This was a much needed video. Thank you, Dr Rupali. What is the F1 competency form? Where is it available and should it be signed by the internship coordinator?
So from what Clem has explained to me, it's a form she got filled out by her consultant from medical school, outlining her competencies in terms of the medical school curriculum and procedures. There doesn't seem to be a standard template for it. You should be able to get it signed off by the internship coordinator. If you did get an internship completion certificate, you could perhaps get a letter to go along with it which explains your competencies in further detail.
@ Ty for this info. I do have an internship certificate and a log book which I got this printed out and signed (before receiving my certificate), and it shows what responsibilities I had, procedures I have done during my internship year. Will that help?
@@macie_key that does sound reasonable. I would recommend combining it into a single document in case you are asked to submit as evidence although Clem believes that it is not always mandatory but it shows you know and have everything signed and proof of those skills which ALL F2s should be comfortable doing. You can find more information about the program and documentation here - foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/f2-stand-alone/
Thanks for the video! Since Clem was applying to the program before graduating, how did she provide proof of her primary medical qualification? I understand for the UKFP you have to fill in their form and get it signed by your medical school dean but I’m not sure how it works for GMC registration. Also, for GMC registration how did Clem provide proof of her internship? Is this easily obtainable from med school since it’s forms part of the 6 year medical degree? Thanks!
@@Joe-jc1tn So, Clem’s medical degree was a 6 year MD degree which made her eligible to apply directly for FY2 standalone. She didn’t need to do an internship so she went straight from medical school to FY2 standalone :)
You need the ILS/ALS by the start of the programme so it would be in the pre employment check. More details here - foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/F2%20Stand-alone%202024%20-%20Person%20Specification.pdf
So, Clem went to medical school in Cyprus which where medical universities offer their medical programmes entirely in English to international students
Yes it will since they haven't mentioned any changes to the SJT as far as I am aware but I would recommend keeping an eye on the official website - foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/f2-stand-alone/f2-stand-alone-2025-key-changes/
loved it xxxx
Glad to hear that! xx

Hi, about the ILS certification, do we need it at the start of application process? or can we do it after getting a job offer?

Hello. Is clem’s country listed as an english speaking country? I was wondering if there is a way to bypass oet scores for applying
So, Clem went to medical school in Cyprus which where medical universities offer their medical programmes entirely in English to international students
@@rupsgotnochillYes But Cyprus is not listed in the englisg speaking country list in GMC right?
hey, is the SJT still going to be used for F2 standalone for 2025?
