The goal of the Social Network "ArkNow" (ArkNow.net) is to create an informational and social environment to reduce risks and negative effects of natural disasters on humans.
Relevance of the ArkNow.net
The number and energy of natural disasters of climatic and geological nature are constantly growing worldwide. Natural cataclysms cause great loss of life, and experience shows that governments and international institutions do not have sufficient technical, financial and legal resources to effectively reduce the number of casualties and other negative impacts of natural disasters.
The only solution in this situation is to prepare the population of the planet to save themselves and people around them. Everyone should be able to struggle for their survival and to rescue their families and other people as well. People all over the world must be morally and psychologically prepared to face emergency situations and acquire the necessary knowledge on how to behave properly when they occur. It is very important that people who have lived through natural disasters could share their experience of survival with other people. No less important is that people in disaster areas could feel the empathy and support of others from all around the world. People should be able to transmit online video and other information directly from natural disaster zones so that the world community could immediately know the truth about the occurring events.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ARKNOW.NET:
Providing information about all natural disasters occurring in the world;
Creating informational opportunities for cooperativeness among the ArkNow.net members;
Providing knowledge on how to act in the event of natural disasters;
Giving the chance to send urgent information to international and national rescue services;
Creating an opportunity for people to share their experience of survival and rescue with each other;
Making it technically possible for each ArkNow.net member to transmit online video and photo images from a disaster zone to the ArkNow.net online television system "I See" using various technical appliances (web-cameras, mobile phones, professional camcorders etc.)
Creating a technical opportunity for ArkNow.net members to transmit information from disaster zones to be placed in the SOS information section;
Giving unbiased commentaries on the occurring natural events from independent professional experts;
Providing information on the latest technologies for protection and rescue of people during natural disasters and on personal protective equipment.
RIGHTS OF ARKNOW.NET MEMBERS
Each ArkNow.net member is entitled to:
Attend all S ArkNow.net organized events, forums, conferences, etc.;
Receive any information provided to ArkNow.net members;
To buy service packages of ArkNow.net
Transmit video data from natural disaster zones to the ArkNow.net "I See" online television;
Send to the ArkNow.net administration their suggestions for improving and updating the services and opportunities provided;
Offer their services and assistance for the ArkNow.net development;
Provide sponsorship support for ArkNow.net development;
Transmit video data from natural disaster zones to be placed in the SOS information section.
NETWORK MEMBERS MUST:
Observe the ArkNow.net Charter;
Keep to the rules of morality, ethics and culture of communication;
Refrain from any actions that violate the principles of conventional morality, democracy, internationalism, equality, pluralism of opinion, and tolerance of religious beliefs;
ENTRY INTO THE NETWORK "ARKNOW":
Anyone regardless of the country of residence, ethnicity or religious beliefs can join the ArkNow.net.
To join the ArkNow.net, one must endorse the Network's Charter.
NETWORK'S ADMINISTRATION
The Network's activity is coordinated by the Project Head of the ArkNow.net.
The Network's administration and management of its technological resources are carried out by the administrative staff.
