Every time I - a gay man in his 50s - go back to visit my 85year old father in South Carolina, I have to adhere to his schedule which requires *two hallmark movies every night*! I am going to have to ask him to watch this using my Netflix account when I visit over Xmas. Thanks Chrisy and Alonso for this review! Hope you aren't offended Alonso. Love ya.
They filmed most of this movie where I live, they took over the court house area a few blocks from where I work. Definitely not British Columbia, closer to Ottawa.
This will be hard to beat for best Christmas movie this season. Genuinely stunned that Alonso didn't like this; equal stunned that Christy did. This movie is a perfect tone for being absurd silly fun, then Lacey and Dustin are so good. Meet Me Next Christmas was half good, half painfully terrible, but I can see why some would love it. But as a dude in his 50s that will prob watch 150-175 Christmas movies Nov/Dec (not joking), this was a really good one. Awesome review because the outcome was so unexpected.
A couple years ago, the podcast How Did This Get Made covered basically this movie, except it was called Snowmance, down to the red scarf. But it's very Hallmark, so not enough shirtlessness lol
I don't watch these movies, but I do listen to bad movie podcasts and I'm surprised the no one is comparing this to Snowmance (2017). It's also a snowman romance... Snowmance, get it?
I don't know, it makes me cringe as a person who enjoys wearing big magical scarfs. They make me feel like "This is special it's gonna give me the spirit to do the daily chores!" On the more relatable level..... also that looks like a monster waiting to come to life, not a twink.
Seems like a battle of the, 'just OK', Christmas movie with this vs Red One. To be honest, I was slightly more interested in the latter, probably wouldn't have bothered with either - but now I'm intrigued.🤔
I really liked this movie, and I am a veteran watcher of Hallmark Christmas movies (mind you, I hate-watch them). There’s a hipstery irony about the story and performances, and a lightness that I would assume other TV Xmas movies are supposed to have, but most definitely don’t (dumb and cliche are not the same as light).
I was actually thinking that I want a good watch list for this Christmas season. Could Alonso make a list of Christmas films worth watching? I know Hallmark has dozens if not hundreds, but if anyone can make a tight list is Alonso. That being said, the fact that you guys don't agree on this film has made me incredibly curious 😂
I just arrived at this review after seeing Christy and Alonso's review of Red One (haven't seen but wish to). Is a copyright infringement suit imminent from the corporate overlords at Hallmark? Still I find it amusing that I disagreed with Christy on Red One and disagreed with Alonso on this movie (which I also have not yet seen, but wish to). Sure Hot Frosty (the cringe obviously begins with the title) sounds a bit awkward, objectifying and weird, but at this point in time I want movies that I can laugh with or even laugh at...besides I already subscribe to Netflix 😉.
@1:10 Hope Springs is a fictional name. This movie was shot in my hometown in the middle of the summer🤣. The street the diner, police station and store are on is a main vein to the downtown core. Wanna google map it, it’s court house avenue in Brockville, Ontario 🇨🇦
So it is literally a kind of remake of Jack Frost?? A Canadian Jack Frost?? A Mannequin and Jack Frost crossover?? Ey, there still the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie, so 🤞🤞
I think this may be the biggest gap in scores between you guys that I can remember, it almost gets me wanting to watch to see whose side I agree w/ more...........lol.....almost.
This stupefaction of movie criticism is in perfect holiday goosestep with the stupefaction of the US government. Hallmark Christmas movies are more stomach turning than TERRIFIER 3 could ever hope to be.
Why sit through 2 hours of this when you can just google Dustin and see him pictures of him and admire his physique for a few minutes then move on happily with your life
It was a horribly boring movie. Really really bad. I cannot for the life of me understand how Christy gave it an 8, which was actually the reason I watched it. A true waste of time
I conceded our nightly watch time to my wife last night and we sat through this interestingly engineered movie. Maybe because I’m a male, or perhaps because I like to think about what I’m consuming, but good grief I felt very alone in this world after watching it and thinking it was amongst the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It’s #1 on Netflix and that just confounds me.
Uhh Ohh, what do I do? To see it or not to see it? I’m gonna roll the dice if I can find the time & get back to you about what I think. Thanks guys!!♥️💚☃️🧣

Good to know, thank you!
If you see red brick apartments, it's Ontario. If you see wood frame houses plus mountains and tall pine trees, it's BC.
@BreakfastAllDay that's right, was in Brockville, Ontario.
Alonso's not having it! 😆
😆
Once again your product placement is ON POINT!
Ha, thank you :)
Alonso Vs Christy. Beef watch 2024! lol
We need those diss tracks!
George of the Jungle meets Winter!
Ahhhh it's that time of year... holiday movie time!!!!
Let's see if this movie will bring on the *HEAT* 🥵
hahahahaha, the disagreements here are with wonderful respect and witty banter. We can all learn from this.

This is a fun movie. So I’m with Christy on this.

I loved this movie. 😊
Glad you had fun!

Feels like Alonso’s having an off week lol. I really hated Red One, and this feels like something I’ll enjoy.
So he finally does the "job" while he's in town.

Christy, your hair is very pretty today!
Thank you so much! Went to the salon this week.

Very cool! (We figured it was a fictional name 🎄😄).
So it is literally a kind of remake of Jack Frost?? A Canadian Jack Frost?? A Mannequin and Jack Frost crossover?? Ey, there still the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie, so 🤞🤞
Jack Frost ... but hunky.
@@BreakfastAllDay 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to see it.😂
❤❤❤❤ Hot Frosty
Seems like your Christmas sensibilities are quite different.

Ha, let us know if you do!
@@BreakfastAllDay You know I will...lol
Alonso, I love you, but not even you can get me to watch a movie with Danica McKellar in it
I don't like Ted's hair

Ha, it’s not even two hours 😄

So sorry!
@BreakfastAllDay oh come on, there's nothing to be sorry about, it's just personal taste but I should have trusted Alonso on that one 😉
@@avraampavlidis2862This movie gave me so much joy. I needed this movie.

Alonso is preponderantly knoweledgeable of the Hallmark Christmas Canon.Just the facts:)🧣
