I don’t ever write reviews or bother with the comments in UA-cam, but just had to because this is such an incredible channel. I put off learning AE for a very long time because it just seemed so daunting. I fortunately happened upon this series and I cannot underscore how helpful it has been, how much I have learned within a relatively short period of time, and how it is so wonderfully executed. Altogether, the videos, the PDF, and the accompanying project files are so well done, and I can’t believe the bulk of this was FREE. This is truly a quality, university-caliber course, and GDS has a great knack for teaching. Firstly, the organization of the video segments is perfect. Although there are A LOT of them, everything in them is purposeful, meaning everything contained is essential, concise, and beautifully explained. And, as someone has already mentioned in the comments, GDS was great with repeating key phrases and steps so that you fully understand. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into his choice of words, organization, and sequencing. The color-coded PDF is extremely helpful with its summaries and quick links. Most importantly, it’s a great resource to accompany the videos. AGAIN, I can’t believe the bulk of this is FREE and how helpful it has been (Note: I haven’t finished the whole course, but if what I have completed is any indication of the rest of the course, I expect to be fluent soon!). As a designer who has relied on tutorials through the years, this series is by far the best I have ever encountered in terms of QUALITY, PRESENTATION, CONTENT, AND EXECUTION. Cannot recommend this more highly! Cheers, GDS!
Hi Gareth, I want to thank you for making this course! and for free :) I have been bit afraid from after effects for many years but now starting to feel comfortable thanks to the way you made it. The explanations are great and the way you speak is wonderful and pleasant to listen to for hours. Thank you for your generosity!!
Thank you for the awesome tutorials. I really like your way of presenting the material. What I ended up doing was watching the first part of each video (where a general overview of the lesson is introduced), and before watching the second half of the video (where you show how it's done), I try to complete it on my own. It really helped cementing in the information when after my attempt, I watched what you did. Thanks again!
Finally reached this part of this course and with half of my notebook filled with this courses notes. i hope to breeze through this section, i'm thinking it will be a smooth ride from here on out. i hope lol
Loving these videos- thank you so much for helping me learn After Effects! One thing... I purchased the project files and none of the video files are available and I'm not able to work alongside you. I sent an email- hoping to get a response!
I don’t think you will have problems buying it because it is online. When you pay, you are able to download it to your computer. I live in Turkey and I had no problem buying it, so I hope this helped.
There have been some reported issues with the font, but I can help you here! The font currently in the AE download files for some reason is not picking up the ‘Lemon Milk’ font as intended when you install it straight out of the box. Some users after installing the font, it still does not register in the After Effects files. FIX: If the font does not register once installed, You will have to re-assign the ‘Lemon milk’ font in AE. Simply select the type, go to the character panel and and re-set the type to ‘Lemon Milk.’ To update. This should rectify the problem. Alternatively you can download another version of the font here: www.dafontfree.io/lemon-milk-font-family-free-download/ This has reportedly resolved the issue.
