    What would you think its ability to detect heat behind Sheetrock. I need something to see beehives inside walls. They give off a good deal of heat.

      I saw somebody on line using this for detecting hives in walls however my home has older plaster and something walls with mesh and neither of my thermal cameras can see through my walls in my home.
      I do know it does not see through glass very well at all, and there are different thermal camera technologies. If you're going to use it for that specifically , for your job you may want to do more research.

      Potentially, as activity generates heat. Id spend a little more if you are planning on seeing through walls though.

    Would it help find mice behind a wall?
    Also, does it work as a night vision device?

    • @evox786
      @evox786 Рік тому +1

      No, it won't find mice behind a wall unless maybe if their nest is right up against the wall and there's several mice in it. But most likely not. They will help you see at night, but are distinctly different from night vision. For one, thermals cannot see through windows. There are plenty of videos comparing the two.

    • @JericHouse

      no. Not unless your walls are really thin. I can't see through glass well so you can see somebody through a window that it can't see.

    i dont like that super low resolution. i bought the t2 pro and it works one things far away and close. i can always tell what i am looking at and its smooth. cost $450 to 500 but its not as durable.

    The sensor resolution is 32 x 32.
    Frame rate is 9 Hz.
    NETD: 150 mK
    Those specs are about as low as you can get, but it's still cool to see this technology slowly becoming more available to the common consumer. A NETD of 150 mK means it will be able to detect a 0.27°F difference in temperature.

      New 2nd generation Rx-350 from China has 160x120 - so twice, (or arguably if you multiply it, 18.75x) greater resolution,
      (avoid original generation rx350's) and now less than 50mk - and is ~$149 shipped to your door.
      That's how fast this aspect of the industry is moving. This camera that he reviews is 3+ year old technology.

    • @evox786
      @evox786 Рік тому +3

      @@iadr I just checked that out on aliexpress. The display screen is 160x120, while the sensor resolution is only 80x60. Not great, but better than the harbor freight one and still really good for the price! Sensor resolution is mostly what determines how much detail can be seen. Every thermal camera that I'm aware of will have a higher display resolution than sensor resolution. Combined with it's visible light image overlay, it should give you a usable picture.

    • @JericHouse
      @JericHouse 7 місяців тому +2

      No, it does not give good enough resolution to see which component on a PCB is getting hot. It just kind of gets you down. really close to that component.
      I recommend the P2Pro same price range and comes with macro lense. Check out reviews on both and compare resolution. Drastic detail difference. The P2 sensor is susceptible to damage by intense heat sources so I have this Harbor Freight unit that I use on the regular for all kinds of things.
      The Harbor Freight camera works great on home wiring and older Electronics like tube amps and such but modern microelectronics it does nothing for. I still appreciate my Harbor Freight unit and use it often.

    Would it take pictures of footprints outside at night after you've been there like tracking somebody

    • @forgottenrights351
      @forgottenrights351 Рік тому

      I rented one from my school, and you can't see footprints with regular shoes. You can briefly see footprints on wood floors if someone walks barefoot or with socks. For tracking, you'll want an object he or she was touching for a minute or so, otherwise it will fade completely in a few minutes. Interestingly, you can't see through windows. The glass acts as a mirror, so you just see yourself if you try to look through.
