The Invisible Past is one of the greatest songs that I've ever heard. It's up there with Heretoir's Golden Dust and Mew's Comforting Sounds in terms of sheer cathartic exuberance.
That's something that makes me feel better after Agalloch disbanded.

The cover is a phoenix giving a depressed old man a stern talking to.
First listen through... my Gaia, it's incredible. ANOTHER band just getting better and better. I don't think this is wholly accurate, but it feels a bit like a blend of Neurosis with Jarboe, Sólstafir, Fields Of The Nephilim, and, for some weird reason, The XX😄! SoM, another triumph for your impressive roster! Hail.

It's a pretty good album, though I liked the previous release from 2018 a bit more. This album feels a bit more experimental and with that a little less consistent. Still, a decent successor. Very interesting band, this!
I feel the same. Great Escape is a timeless masterpiece for me.
I was sure this one would be different because of this darker cover. I'm giving it several listenings in a way to try to get it in more.

No second of this record is boring. The different music-styles flow into each other without any kind of borders. The melodies are melancholic and gloomy but you can always see a light at the end of the tunnel. There are many instruments (e. g. some kind of trumpets) used on it and the way Belinda Kordic and Helen Stanley create their voice-parts perfectly fits to them. Perhaps the beginnigs of some songs ("In the night") are a bit too long (after a several listenings. First time listening you will not mind it) but overall I give this brilliant album a 9/10. Hope we can see them live soon. Greetings from good ol Germany.
