Are the prices going up to $200,000 for the donation? With this being the case, would you say the real estate option is the better of the two? Also - if me and my spouse were to invest in real estate ($400,000 minimum) - would we be able to live in this property ourselves for the 5 years until it’s clear for us to sell and move elsewhere (if we wanted to). Property options in the Caribbean need to be government-approved, so not just any property will qualify (and in most cases these are hotels).
