      Right? It’s actually harder to execute and land the ending dismount than the floor exercise in artistic gymnastics. Such an underrated division of gymnastics!
      Imagine trying to do “The Biles” in this. Not saying she could do it. But it would be harder for her to that here because it’s a complete sprint of flips. And the distance is much further to travel.

    Hopefully this is added to the LA Olympics in '28. Not sure why they can't just add this to artistic gymnastics!

    • @latonyanewsome0
      @latonyanewsome0 3 місяці тому

      Two things. First thing, this is not artistic gymnastics. This is power tumbling. They already have tumbling in artistic gymnastics with the floor exercise and aspects of it in vault and beam. So basically it would defeat the purpose of adding power tumbling to artistic gymnastics for that reason. It would be just repetitive work and power tumbling is it's own sport under the gymnastics umbrella.
      Secondly, people have asked for power tumbling to be added to the gymnastics branch along with artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline. Unfortunately the head of the Olympics and or the gymnastics portion of the Olympics believe it's not needed because there's already enough that takes up gymnastics, artistic gymnastics taking up the biggest portion of it.

    I'm a gymnast, but not a judge, but I thought the 1st Brit did a better and more difficult tumble. They're all awesome though. Really really hard stuff . The hardest I could ever do is the whip backs 😂

    This is truly impressive, especially considering that they experience G-Forces similar to fighter pilots in dogfights. Has anyone actually measured how many Gs they pull in competition, and what G-forces are they really going through? Also, how fast are they going down the track?

      Absolutely shocked that Shanice didn’t win with that tumbling pass, but to get a bronze was disgraceful! This is the 1st time I’ve ever seen this competition so I don’t know anything about it but I used to coach youth gymnastics so I know a little bit about the sport. I watched the men’s competition, and none of them were doing the twists that Shanice did, especially multiple ones. I feel 😢 for her.

    I used to watch tumbling more a few years ago and have noticed there weren’t any Chinese gymnasts in either men’s or women’s tumbling finals, something I find highly surprising. Anyone know of a reason for this?

    • @thesplendidinternet36

      Maybe because they don't see it as prestigious and therefore parents only want to sign them up for gymnastics which is deemed more prestigious in their eyes? But that's just a very white assumption so I hope a Chinese person van tell us why.

      China used to absolutely dominate women's tumbling from 2011-2018 (look up Jia Fangfang, she's an absolute legend) and were neck and neck with Russia in men's tumbling 2007-2018. They certainly have fallen the radar since the 2019 Worlds, though. I too would like to what happened.

    I'm confused. I've seen cheerleaders throw harder passes on a cheer mat. Don't get me wrong, they are all very talented but I thought I would see harder passes. There were a couple with some insane passes but I guess I'm missing something. I thought they would all be more like the girl at 6:45

      @@cmw8216 I’ve seen cheerleaders throw double back tucks in exhibitions, but never double pikes, double layouts, or any single- or double-twisting double backs. I love cheer, but cheerleaders’ tumbling is nowhere near the level of elite power tumbling in terms of difficulty or execution.

    • @cmw8216
      @cmw8216 Рік тому +1

      @@KC12344325 I've seen cheerleaders throw triples on a similar tumble track. Granted form and placement is not a factor but they also haven't trained their whole lives to compete in tumbling either like these women. I've seen them throw double doubles. I've seen them throw doubles on a straight cheer mat. I think you are taking this a little too literal and personal. My point was, I expected to see more. That is all. I have both a cheer and gymnastics background so I'm not discounting the talent as I stated in my original post. I understand there is more to this sport than just throwing crazy passes. I expected to see passes like we see with the men, that is all
