    Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT TYPE OF TUMOUR DO I HAVE?
A slow growing gangliglioma - we only discovered this after performing brain surgery (as it is in a very tricky to operate section of my cerebellum, so we couldn’t biopsy prior to surgery) - we removed 80% of it and monitor the remaining 20% with MRs
HOW LONG WAS I IN HOSPITAL AFTER SURGERY?
    5 weeks in hospital
Followed by 5 weeks in a rehab facility
WHAT ARE MY NEW PHYSICAL CHALLENGES AFTER BRAIN SURGERY?
Severely uncoordinated left hand side of my body (I have stroke like symptoms)
I have challenges walking (especially up and down stairs - I need to hold onto a rail)
I have challenges swallowing food, drink and saliva (sorry gross, I know) - this is know as Dysphagia
I have challenges with my vision - firstly I had severe double vision (Diplopia) and now I have severe dry eye in my left eye
I have daily fatigue - making normal daily tasks quite challenging
WHAT WERE THE TIMELINES FOR MY NEW CHALLENGES AFTER SURGERY?
I taught myself to stand up on my own two feet after 4 weeks
I taught myself to walk again (with a walking stick) after 3 months
I taught myself to walk unassisted after 4 months
I learnt to eat and drink after 3 months
I started to see clearly after 2.5 months

This resource is also for support networks, with a dedicated playlist created specifically for families and caregivers
HOW I DECIDE WHAT TOPICS TO COVER IN MY VIDEOS?
I create videos inspired by the questions asked by fellow warriors in the comments of my videos. If someone asks a question, I’ll make a video dedicated to answering their exact question. If you have any specific questions, don’t forget to ask it in the comments and I’ll make a video reply specifically for you

It definitely could! It could be dozens of things, stress, anxiety, dehydration etc
If you’re really concerned tell your doctorate’s you have bad headaches and want an MRI of your brain
      I’m
About to release another video on this topic, so keep an eye out

I just went to my regular GP and told them I was dizzy
You need to ask them for an MRI of your brain, if you’re concerned about it being a tumour
      Do you have dizziness?
I have a video coming out about this soon, explaining if dizziness is a tumour symptom! keep an eye out for it

Hey man I am 18 and I am experiencing very mild ghost vision which is kind of doublish it happens mostly on white colour objects and goes away when I go near the object I have very high astigmatism and mild dry eyes also but I also get it after wearing glasses it improves a lot after wearing them though. I have no other symptoms no headache no dizziness nothing can this be a tumour ?? I went to a eye specialist he said 99.9% it’s not a tumour

      Gday mate
      Thanks for checking in
Firstly, my advice would be to listen to the experts (your doctor, surgeon, GP etc)
Secondly, many things can be a sign of a tumour, but many times those same things are not a sign of a tumour, my advice, if its available to you, get an MRI of the brain just to make sure. Not only will it give you peace of mind, but time is the best weapon when dealing with brain tumors
I’ll make a video on this exact question for you asap! I’ll tag you in the video
Have you heard of kaleidoscope vision? I get that!! It’s pretty gnarly
      Thanks again for reaching out
      Stay happy n healthy 🤙🏽
