    Thank you! This video helped me immensely diagnosing the issue with my ML280cdi no warnings crank no start was advised to do glow plugs then fuel filter I had enough watched your video and this was the exact issue! Was about to throw parts at it. I’m no mechanic but this really confused me. Glad to have salvaged my ML! Thanks a million!

      All these years I thought I never had a Brother.., till now.
      UK, ML280 06.., giving me the biggest Nightmare for 7 straight months. Crank-No-Start.
      Purchased:
      Crankshaft sensor.
      Camshaft sensor.
      6 Glow plugs.
      O-Rings.
      Vice.
      Mini Diamond Cutting Disc.
      Torque wrench.
      Hold-Down Bolts x
      Line hoses.
      7PC Professional Diesel Injector Seat Cutter.
      Hours, upon hrs, upon hrs, upon days, upon days, upon months.
      Started the other day, then stopped. Pressure!
      I believe I'm there now and will re-install the last offending injector tmw, 8/11/23.
      🤞

    My 09 ml320 bluetec starts but runs rough for first few minutes each morning, sligtly blue smoke as well and fumes smell horrible, no Black Death though, runs normally once warmed up, although hesitant acceleration during low rpms as if fuel not distributed properly, this video gives some insight to test for bad injectors, thanks a lot

    Great video. The shop I took mine to had nuts they screwed into the injector delivery pipes, your way looks quicker and easier.

      THANKS VERY MUCH. I try to keep my diagnostics very simple - yet comprehensive at same time. And LESS tools = better, lol. (I always try to make it possible for a homeowner to do, not just a professional at a shop) I get a lot of German cars by referral at my shop because I'm fast and accurate. However, it took me 30+ yrs to reach this level of efficiency. All the good youtube mechanics earn their keep with 20+ yrs experience. Thx again for your kind words. Much appreciated!

    Very helpful! My engine just started cranking longer but still starts fine. If I put it in ignition 2 for a few seconds and then start, the cranking is short and crisp! Does this sound like Black Death or fuel system related?

    • @AutomotiveEZ
      @AutomotiveEZ  2 роки тому

      That could possibly be the low pressure in tank pump or even the glow plug circuit. Best to have a mechanic look it over whom specializes in diesel. Thx

      I am trying to duplicate your test. Once it’s cranking, there is a constant stream of diesel coming out of the diesel return connections - the openings on the lines, not the injectors. Is this normal for bluetec?

      @AutomotiveEZ  2 роки тому

      @@wzbhnn Hello there. Just try to follow the video. If you remove the “oil leak line” - which is the return line - remove it from EVERY INJECTOR at same time. Have a towel to catch extra fluid during disconnect. AFTERWARDS - crank it and observe the return nipple on every injector. Excessive flow on any injector - is a FAULTY INJECTOR. Get a friend to crank it so you can observe under hood. Good luck

      Thank you for the fast reply. Yes I did remove them from all 6 injectors and had two lines hanging around. I started cranking, but diesel was streaming out from the 6 holes on the 2 lines. I had to stop cranking before the diesel smell up the whole garage.

    • @AutomotiveEZ
      @AutomotiveEZ  2 роки тому

      @@wzbhnn welcome. Fuel should not pour from line. The return line is low pressure and returns fuel to tank. When you first disconnect the line some diesel will spill out. Look at nipples on injectors only at first. See how many are bad. The return line must be totally off of every injector so no bad injector pressurizes it

    hello. i have a 2014 ml350 bluetec. i have a 02d1 and a p02d5 code on it. do i need to change the injector??

    • @AutomotiveEZ
      @AutomotiveEZ  Рік тому

      You should just test for the overflow to see if injector has internal leak before anything

    By the way, I hv the same vehicle, 2008 R350 Benz "Code P0300 & engine light flashing, rough idle, no power while driving. I replaced spark plugs & coils but still same issues. Black death visually can be seen on & around engine. (I'm assuming INJECTORS?) Is there a way to put a solution in the gas tank as a start to see if it is the injectors? Thanks

    • @AutomotiveEZ
      @AutomotiveEZ  2 роки тому

      Hello there. If you see the black carbon coating up top all the injector washers should be replaced. But in a high mileage engine I’d just replace every injector and they generally come with the compression washers - you should NOT have black soot on top of engine

    Wet injector is bad???

    • @AutomotiveEZ
      @AutomotiveEZ  Рік тому +1

      The Injectors that puddle and / or leak - out at top of leak line are bad
