KD started trusting Edwards and the rookie rewarded his captain by knocking down the three pointers and injecting some big life into the Clays fans. And then the Olympian Australian Stallion Patty Mills took over and knocked down some major three pointers that brought the Brooklyn fans into their feet. Patty did more then just bring that JUICE into the fourth quarter and in the last 20 seconds the nets were playing hot potato until Blake found patty who faked out an opposing raptor and knocked down the best three pointer of the night to send the nets to a huge overtime match up. In the fourth KD and Patty took over and hit some big two pointers to jolt the fans up. Blake Griffin nearly dove for an interception but was out of bounds. And that moment fired Coach Nash and the nets up to finish this game. And with the final minutes left, David Duke who jump started this team in the fourth quarter, caught some huge rebounds and had multiple players on him. But the rookie did not relent and held onto the ball and got foul calls until he went to the line and hit some major free throws. Then patty Mills got fouled and hit one free throw before missing the second and the nets crowded rookie sensation Scottie Barnes who chucked the ball and almost hit the three pointer. But it went off and the Nets could finally breathe as they won arguably the game of the season. Kevin Durant let out some big expletives and celebrated with his Australian brother Patty as they led the unimaginable comeback and EARNED win number 20 of the season. So yes. This night will be remembered for Stephen curry passing Ray Allen. But more importantly, this night will be remembered as the comeback of the century as a depleted nets team led by Kevin Durant on a bum ankle led the charge with half a team compromising rookies and proved once again why he is the undisputed MVP of the 21st century.

KD especially hit a triple double which showed just how much of an underrated playmaker he can be which is ironic because he's anything but underated. DeRon Sharpe especially brought hustle rebounding and put some shots in. Edwards though was standout out of the night being ready to get his shots in and had a legit spring in his movements. And Cam Thomas led the rookies by getting them shot opportunities and got a few of his shots in and the rookies for a eight point lead before KD came back and the nets finished the half up strong with a ten point lead. But the third quarter was a nightmare where the nets looked gassed, left Gary and Freddy open to hit big three pointer shots, KD nearly hurt his injured ankle again and Chris Boucher was dunking defending and running his mouth and Brooklyn was down eleven going into the fourth and for the last three fourth quarters Brooklyn defense was elite. But could a depleted nets team with the only two starters KD and Patty lead the rookies to a fourth quarter comeback????? This goes back to the theme of the day which is: The Nets are down. And then the biggest threat to Brooklyn came in the form of COVID-19 protocols and Paul Millsap was the first casualty. Then in the afternoon before I could scarf down a ham and cheese sandwich, DeAndre bembrey James Johnson Jevon Carter and Lamarcus Aldridge who came out of retirement due to a irregular heartbeat were put in protocols as well. Fast forward to 7:00 pm and a BIG blow came to Brooklyn in the form of Bruce Brown and the Beard James Harden were forced into covid protocols. And to add 20 more pounds of dirt Brooklyn best player Kevin Durant was questionable with an ankle injury. Seven players in protocol and KD almost being out meant Brooklyn couldn't play. After such a crazy day the nets brass could have talked KD into not playing and Brooklyn not potentially losing anyone else. But Kevin Durant, an MVP caliber legend never quits no matter the odds stacked against him. So Brooklyn roster was 8 with half the available squad being rookies. Kevin Durant the leader, the legend and captain of this team; Patty Mills the Australian phenom, former Spurs NBA champion, and three point shooting threat, Blake Griffin, a veteran versatile big hustler for this team who lost his starting role; nic Claxton, a young stud junior vet with great versatile defense and dunking power; Cam Thomas, a potential underrated top shooter whose developed a great chemistry as a student to KD; and young draft picks Edwards, David Duke Jr and DeRon Sharpe were available for a tough hill to climb against the scrappy Toronto Raptors. As was the theme of the Brooklyn Nets all day: They were down. But they weren't out.
