hope you have some fun plans for the coming months.
Great to see you back in your favorite haunts, Jimmy. Great photography and presentation.
Thank you very much, I always appreciate your kindness and support!
Spectacular video, Jimmy! What an amazing find!
Thank you very much, sure appreciate it!
Incredible filming ❤❤❤❤❤
Good luck with the workshops, the participants are lucky to be on it! Love the foxes and what a treat to see the lapland longspur in breeding plumage! I got to see one during the winter in northern New England and it made me wonder what they looked like when they got back to the Arctic! Love the broll and scenery mixed in as always to give a sense of place. That's awesome there is a place to stay out there too. Safe travels!
Thanks so much John! It really is an amazing area, it's always a fun terrain to explore. The Lapland Longspur was definitely a highlight of the trip and a species I'd really like to focus on more in the future. They just look so neat and I usually don't get to see them otherwise.
Thanks for sharing and such a world of information.
Thank you so much for watching, I always appreciate it!
Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks so much for watching 😊
A beautiful adventure, I enjoy watching your videos, thank you.
Regards
Thanks so much, I'm glad to hear it!
Great video Jimmy, I best love the silver foxes out of the 3 variations.
Thank you very much! Yeah, the Silver Foxes are probably my personal favorite as well. Although, I'll take any Fox at any time!
Beautiful video and photos!! Thanks Jimmy for sharing all these beauty of your land!
Thank you my friend! I hope you're doing well and getting some fun images this spring and summer.
@@JimmyBreitenstein Not so much, it's too hot in these days, so just a little relax. Thanks.
Nice to see another video from you. I never knew there was a silver variation of the red fox - i think it exists only in the Americas (?). Thanks for sharing this wonderful day.
Thank you Ott, always appreciate your support! The Silver variation is definitely harder to find than the others. I've heard of them in Russia, not sure what other areas they're found in throughout the world. That's something I'd like to research sometime.
I wondered if your absence the last week or two meant you were in the field in Alaska. Gorgeous foxes, you truly have a gift for finding them. I finally had one show up on the trail camera, I think it was a young one! Looking forward to more from Alaska and when you get a chance, I just started releasing a series on the Red-Tailed Hawks nest. Alaska looks so fun and amazing!
Thanks so much, Julie! They're always tricky to find, but I definitely enjoy the process and the challenge 😊 That's exciting that you got one on the trail camera, from here you can start to establish those patterns and hopefully start to see them more. I'm really excited to see your Hawk family adventures this year, always fun to see and hear about them! Have a splendid week.
Fascinating to see such a variety of colour variations at one den.
Although, here in Wales , I have seen different shades of red, some with white tips to the tail and others without I have only ever seen one black variant. It wasn't completely black but certainly from a distance it gave the appearance of being black. That was more years ago than I care to remember. Beautiful images as always and I particularly liked the distant shot of the fox on the ridge line
Best wishes.
Thank you very much, Robert. I definitely see more red variants than all the others combined. In my immediate area, it's very rare to see anything but red. I always appreciate and enjoy your feedback and hearing about your experiences in nature, have a wonderful week!
Beautiful creatures!! God is good. I miss your face friend!!
I couldn't agree more, miss you too and hope you and the family are doing well!
Great video 🍺✨️💥
Thanks a bunch!
Great video! Are you in Alaska until the end of your bear work shops?
Thanks Richard! No, I'm back home with the family now, but will head out again for my bear adventures soon 😁
